The World's Fastest Indian8
Dec 31, 2011
Bottom line: Slow, immersive, and also catch me if you can kind of belief, rather unusual and very engaging, inspirational at times with effortless performance from Antony Hopkins. Quite impressive it was. What it lacked? It lacked a fast screenplay.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol7
Dec 29, 2011
Bottom line: The mission may not be engaging, but the presentation, the action scenes and some fine performances with a thrilling and breathtaking screenplay will surely attract the MI fans. For others, it is another well crafted 120 minutes entertaining movie. What it lacked? It slightly missed to make a plot setting it to be impossible. I give A

Captain America: The First Avenger7
Dec 23, 2011
captain america is a good movie. It had good characters, nice performances and well blended CGI works, with well choreographed action scenes. It had a taste of humor and also patriotism. A cool movie after a long time. This is quite better than green lantern.

one of the perfect finishes any movie can get. beautifully crafted, perfectly narrated and spellbinding magic all over. dan is perfect as harry. he gets finally the upper hand in the movie. rest others are perfect and duel between dan and ralph is awesome. the dialogs are simply superb. neat way to end a saga.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides4
May 29, 2011
this movie of the series , is probably the worst than ever. the first 45 minutes had nothing. the next 15 minutes was beginning to develop. but again the second half lacks the speed and wild sword fights, comic filled dialogs and some ruthless stunts are all there stuffed into the second half. the movie actually begins to develop at the climax. but who cares, fountain of youth may give life to the people forever. but this franchise would not satisfy the normal viewers. the main reasons are that, it is way too boring in the first half with illogical stunts and some unnecessary scenes which should have been definitely trimmed. looks like the fountain of youth is the only word i can get , but not understand what is the importance in it!! even till the climax. finally what we got here, is a movie with wild stunts , screamings and mermaids along with illogical stunts and escapes and caught again and again. screenplay completely lacked the life. looks like a funny movie rather than, adventure movie. johnny depp was wasted. his talent is not upto the mark in this. ian mcshane was good. geoffrey rush was good. penelope cruz was ok. rest characters are apt. the movie fails to bring interest among audience. even though second half was a bit good, it was overall below average. no scene is gripping and watchable again and again. just a bore franchise adapted to continue the series. i am disappointed.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time5
May 29, 2011
good video game adaptation. the movie was technically good. visually stunning. but the story and narrative failed to an extent. action scenes are quick and interesting to watch. since it lacks a gripping screenplay, movie gets a ok mark

Inception7
May 29, 2011
awesome movie. a mind blowing script. and the screenplay of course, taking into the dream world. seeing curvy buildings, zero gravity etc. nolan"s dream world has been narrated well. the direction and lead casts performances are picture perfect. cinematography and visual effects are the stunning parts of the movie. the effects like water gushing , bridge setups and mirror mazes. some effects like the limbo state where dreams are constructed and buildings look exactly like a dream land. this is awesome. art work is terrific here. action scenes are novel and unique. the excitement never goes down. the climax is interesting. watch it now!!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I8
May 22, 2011
harry potter and the deathly hallows, is the pen ultimate installation of the series. dividing into two parts was considered since it has lot to say explain and deliver the things. the first half here explains the situation is getting worse. dark lord rising and awaiting for an occasion to find harry potter and kill him. meanwhile the whereabouts of the people are getting worse. some attacks at every instant reflects that it is no longer safe to be here. so where do they go? definitely one place, the order of phoenix headquarters. there they find a clue and things move on here. but sooner or later, jungle enters into life and emotions touch their lives and characters split apart and harry desperate to finish this off. in his quest, he finds the sword of griffindoor and something unexpected happens. a real turn back here and some regular touches and revealing a riveting climax. of course the loss of one dearest friend. take a seat back and relax for first 10 min till the proceedings begin. no sooner , one will hook up straight from then till the end of first half. of course some anguish, jealousy would reflect that it is taking a wild turn here. but sooner the qualities disappear and it builds up for riveting climax. the last 20 minutes has lot to see and stick to the seats. no where to relax. direction and screenplay takes a next level in this franchise and reflects the best filming here with everything at appropriate levels. opening scene and last scene are surely stunners and way to begin and end. lead cast performances by daniel radcilffe emma watson and rupert grint are always the best. they are matured and emotions oh my god!! that is really good here. ralph fiennes as deadly voldemort is good and grint evil smile surely will do the sayings oh he is the bad guy here! rest characters are supportive and useful for the narrative. there was some confusion for non book readers about the film, but surely the second half has answers for everything. the chase, the initial sky battle and the infiltration in the ministry are the best action sequences one can never get. the camera work is way too fast here, but it is required for the action to build up. cinematography is awesome here. every frame is dark, bright and of course darker. some visuals are stunning here. during action scenes, you would enjoy the work surely. editing was a bit problem in first 30 min with sufficed scenes that might bore a bit. but the later part picks up and gives a spine ride. dialogs are good and sometimes commendable too. overall we got here a perfect drama set up in the cities and dark forests, rich with colors and action performances and darker with deadly death eaters. one of the best in the harry potter franchise. i am waiting for the last part!!!

