Simogo Legacy Collection
Even if you end up playing only 1 or 2 of the games, the level of quality showcased in Simogo Legacy Collection makes it well worth owning.
I played the game on the Switch 2 (it’s also on Steam and the original Switch) and it re-creates the mobile experience by essentially turning your device into a giant smartphone, complete with a basic menu where the games all appear as app icons. There are a whole bunch of extras to dig into, including playable prototypes of some of the games and other bonus materials, like a podcast series that was released as a companion to The Sailor’s Dream. Don’t sleep on the music player; there are some amazing tracks here.
Polishing and repackaging its mobile output, Simogo have created an essential collection of classics, where every game is worth your time. Despite their mobile origins, these titles feel tailor-made for Switch and the devs have fully embraced the console's feature set.

Nintendo Insider
Simogo Legacy Collection Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is simply one of the most important releases of 2025 and one of the best games you can buy on Switch 2 today, oozing with creativity and featuring some of the best iOS games of all time. Not only did Simogo do a great job translating all the games over with an incredible Nintendo Switch 2 Edition that makes great use of the hybrid console’s input options, but this is immediately my favorite way to experience these games. It also helps that the full package is accompanied by excellent music featuring arrangements of Simogo songs and an activity log tracking how many times you’ve played a game, in-game stats tracked, and more.

I am almost sure that there is a game for everyone in this collection. Whether you’ve been following Simogo since their mobile games, or only played Sayonara Wild Hearts, each of the titles on display is such a great encapsulation of what has made this studio so unique. It’s not just a documentary showcasing the history of the studio, but this is Simogo pioneering a way forward: presenting a path for the preservation and (re)appreciation of games made for mobile devices. These types of games, more than any other, are so quickly lost to the annals of history. But they are important in their own right and collections like these give them the respect they deserve. I simply had a fantastic time with the Simogo Legacy Collection. It is everything one can expect from a collection celebrating a legacy. My hope is that other studios are taking notes and can learn from what Simogo has achieved here.

Simogo Legacy Collection is a wonderful package that gathers several unique titles essential for fans of the studio. Although the games vary in quality, Year Walk and Device 6 stand out as innovative experiences that echo the creativity seen in Simogo’s later releases. While there are multiple control options, many of them feel awkward and can impact the overall experience. However, when played as intended on a handheld with touch controls, everything works seamlessly. Add in the extras and you’re left with a superb selection from a truly special developer.

As a work of game preservation, Simogo Legacy Collection is thoughtful, principled, and as carefully curated as you could wish for. (It’s only a shame that there are no physical releases for the Switch and Switch 2 versions.) As an act of self-celebration by a great studio, it’s joyful and very much earned. The fact it needs to exist at all is a quiet condemnation of Apple’s compatibility policies, but in this case, the App Store’s loss is our gain.
