I like the many interactions that are possible, freedom of choice, character creation, narration and the combat system - for a turn based - is not bad either. With that being said, no matter how much I try to like this game (and I was very hyped for it), I can't get into it and the story I think utterly boring. The characters are shallow and uninteresting and the lore I'd describe as the United States of High Fantasy. I feel like the game doesn't even attempt to treat itself seriously so it's hard to feel excited, scared or invested in any way.I've made 2 attempts to get into it but throughout the 2nd act I lost any will to continue (the thought of a nap unironically felt more **** in all, pretty good gameplay with some nice ideas but packed with a boring uninspiring story based on the lore made as an afterthought.

Divinity walked so that Baldur's Gate could run. As a frequent, and dare I say, seasoned, player of D&D, Divinity 2 was a breath of fresh air in the high/dark fantasy genre. The game play is simple, to the point, but also has a layer of depth that allows for thorough strategizing and planning. If you like, Baldur's Gate, which I know most do, you'll definitely like divinity 2.

It’s just a blissfully great experience. Some of the most satisfying combat in cRPG history, a great story, and don’t even get me started on the goated narrator. I swear I want whatever Borislav Slavov, the OST composer, was on when he made one of the greatest video game soundtracks I’ve ever heard. On par with THE Jeremy Soule, imo. Every detail in DOS2 screams 10/10. Just go play it.

It's my number one favorite RPG of all time. It has everything, great story, music, great characters, voice acting, combat, graphics. It's just a great RPG. I think giving a game a 10 is almost impossible however. Even DOS:2 has some downsides. For example, the many conditions in combat can be really annoying, the puzzles to me is annoying not fun, and the last act is not as good as the other ones. But overall it comes close to being a perfect RPG. I really liked Divinity Original Sin 1 too, and I supported Larian in it's development. It was a really fun journey, back when Swen Vincke used to post on Youtube.

I don't really know where to start. It's just a massive game, with so much content. Larian really is an amazing development team, and I'm just excited to see what else they have to offer. REJOICE! We get another game in the Divinity franchise!

Good looking game with disgusting fight mechanic. Physical armor and Magic armor? One of the worst mechanics i have ever seen.

Divinity: Original Sin II was the real entry for me into the Laurian Studio games, and I have to say that it is incredible. I had previously played Divinity: Original Sin, but never really got into the story and ended up not nearly finishing the game, but DOS2 captivated me all the way from the beginning to the end. The gameplay is fantastic if you enjoy this type of tabletop D&D style of gameplay, and the music is also very memorable.

It's a great game. Fighting with the environment is fun. Terrain elevation matters in combat, and that’s cool. It’s a strong role-playing game. It was my favorite before Baldur’s Gate 3 came out.

Deep turn-based systems and reactive storytelling. Occasionally overwhelming in scope, but worth every moment.

Div 2 is a massive game with a combat system that boasts a high skill ceiling.--I would've enjoyed it more if I could count past 10, but these numbers just keep getting bigger and bigger. --The story is interesting but feels like it runs on a bit longer than it should. --The characters are a mixed bag, some are memorable and others are just forgettable. --Still a fun game w cool mechanics and a neat elemental system. 6/10 would kill squirrel boi again

Came to play divinity stragih out of BG3 and I can tell that this game was also put together with love and care and quality. However it's a much older less refined version of BG3, you can tell the dev learned a lot from Divinity 2 to make BG3 an even better experience. I am in act 2 right now and sadly without the modern fancy cutsceneand romance options I can't quite motivate myself to continue for now but that's on me really.

This is propably my favourite take on a turn-based combat. It's unique, very variable, stays fresh, and gives so many opportunities to go ham with the mechanics. Presentation of information is the weakest link in this game, but a minor gripe compared to all the things DOS2 gets right.

Divinity Original Sin 2 is a fantastic game by Larian Studios who will go on to make Baldurs Gate 3, and you can totally see their magic at work here. A fantastic group of companions, strategic battles with unique abilities, and a full world that tells a story of survival, freedom, and ascension. I played this game solo and with friends and both playthroughs felt completely unique. Please show this game some love after your next BG3 playthrough