Tropic Thunder7
May 21, 2011
what is so special about this movie is , that the emotions displayed when the real actors are caught in a no where land which is not a film at all. the gripping scene of the movie is the landmine explosion of the director of the movie. goosebumps are sure for audiences after that scene. neatly narrated, perfectly screenplayed especially in second half. the initial 15 minutes was a bit boring and opening trailers was not a convincing way to begin, but sooner or later, movie takes a turn and enters deep in to the real jungles struggling for life. friendship , foes , obsession and all real activities are seen in the characters. tom cruise was awesome in his specific role. but always he shouts. thats what i did not like. rest all characters give life to the movie. good recommended movie.

The Mechanic5
May 18, 2011
what is the most surprising aspect is that, the movie has a good tone of vibrant colors which are rich and delivers the same old fashioned action stuff in 90 minutes. the way it begins is something to be noteworthy. the beginning stunt will decide the way the movie is going to turn. once from that we always realize that it is full of action. so considering the action movies in general, what we expect is some good doses of action scenes with hint of novelty in execution. to the most surprising factor, the action scenes are not up to the mark when compared to previous jason sthatham movies. there are nearly 5-6 scenes which involve crude violence. after the first scene, the movie takes a stroll in the park, for about 30 minutes. may be the director had lost his mind to continue the plot and so connects the vengence drama in between. after drinking some water, which he decided after sometime, he brought back the story to life. but now the viewers are already exhausted. director would not mind a few minutes of break. so thats how the cliched first half raps up. when viewers are back on seats, the director promises novel action scenes in second half and with some twists in the climax, movie goes to a full heap potential. some where the movie lost and some where it regained. the last scenes of the movie would infact be surprising but, i do not think so it was a perfect end. looks like a classy! vengence drama filled with action scenes and some interludes of script called the mechanic. vulnerable trained and persons who does assignments to clean targets silently. looks like the director had his last few drops of ink and might have been frustrated with the way the narrative went. he did not cleanly do the assignment here, there were lot of mishaps and content weakness. the mechanic -- imposed itself for jason sthatham only. rest characters are filled and cliched with lack of emotions and life to them. together we can conclude that the movie is no special here. regular doses of action, vengence effect and some dejavu feeling. disturbing for younger generations and even not appealing for all classes of audiences. only action movie lovers would like it. but i would get a feel if expendables was way better than this one. but both of them share a thing in common , lack of script and narration... let me say that depends on your personal interest and if you are a die hard fan of jason sthatham , then keep the initial stunt and the climax stunt in your mind. forget the rest. not worth the penny.

The Karate Kid6
May 17, 2011
movie was good. i say good not best because of the boring first half. nearly initial 40 minutes has been wasted without getting involved in the script. the next 20 minutes was beginning to pick the momentum. but again movie went on slow side. the last 30 minutes was amazingly surprising. climax was amazing. jackie chan and jade smith on screen chemistry was perfect as a teacher and student especially after the car scene, where jade picks up jackie and training begins. good in parts and boring first half. you can watch the movie for second half.

Avatar8
May 5, 2011
a perfect screenplay with emotions tragedy some edge of seat scenes and a touching climax. the cast performance is good. but what makes this movie a blockbuster!! the main reasons include the perfect background score during the scenes that motivate the viewers. the picture perfect cinematography and the most visual effects ever seen. editing is also cool and does not drag. i was not bored anywhere. it was a perfect movie and one of my best action movies.

