Expendables is the closest thing to movie Viagra yet invented. It's reprehensible. It's stoopid violent. It's a lot of unholy fun.

More The Wild Geese than The Wild Bunch, The Expendables is not a wasted opportunity, but more one not fully exploited.

In the final analysis, The Expendables is little more than an ordinary, uninspired action feature.

The trailers already have given away the "surprise" cameos in The Expendables, so try not to blink when Stallone goes into a church (shades of John Woo) to meet his mystery boss, played by a bald-pated, trademark smirking Bruce Willis.

Might more aptly be described as Bad Kurosawa, Bad Peckinpah or Bad Leone. Which might be a way of saying that it's better-than-average Stallone. I can't quite say that it's not bad: it is bad! But not entirely in a bad way.

Incoherent, inept, testosterone-drenched mess, which is very much the brain-dead male equivalent of "Sex and the City 2."

The Expendables is savage yet inert, and breathtakingly sleazy in its lack of imagination.

This is the best action film ever. Having famous action stars in this big budget flick in the big screen is an amazing experience.

There was something genuinely touching—and honestly, quite hilarious—about seeing these iconic "old-timers" giving it their all. The sight of their weathered faces and the effort visible in every bead of sweat felt strangely humanizing. I remember laughing a lot throughout the film, likely because it leaned into that self-aware, veteran energy. While it didn't necessarily change my stance on action movies, it was a fun, lighthearted experience that made the theater visit worthwhile. A solid 3.0 for a movie that knew exactly what it was and delivered a good time with plenty of smiles.

Parece que o Stallone só queria brincar de fazer filme com umas frases bobas, ação boba e história boba. O início é ruim e o final é ainda pior. Não serve nem pra Sessão da ****.

Stallone clearly just wanted a reason to hang out with the guys. It’s got a nonsense story, bad acting, and no reason to exist.