For reference BG3 and X-COM2 are 10/10 games for me. I put >100h in DOS2 and regret it. It has several big issues: **** The dual (phys/magic) shield idea is just crap. It means the usual team: warrior, archer, 2 mages is *severely* nerfed. You have to split your damage among multiple enemies (each lives longer) or simply waste turns i.e. hitting a 3k phys shield on a boss whose magic shield is already broken, which is just stupid. My "usual team" playthrough was a **** on every battle. In contrast, in another playthrough with 2 lonewolf mages I was no-hitting boss fights and ending other fights in few turns, but that's not what I wanted to play. **** The random loot idea is crap. I got hundreds of useless items (i.e. finesse gear with +1 some magic school). Just checking if anything works, storing and selling them was a full time job, a *massive* waste of time. Leaving it on the ground is not an option either, as you will need the money. **** The scroll based skills idea is crap. Another *massive* waste of time. In a full playthrough I think I checked vendors for new skills/scrolls 40 times * 4 classes * 20 scrolls per class = 320 times. Plus the time it takes to physically walk to a vendor. And if you decide to re-spec, buying all the scrolls is as expensive as buying a new house IRL. **** (no spoilers) The final battle is just pure BS. This might be one in 3 games where I got that far and just said f-it, uninstalled. ---------- Quality-wise this game is up there with BG3: voice-acting, animations, etc. are great. But the gameplay decisions they made just ruined it for me.

Divinity: Original Sin 2, much like its predecessor, is a solid recommendation for anyone who enjoys games with tactical combat, deep character customization, and rich world exploration. The game offers dozens of hours of quality gameplay and a well-crafted adventure. The soundtrack is memorable and well-timed, always kicking in at the right moments to enhance the atmosphere. The graphics are another strong point: the maps are incredibly detailed and really help immerse you in the world. You truly feel like you’re exploring a living, breathing place filled with secrets and hidden **** gameplay has its highs and lows. One of the best aspects is the freedom to build your character however you like. You can choose abilities, talents, appearances, and playstyles with a lot of flexibility. However, that freedom hits a wall when it comes to progression. Most of the skills you’ll use are available early on, and very few new ones are unlocked later in the game. This means that if you commit to a specific style or class, without branching into multi-classing, combat can become repetitive. You’re either creative with what you have or stuck using the same few moves throughout the whole **** game’s difficulty also sparked some debate. I played with a few friends, and the opinions were mixed. One of them thought the balance was fine, but another agreed with me that something felt off. Battles rarely feel fair. Most of the time, you’re either steamrolling your enemies or getting crushed without warning. There’s a lack of that perfect middle ground — the tense, strategic fights where both sides are evenly matched. Part of this is due to the action economy. Unlike the first game, here you can’t level up attributes to increase the number of actions you can take per turn, which limits your options. You usually get just two or three actions per turn, and when you’re up against a group of eight enemies — each acting multiple times — it drags the fight out and gives that unpleasant sense that the AI is cheating. And since these drawn-out battles happen often, it can become frustrating.Another frustrating aspect is how the game handles companion stories, especially in co-op. If you're playing with two other friends, the game forces you to pick just one origin character to follow through their personal storyline. This is disappointing, as it makes the co-op experience feel limited in terms of narrative. In single-player, you'd normally have the freedom to explore multiple characters' stories, but when playing with others, you end up missing out on a lot of that content — which is a shame, considering how well-written those arcs seem to be. Sure, it adds replayability, but it also makes the co-op feel like you’re only seeing a fraction of what the game has to **** the part that disappointed me the most in Divinity: Original Sin 2 was the main campaign. It’s not bad, but it’s too timid. It takes a long time to draw you into the narrative and make you feel like you truly belong in the world. Even though the game tells you who you are and the characters acknowledge your role, it’s hard to feel that involvement. You know you’re part of something, but the emotional connection is weak. Things happen around you, and you go along with them, but the sense of purpose takes too long to appear. That’s in stark contrast to the first game, which got you invested in the plot within the first few hours. Here, you’re left waiting for that hook. And when it finally comes, it either feels too late or lacks the impact it should’ve had. It’s missing that “click” moment — that sense of "now I know what I’m here for."Still, I’d recommend Divinity: Original Sin 2. Especially if you have friends to play with, because the co-op experience works really well. The game offers freedom, rewards creativity, and delivers some truly great moments. But it also struggles with a limited progression system, uneven combat balance, and a slow-burning story. If you do play it, take your time, explore everything, and try to carve out your place in the narrative. Because if you rely solely on the campaign, that place might be hard to find.

This game is a masterpiece, plain and simple. The style, the story, the gameplay, the music, the characters, the voice acting, the immersion, it’s all very close to perfection. Every quest, every battle, every area you explore is like a puzzle; One that gives you complete freedom of your characters and their surroundings. See a giant painting hanging on the wall? Drop it on the enemy’s head with telekineses. An entire room full of bad guys? Block the exit with some crates, light the place on fire and teleport out of there! It’s the ultimate RPG sandbox experience…one that rewards you for thinking outside the box. You do begin the game not knowing what the heck is going on, but the more you play, the more pieces all start falling into place in the most satisfying way.