The Dark Knight8
May 5, 2011
you have nothing here but a perfect screenplay with a strong narrative with spell binding performance of heath ledger as joker. christian bale is awesome in the climax dialog. gary oldman and micheal caine are neat, aron eckhart is good as harvey. perfect emotional gripping thriller that will drive you crazy right from the beginning. a decent climax and thundering technical effects like visual effects cinematography and some stunning camera work makes dark knight the best movie of my list of top rated action movies.
May 5, 2011
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince7
May 5, 2011
story is as of that book. some changes made and it was not gripping. screenplay is the fault here. the story with a cause must be really motivating. but screenplay fades in the first half after 30 minutes and goes dull with all unnecessary scenes for about 20 minutes. however rare interjections of some memories were present. but still i felt that the movie dragged deeply. second half came and again movie had slow impact for about 20 minutes or so. some romance and fun scenes are not at all necessary and it disturbed the narrative deeply. any way the last 20 minutes was very good and movie concluded to a perfection. direction is top notch and thats why i feel that the movie is good. neat performance by daniel emma and rupert. micheal gambon"s performance is good. alan rickman was good in his limited role. rest all did perform good. the lead casts were perfect and thats the driving factor for the movie. technically speaking rich visuals and some eye popping special effects in the climax cave sequence along with teleportation was very good. editing needed a better work. if i had been editor i would have trimmed it altleast for 20 minutes or so. the main scenes did not get focus. the climax is cliched and ended suddenly. even though movie is 150 minutes nearly. it was entertaining for about 100 minutes. the remaining 50 minutes was nothing but real boredom. finally half blood prince is good in parts and great in certain parts and worst in some sections. i recommend the movie.
May 5, 2011
The Expendables5
May 5, 2011
no much of a story in it. screenplay was tight and gripping in the last 15 minutes. first half had its own dose of some humor sentiment and a bombing scene. second half picks up and ends as a action feast. direction by stallone is good in parts. jason sthatham himself and jet li performed very good. the girl character did not get importance. villain was wasted. casting was average as arnie and bruce willis did cameos for a while. sylvester and jason along with li are show stealers. technically movie is awesome. we have some striking background score , some rich visuals captured. good action scenes with fast camera movement, editing was abrupt at parts and second half was saved. over all expendables is average movie to normal viewers and it will be a good movie if script would have been tuned.

The King's Speech8
Apr 27, 2011
story is excellent. screenplay is almost perfect. direction is awesome. cast performances are splendid. climax is motivating. cinematography is eye popping. camera work is ok. music is rare and soothing in the climax. everything is perfect in this. just a hinch of hiccups in screenplay during the second half beginning. comments: slight hiccups in screenplay and not perfect camera movement.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader6
Apr 4, 2011
good screenplay. eye popping visual effects. captivating cinematography mars the weak narrative and bad editing of the movie. it is a typical narnia movie made without soul and life. a story that seems complex enough is not really complex. a complex tale ends as a simple snake battle. the story of seven swords is good to hear and audience expect a real thrill ride in second half. but it becomes cheaper and looks B grade kind of movie in the end. lack of strong narrative and weakness in editing makes this edition as a fragile one. it is though appreciable for visual effects and cinematography. in the end narnia : voyage of dawn treader is a movie of high expectations but ends up as a regular one.

Paa6
Mar 20, 2011
paa lacks the perfect editing. the scenes run quickly and audience are confused of the ongoing story. the climax scene is good. the execution of the story is not upto the mark. paa lacks , apt cinematography. the movie is serious right from start till end. there is no sign of entertainment with this one.

