Hogwarts Legacy9
Oct 1, 2023
This games brings to life the childhood dream of being part of the wizarding world, of studying at hogwarts, of being a wizard and being part of a Harry Potter adventure, but as our own character. It is a resounding success in this regard, while still offering fun gameplay and exploration and a solid story.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor8
Sep 27, 2023
An improvement over the first game in almost every regard, except for the story. It’s still good, but it lacks some of the mystery and is not as tight in some places.

Everything about the game is good and fun, I just wish there was more of it.

A game with many flaws that I still can't help but love, one which I have replayed many times and will continue to do so.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey8

There's very little Assassin's Creed in this game, but beyond that it's a pretty good game. Solid story, fun gameplay, vast world with a lot of cool stuff to see.

Rise of Nations8

This feels like several RTS games within one and I love it for it. The inevitable consequences is that each of them is not deeply fleshed out, but it mostly works. Feels great to cause a nuclear apocalypse.

Good story, fun gunplay, cool setpieces. I played this a long time ago, but from what I remember it was pretty good.

It's a shame that I wasn't able to enjoy this game more, because there is certainly a masterpiece here. I just never found it.

Dragon Age: Inquisition5
Sep 27, 2023
Another of the few games I've never been able to enjoy. There isn't much about this game that is fun or impressive, but it's also not terrible either. It's decent, through and through. For a video game, that's just not enough.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons7
Sep 27, 2023
I went into this game expecting simple fun and escapism, but ended up being quite annoyed most of the time because of one mechanic or another. It's a grind, and the rewards mostly aren't worth it.

Borderlands 35

One of the few games I've never managed to enjoy. Very little of it appeals to me or feels fun other than in a brain-dead way. Maybe it's just not for me.

For all its amazing atmosphere, interesting lore and fuild gameplay, the true joy of it is lost on my due to some key differences from the Dark Souls games, differences which, to me, work against the game.

Minecraft10
Sep 27, 2023
I think that what this game offers is taken for granted nowadays, but to me it still remains a fantastic gaming experience, both with friends and alone. I remember playing with friends and them unleashing atomic bombs and crashing the server. I remember when one of my friends built a beautiful castle with impenetrable defences, only for me to build a tunnel in the ground and stealing all his valuables and him shutting down the server in rage. I remember running off to edges of the world with my teammates and building a secret underground base in the depths of the world, remaining incognito for most of the game, and coming out by the end to kill everyone else by surprise. This is what gaming is all about.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition9
Sep 27, 2023
A game that excels in its storytelling, characters and world, and is very close to perfection, if it wasn't for it's limited gameplay options and janky swordplay, and a story that feels a little drawn out at certain moments. None of these "negative" points are significant, however, and the game is very close to being an absolute masterpiece.

God of War: Ragnarok8
Sep 27, 2023
God of War: Ragnarok feels like a bit of a downgrade compared to God of War (2019). It's not the similarity between the two that annoy me, but the fact that this game's story is simply just not as tight. Everything else is still great.
PlayStation 5

God of War9
Sep 27, 2023
A nuanced and mature story with deep characters and an interesting world that feels wonderful to explore, and much more open than it actually is. The gameplay is hard hitting and varied, fun and fluid, and it makes you feel like a true God of War.
PlayStation 4

Horizon Zero Dawn7
Sep 27, 2023
A decent enough story and world to complete the main story and explore with enjoyment, but it is nothing outstanding, and there are plenty of problems beside. Side quests are poor, graphics are jittery and full of strange artifacts, which gets in the way of an otherwise beautiful world. Gameplay is good at what it does, but what it does isn’t that interesting to begin with. This is a game worth playing if you have nothing better to play.

Fallout: New Vegas8
Sep 26, 2023
What New Vegas offers in questing and story and choice, it lacks in almost everything else. Were these aspects not so strong, I would have to rate the game lower, but as it stands the RPG elements and narrative openness are just too good and vast to ignore. All this game needed was a more fleshed out world with more and better locations and greater clarity of choice in the story.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition10
Sep 26, 2023
Playing this game is like waking up way too early in the morning as a kid and watching cartoons and eating cereal before school. Pure childlike bliss and sense of wonder. This is a game better described as magical and charming than anything else. I never cared much for turn based combat until this, and I don’t think I’ll ever care again. But this game is just too wonderful for that gameplay aspect to be of consideration.

Dark Souls III9
Sep 26, 2023
A dark and brooding experience that feels like plunging into some black abyss of twisted mysteries that you’ll never understand, but that impact you deeply nonetheless. It’s a game better felt than understood, which work almost always in its favour.

Firewatch10

Storytelling perfection. A short game that feels more like an interactive film, which is a good thing, one that impacted me well beyond its playtime, and left me feeling something no other game has ever been able to match.

The Last of Us Remastered8
Sep 26, 2023
Story wise and gameplay wise, there isn’t much I can criticise in this game. It looks wonderful and the narrative stays with you forever. But it’s a bit too merciless and stressful to me, and the game offers very little in terms of alternative playstyles.
PlayStation 4

Elden Ring9
Sep 26, 2023
A different open world adventure, more focused on combat and obtuse storytelling, much like all Fromsoftware games, and one that works wonderfully. It’s a rich and dangerous world, one of the few that is perhaps a little too long.
PlayStation 5

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim10
Sep 26, 2023
There is so much greatness in Skyrim, and so much that I love about it, that It’d be impossible to write it all out in this short review. It’s more than a game - it’s an experience. A world that feels more alive than any other, one that keeps begging me to come back and be immersed in it again, and one I never get tired of. I don’t think I’ll ever stop playing and loving this game, for its world is as much of a home to me than my own.