There is a common misconception with DOS2 that it is universally recognised as being one of the best RPGs of all time. I have the benefit of knowing what it was like to hear this game was the best, playing it and being confused as I got stuck in locations or fights for hours. I stopped playing because I was so bad at it and left it alone until one summer, I picked it back up again and found myself engaged in the strategy of the game. I loved it so much that I even came back a second time and played on 'For Honour' mode and completed the game, and I had so much fun trying to avoid death; there were some intense moments. That is the beauty of DOS2: it is a hard game, and if you come into it without that knowledge, you will be immediately frustrated about why you're still stuck in Fort Joy or losing a fight against teleporting crocs. Moreover, it is a slow burn game, It's more about the journey than the end; the second stage is arguably the most overwhelming due to how much there is to do and the freedom you get over what you tackle first. If you do try DOS2, do have at least two weeks of free time to go through it. It will be worth it!

Scratches that D&D style, turn based fantasy combat itch. Great character customization, branching story options allowing you to role-play in different ways. A few of the quests can be tedious and unclear, Fortunately the good here outweighs the bad, it's definitely worth slogging through some of the frustrating parts to enjoy the overall grand adventure the game offers. Definitely worth playing and I'd love to see a third installment.

I got introduced to Larian Studios through this game and I'm thankful for it. Though the combat style was new for me (coming from skyrim and fallout) the story, writing and voice acting kept me hooked all through out the end. I felt the endings and romances could have been more fleshed out, but it was an overall fun experience.

One of the best RPGs I have ever played. It has a fantastic modding scene also. Multiplayer is fantastic, allows the host to utilize the game while other's are not present, while allowing you to control your allies. The roleplaying possibilities are endless. I have played the game as guts from berserk, wolfric, archaeon, karl franz, thor, warrior priest, templar assassin, and boromir. I've put 1000 hours in across multiple playthroughs, it is very easy to see where Larian got much of their inspiration for BG3 from. Completely recommend!

I have played several playthroughs on different difficulty levels and also in co-op (500h) I rate the following: Graphic design: 10/10 Story: 9.5/10 Combat: 10/10 Character progression (leveling/items): 10/10 Music: 10/10 Out of all games I played (+50) I think this my new top **** opinion is that this game is close to perfection.

Played in co-op with friends and I feel it could be better. Fights were interesting and challenging but dialogs system is just wrong in co-op. Clearly, it was designed for single player and doesn't work well when playing with other people.

If you are an cRPG fan, it's an obvious choice. But I am not one of those people. At least i weren't, untill i finished Divinity 2. Yeah, the pace is a little off, especially near the end, and it took me like a year to complete. But I did it! I liked the narrative that gets quirky, and often doesn't treat itself too serious, but that also ruined a lot of story moments that developers tried to mark as significant? But I can accept, because some of the funniest, original dialogues I had in video game I had in Divinity 2.

An absolutely amazing game to play. I have never been a fan of turn based rpg's, In fact I even played this game a couple of years ago due to a sale and I didn't give it a chance. After a couple of years of maturing as a gamer I have to say that I have never been happier in being so wrong in my decision to drop the game all those years ago. It has completely changed my opinion on turn based rpgs and has brought back the feeling of adventuring in a amazing fantasy land that I lost so long ago. The soundtrack is the best of its kind, the characters are very well fleshed out with each having their own compelling story, often causing you to get attached to them quickly in the game, the story is great and very enjoyable you will always find yourself getting surprised and wanting to find out more, and the gameplay is strategic and action packed and you will always have to adapt your strategy for every battle. I cant recommend this game enough, it is undoubetedly one of its kind and for any fantasy fans, rpg fans, d&d fans and any gamer I highly recommend you give this a good try and get immersed into its world, soundtrack and characters :) Thank you Larian

Extreme amounts of customization in this game. I strongly recommend if you have 3 other buddies to play with. But if you don't have anyone to play it with, then the game is kinda meh. It's also very grindy and can get a bit repetetive. The story is meh, although the combat system is awesome.

Outstanding game, I'd give it a 9.5/10 if I could. I played through this game about 9 times, was so much fun, and the characters were all amazing. This is one of the best CRPGs of all time. The lore is very interesting too. This game also served as a stepping stone for possibly the best RPG of all time Bauldr's Gate 3. Larian is amazing.

Normally, I don't watch movies twice because it's boring to see something I've already seen. For similar reasons, I'm reluctant to watch story games twice. However, I've experienced this game's vast amount of content twice