Unstoppable7
Mar 19, 2011
Script: a runaway train named 777 is heading at a rapid speed towards the city of Stanton. Meanwhile as it goes on, two persons frank and will are undertaking a locomotive named 1206. As they come to know about the unstoppable , frank devises a plan through which there are chances of stopping it. What is the plan frank devises ? how they stop the train is the movie about! Execution: the two questions are been effectively answered. The movie ran for 92 minutes with perfect execution without any boring scenes. Right from the start till the end , the movie had adrenaline rush. Thanks for the crisp editing for the thrill to keep alive at regular intervals. Direction and screenplay: tony scott had done a commendable job. Though the script is in one line , the movie is definitely a catchy one. Screenplay is very fast without any slowness. Casting: densel Washington and chris pine are the main characters of the movie. They have done a good job. An equal support by Rosario dawson and galvin gives the movie equal benefit. Rest characters fit well. Background score: the rustling train sounds right from the start till the stopping of the engine , the train roars. Set in a perfect soundscape , the train 777 will rustle and roar in the cinema halls. A perfect movie for home theatres also. The score is soothing , scintillating and sometimes picks up at right intervals. The sound editing is awesome. Editing: the editing of the movie is crisp and standard. The movie ran for 90 minutes and it seemed that the runtime was still far better. But due to crisp editing , the movie was perfectly driven with the train on board and 2 people on its way. Cinematography: the visuals in the movie are good. But cannot say they are awesome. The train moves and the surrounding scenaries of various towns across pensylvennia are captured. Nice view from the helicopters. It looked decent. VFX: the visual effects in the movie are not there to that extent. Few crashes and explosions are there. It moves off very quickly. But anyway , the scenes had good visual effects. Action episodes : there are 3-4 action episodes and stunt scenes performed by the lead cast. Not in terms of bashing of goons , but in terms of jumping onto the train. They are good enough. Camera zooming is good and the thrill during jumping , is intense. Production values: the movie has a good budget. Nicely taken and it deserves Entertainment value: the movie is entertaining. It is a perfect adrenaline rush movie. The viewers are hooked to the seats right from the title and the start of the 777. Till the climax scene everyone are hooked and this is a perfect treat for the weekend night along with the family. Rating: 3.5/5.0 Final word: unstoppable is well packed action entertainer. It is a good movie. A sure hit. It deserves 4 stars but , due to lack of startling graphics and interesting cast , the movie stays with 3 ½ stars.

TRON: Legacy5
Mar 15, 2011
despite , the stunning visuals in the grid, the movie lacks the tempo and does not get to a convincing end. after it began a perfect way , the first half ran well. second half entered back into the same kind of revenge drama. all the characters in the movie had no life. sam and flynn characters needed a much better life to the movie. soundtrack is different. rest all are ok. finally tron: legacy begins for the best. ends as a dumb movie.

Fantastic Mr. Fox7
Mar 6, 2011

His son ash and cousin christopherson plan a secret route to bring back the stolen tail. This brings trouble and christopherson is been kidnapped by the peasants. Now fox and rest need to do save christopherson. What they do? And how they do ? is the rest of the movie Execution: the two questions in the script are perfectly executed. Editing is quick and movie does not lose the tempo. Perfect execution. Nice ending scene. Direction and screenplay: direction is good and narrated perfectly. Screenplay is gripping giving nice mood to the average script. Casting: all the voices for the foxes and expressions by the animals like beavers rats and mice, rabbits are good. Their animation is perfect. Dialogs and action are perfectly synchronized. Music and background score: the music is good. Background score is good during the tractor scene. Gun shots and explosions are reverberating and perfectly engineered.
Cinematography: this is the main life to the movie. Nice scenaries , nice cities , nice shops and good camera work. All the scenes are perfectly captured. Editing: very quick and movie has a short running time. Good editing and really works well with the narrative speed. Cgi/ production values: the visual effects ( animation ) are good. Production values are worthy. Entertainment value: a colorful rich treat for young children. With parents spending 90 minutes with them , this movie is a rejoice to watch during weekends. Final analysis: the movie begins with fast paced narration and the first half ends well. The second half has a serious tone to the script and execution is perfect. The climax is good and will cause goose bumps for more to come. Overall the movie is a treat to watch Rating: 3.75/5

Feb 19, 2011
faster is starring dwayne johnson.. he is really muscular macho man. the story is weak. the screenplay is ok. direction is a failure. editing is sharp. prodcution values are wasted. just a shoot out with 4-5 gun fires and 2-3 stabbings. dull flick with some hunch dialogs. forget the movie. its very weak.

Clash of the Titans7
Dec 19, 2010
clash of the titans has a simple script. gods and humans are fighting against each other. humans are taking revenge against gods. but the thing is that , a demi god is there perseus .... who fights for humans
the ultimate clash is missing here. so execution is failed. direction and screenplay is very good. dialogs are strong enough in 2nd half. narration is well told in the beginning and 1st half. camera angling is perfect during the final battle . casting is good by 3-4 persons . rest did not get their job done well. background score is average. the kraken sequence has worthy background score. editing is fast in the climax battle. things go very quickly. cinematography is perfect. it captures the mountains ,.,, volcanic steeps the forts of the zeus and haydes. production values are awesome. but looks too much expensive
entertainment value is good in 2nd half. during the 1st half ,, only scorpio attack is entertaining. final verdict: the movie is a decent entertainer. in 2D avoid 3D.
