Refreshing for a soulslike (not really a soulslike but kinda). The flashiness of the boss encounters isn't there to fool you. The combat gameplay is amazing, deep and rewarding. Visually, the game is a triumph.

A disaster. From the first gameplay trailer I new this was S. This game feels like it was shoved out the door during alpha testing. Hollow, uninspired and completely empty.

It's a massive, open-world depiction of Bolivia that gives the player a decent enough sense of agency. Unfortunately, once you have cleared two or three provinces, you have essentially seen the entire gameplay loop. Also, the story and character interactions feel flat.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla3
Jan 22, 2026
Basic, boring, and repetitive. I remember being skeptical about AC Black Flag because mixing assassin lore with piracy was a bold move, but they actually pulled it off. Black Flag managed to feel like a pirate game and a AC game at the same time. Valhalla feels nothing like an AC game. The narrative structure is painfully tedious: travel to a new area, listen to a story you don't care about, raid, and go home. While randomly stumbling upon or chasing the Zealots was a cool exploration mechanic, the basic combat meant the payoff was never really worth it. Funnily enough, the best part of this game was the dice mini-game. I would literally boot up Valhalla just to play a few rounds of Orlog and then turn the game off.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag8

Bold move to make a pirate AC game but it paid off. It nicely balances the Assassin lore with a pirate simulator. At a point the missions can become a bit repetitive but ultimately, this is a must-play.

WWE 2K167
Jan 22, 2026
After the disappointment of 2k15, WWE 2K16 felt like a massive step back in the right direction, even if it wasn't perfect. The Stone Cold Showcase was very fun. The introduction of working holds and a limited, recharging reversal system added a genuine layer of tactical strategy to matches. For hardcore arcade gameplay fans it might be boring though. On the flip side, MyCareer was boring as always, and online matchmaking remained a letdown.

Simply not fun. No player feedback about the physics, and animations was heard. MyCarrer is as boring as ever and MyTEAM is flooded with pay to win. The VC grind is deliberately tuned to be a miserable, slow chore designed to force you into opening your wallet. And the game's already freaking $70.

Far Cry 57
Feb 4, 2026
Far Cry 5 nails atmosphere but fumbles immersion. Hope County’s landscapes, ambient sound design, and the peggies music are genuinely excellent, and the Seeds are intriguing villains on paper (except John), compelling enough to almost distract from the story’s many holes. But where FC2 and FC3 thrived on tension and vulnerability, FC5 turns the player into an overpowered checklist machine. Endless perks, boring infinite enemy spawns and multiplayer like gunplay, which is fun at first, but makes the game easy af. I wish they would bring back realistic animations and attention to detail. In FC5 you don’t survive a hostile world, you conquer a theme park.

Far Cry 62
Feb 4, 2026
Far Cry 6 is easily the franchise’s lowest point. Boring story, lifeless world, and brain dead enemy AI. What was once defined by immersion, danger, and emergent chaos has been reduced to a hollow open-world checklist, continuing a decline that began after Far Cry 3. While Far Cry 4 and 5 still delivered intriguing villains and memorable narratives, Far Cry 6 fails on both fronts, squandering Giancarlo Esposito’s potential with minimal screen time, a weak connection to the player, and none of the psychological tension that made Vaas, Pagan Min, and Joseph Seed iconic. The gameplay only worsens the experience, instead of feeling trapped in a hostile, unpredictable world, the player feels absurdly overpowered in a theme park.

as a football fan who played FIFA since the 2003 installment, FIFA 16 was the last one I felt EA at least tried to make a game for actual football fans. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion6
Jan 22, 2026
The main quest and certain guild lines, particularly the Dark Brotherhood, are genuinely strong. The problem is that no matter how compelling the plot, most missions reduce to “fetch this” or “kill that” with very few exceptions. And it's not like the game has incredible combat to make up for it.
At least the game is freaking hilarious, albeit inadvertently.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim5
Jan 22, 2026
It holds a special place in my heart, but the older I get, the more I realize just how bad this game is. And this has nothing to do with the graphics. Back in 2011, I didn’t have too many RPG references to compare Skyrim with, but today I realize Skyrim isn’t even really an RPG. It’s a linear errand-boy simulator that undermines a great story with shallow storytelling. Player choice is superficial at best; moral decisions are often binary or meaningless, and questlines funnel the player toward the same conclusions regardless of their role-playing intentions. Within a few days of joining, you can be the leader of every guild at the same time with no narrative consequence.

Jan 21, 2026
It’s just a blissfully great experience. Some of the most satisfying combat in cRPG history, a great story, and don’t even get me started on the goated narrator. I swear I want whatever Borislav Slavov, the OST composer, was on when he made one of the greatest video game soundtracks I’ve ever heard. On par with THE Jeremy Soule, imo. Every detail in DOS2 screams 10/10. Just go play it.

As a longtime FromSoftware fan, I can confidently say this is my favorite game from them. The ultimate "git gud" experience in its purest form. Amazing lore on top of it. As a longtime Larian fan, I was just generally unimpressed (and therefore bored). Perhaps it was precisely because I am a longtime Larian fan—I couldn’t help but compare each aspect of BG3 with DOS2, which is, in my humble opinion, a better game. BG3 is much bigger and longer, but in many moments that grandeur felt empty, as if the game was big for the sake of being big. I’ve even heard hardcore BG3 fans say it gets boring after a while, so I don’t think this is just bias on my part.
BG3’s narrator is obviously talented, but I question her relevance because the game has cutscenes. Again, I couldn’t help but compare her to the DOS2 narrator, whose absence would literally make the game worse. I was also excited to see Borislav Slavov return after his incredible work on DOS2’s OST, but surprisingly, I found BG3’s soundtrack underwhelming, imo.
All in all, it’s not a bad game, but imo it’s not as good as the hype made it seem. Nevertheless, it’s good to see Larian finally get that big breakthrough :)

Dragon Age: The Veilguard0
Jan 21, 2026
I’m being harsh because I cared about this series and genuinely wanted BioWare to succeed. That’s what makes this so disappointing.
Combat: super flashy, seemingly to disguise how boring it actually is. Removing the option to switch which party member you control is a questionable decision at best.
Writing: simply put, it feels like it was written by a twelve year old. What makes this worse is that Inquisition ended on a genuinely compelling cliffhanger, which makes it baffling how badly they dropped the ball here.
Looks: it’s clear they were going for a more “Disney-fied” aesthetic, but I can’t understand who thought that was a good idea for a franchise that built its identity on dark fantasy.
To be fair, Veilguard doesn’t even feel like a dark fantasy RPG anymore. It plays more like a lightweight adventure game made for kids. This doesn’t feel like Dragon Age at all. Sigh. And we thought Inquisition was bad.

The Last of Us Part II4
Jan 21, 2026
Good story, but one of the worst storytelling choices I’ve seen in a video game. Everything else about the game (gameplay, graphics, etc), easily surpasses the first installment. Unfortunately, the storytelling ( not the story itself ) is so bad one can’t have any fun playing the game. I respect the boldness of NaughtyDog and I get what they were trying to convey, but it was awfully done.
