DOOM + DOOM II is a complete package, offering the definitive experience of both timeless classics. But overall, it's still the same games we've known for over 30 years, with a few extra campaigns.

DOOM 1 + DOOM 2 is simply one of the best video game compilations out there and an excellent tribute to id Software's legendary shooter.

What makes Doom + Doom II such a great piece of video game preservation, then, is that it fully embraces Doom‘s legacy as a fan-created phenomenon. Besides including pretty much every official id Doom title (which already includes a number of fan-made levels curated together by the studio in the years after Doom‘s initial 1993 release), it also collects together some of the best of the best of the thousands of mods made for both games. Critically, the presentation of this huge glut of content includes a focus on curation, with notes providing the user with historical information, and even critical appraisals, of the huge number of levels included in the title. The package also includes a nifty “id Vault” that contains more traditional making-of content, including old unused textures and design notes, but the presentation of the levels themselves is the real prize exhibit here.

Great release of Doom classics and expansions to revive one of the most influential game in the FPS sector. Talking about the port, it's a great work of refining and quality of life improving in game like interactive dynamic map, texture mapping and weapon particles, and technically speaking (you can easily lose yourself in the menu and options switching for graphics, music, sound, controls etc.) On a gamewise talk, Doom still hold fantastically it's years, simplicity without being easy. No hint given you'll learn the hard way to manage ammo, find secrets, fight enemies, with a rather decent dedication to it. The cons are: Doom II, well pretty much everything to it. The design of levels, enemy placement, ammo count will constantly put you in difficulty. And the addition of 'joke' levels like a running away from a domino of exploding barrels, doesn't help this chaotic chapter. Play it, skip it and move to some DLC inside this great compilation. Multiplayer included, not tested.

One of the worst, if not the worst, remaster in video game history. Only Nightdive Studios could embarrass themselves like that.

Stop killing games by your garbage remasters. It's literally unplayable and unenjoyable.
