Played like a movie with some familiar action mechanics. The story itself makes this a must buy for Bond fans. I was debating a 9 but the replay ability just isn't there as much. Really enjoyed this one, and if 101 keeps making Bond games, I wouldn't hesitate to try them also.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach5
May 6, 2026
The only reason it gets 5 is because my kids like to watch me play this. Otherwise this game has terrible direction. Absolutely no clear directions in this game, odd toggle placement like a switch being in front of you yet you are missing it by not being totally in view. Just not a good game that was annoying to finish but I'm glad my kids like it I guess.

PRAGMATA6

I enjoyed Pragmata until it felt more like a chore to play. Enemy battles were absolutely repetitive, even with the different "types" of enemies, I found it to be too similar. For reference, RE9 got a 10 out of me, and I applaud capcom for a new venue here, but it didn't fit well with me. Story was OK, but it's absolutely inspired by Dead Space with a combo of, I dunno, Daddy day care. I'd certainly entertain Pragmata 2 if they update the gameplay. The obvious one to me should be that the Android/Pragmata/Kid should be playable by another controller. I think that'd help because gunplay was pretty mind numbing having to hack and also shoot or one or the other. Sometimes like, RE9, simplicity is king.

I rarely give 10s, but RE9 captured my undivided attention for several days. Even a busy father of 3 was eager to carve and spend sleep hours in favor of playing this great game. The combination of story, fear, action, and character development was incredible. This is why I like games. Please make more capcom and make this the baseline from now on.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered9
Jan 5, 2026
This should be the new barometer of how to remaster anything above 10 years old. This was a full graphical remaster and brought Oblivion (a nearly 20 year old game) into a modern take. Oblivion itself reminds people why it's the OG of Bethesda masterpieces. Yes there's morrowind but it doesn't compare in terms of innovation and storyline. Just an incredible experience to come back and enjoy this one many times again.

Madden NFL 265
Nov 21, 2025
Live or die by the NFL sword is what Madden is all about. It's highly unrealistic in it's online play. Nobody punts or kicks FGs, everyone picks the Ravens, and everyone trash talks with incredibly foul language. It also has nice playbook and play designs and clever commentary, the graphics are good and it still reflects a solid experience. The drawbacks are clear but the giant company behind it won't fix it.

While this game is more like a TV show than an actual game, this felt like a good quality experience where choices matter to the story. The story itself is also funny and engaging with excellent writing and character development. I'd be happy to play the next version of the game and hopefully some others.

Listen, the game has depth. When I say depth, I mean it's probably got the most depth of any game created. But creating a game with depth JUST BECAUSE of having depth does not qualify it to be great. This game is essentially the opposite version of Starfield. Plenty of depth but absolutely dreadful gameplay. There's no excuse for not having an accessible mode of some kind here. This is just a game that flaunts it's depth and tedium like it's a privileged child. Video games are supposed to be fun, and sure pressing the limits on immersion is great but I only felt frustration instead. The graphics like many said are great, but I've seen better on other likeminded games. In fact, I don't think it's a huge step up from the original one (which I also detested). The RPG elements had the potential to be fun and engaging, but again, having a dreadful save system (just to point at you and say "hey I'm difficult, so I should win awards") is just unfun. Another example of this is alchemy, going back and forth between a book and moving a damn kettle back and forth could take 20 minutes for a single potion. Oh yeah, just picking a damn flower has a 5 second cut scene (each time!). UPDATE: Having giving it time and viewing some helpful tips on social media, the game went from a slog to a very good time. I won't change my opinion on needing a drastic amount of time to play this, but now I feel its certainly worth it, even if it comes in spurts. You need to be patient in learning the mechanics and you need to follow some popular beginning tips, as I felt this was a huge help for me. I think the -1 score would be for the method in which this games throws too much information your way. Perhaps the communication and learning of the game has its issues because it's a European developer rather than Northern AM. The game started to click for me, around the time you had time to explore, and find new clothes for the wedding. Here you could knock out the Tailor, Buy the clothes, or even rob him at night. All of the physics and choices were available and it was mindblowing to see it actually work (even being caught leaving his shop is there, so close the door when leaving:) ). Very few games if any can pull that amount of choice off. For the developers, I would focus on communication or provide your own social team to provide tips to get into the game properly. I dont think the game as it stands did a great job of that, thus the minus 1.

Challenging and thought-provoking game that elevates and perhaps rejuvenates the mystery/adventure genre. I personally haven't seen this type of game since the 90s with Myst, 7th Guest, others. Perhaps its closest alternative is the Painscreek Killings walk simulator for PC. Very challenging and perhaps too challenging for many as I found myself wondering if things were supposed to be done differently. I like that there is absolutely no hand holding here as it's each piece of the puzzle is actually useful by its own interpretation. Wow, stunning game. Please make more devs!

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon7

The game very clearly uses similar elements of Oblivion/Morrowind with its combat and loot system. The game even starts out in a jail lol. I felt that this game could use more polish graphically as you can tell right off the bat it's not a AAA game. Not a big deal for some, but probably a deal breaker for many. It definitely feels graphically out of place and plays more like an early PS4 game. Pretty cool game and worth a playthrough but wouldn't recommend it at it's current price point as there is a certain "Remaster" that is priced nearly the same but trounces this game in every way.

Elden Ring9

I put this game down 2 times. In fact I purchased it and refunded it those times because the noise from positive reviews kept telling me to try again. I guess 3rd times a charm as this game's challenging system was actually just as rewarding. It's absolutely the most difficult game I've ever had to play in my 30 years of gaming, but also easily the most rewarding. Never have I cheered, such as when I defeated Milania. The game is about learning, learning your own paths to defeat the difficult parts of the whole game. In doing so, you unlock a journey that is rewarding. I took away a single point because for me, when the game is won, I do NOT want to force myself through that again. Elsewise, a gaming must.

DOOM: The Dark Ages5
May 20, 2025
For reference, I haven't played Doom since Doom 3. That one was OK, but the first two Doom games were generational. To me, this iteration of Doom has it's own fanbase due to it's fast action FPS elements. For me, totally doesn't do the originals justice. I felt the originals were balls to the wall SCARY and not ACTION. Running into a giant brain demon was, at the time, incredibly scary but rewarding when you slayed them. This time, the game goes so fast, you don't even know what the heck is going on. Seriously, I don't get the trippy 1000% speed element. But I'm old

Off the bat, graphically speaking this is a AAA game. But to be labeled as an open world game is very misleading. Most of the tasks definitely fall into Ubisoft's tropes done with Assassins Creed so I feel its more linear than it is labeled. Speaking of which, this game essentially is AC with all of the stealth based action. I just simply cannot get into a fully driven stealth game. I do not want to make it a chore to defeat stormtroopers or gangsters. Give me a lightsaber + pistols with skills like Jedi Survivor does but add the RPG elements of this game. WHY WHY WHY did they choose NOT to do this. Baffling to me. I think the story is OK, couldn't get into the characters with forced humor and it just comes off inauthentic. Damn.
