Mafia: Definitive Edition
7
User Scorec27d0kl2
Aug 26, 2025
Mafia: Definitive Edition is a great remake that manages to modernise the classic while keeping its core intact. The visuals are generally impressive, though not flawless: jagged edges, odd textures and rendering delays often break immersion. Movement is merely decent, and the physics can feel awkward, especially when running or vaulting over obstacles. The AI is weak — particularly in traffic — and the open world, though atmospheric, offers little of real value beyond filler collectibles. Gameplay itself is fun, yet lacks variety. The constant loop of going to a location, mowing down waves of enemies and leaving quickly becomes tiresome. There are exceptions, such as the iconic racing sequence, which provides a welcome break in pace, but these moments are scarce. Cutscenes, however, elevate the experience: facial animations are outstanding, and the presentation feels like a top-tier mafia film. Sadly, technical issues go further. The game crashed repeatedly. For a title that shines so brightly in narrative and cinematography, this level of instability is unacceptable. And yet, what carries Mafia: Definitive Edition is its story. While not flawless, it is pretty good, there is a lack of development in some parts and some things don't make sense, but there's emotionally weighty. The ending isn’t rushed; watching comrades either die or end up behind bars gives real gravity to the tale, underlining the true moral of mafia life — trust is an illusion. In the end, the atmosphere and soundtrack crown the experience. Mafia DE may stumble in technical execution, but its narrative strength makes it unforgettable.

The Last of Us Remastered
9
User Scorec27d0kl2
Aug 11, 2025
The Last of Us stands among those rare games that flirt with perfection. The remastered version for PS4 preserves the brilliance of the original while enhancing the visual and technical aspects, despite a few minor flaws — small audio glitches and the occasional rendering hiccup, like climbing a staircase before the upper floor fully loads. They’re brief, harmless imperfections. I'm from Brazil, and the Brazilian voice acting is generally good. The main performances carry genuine weight and emotion, though some secondary voices feel amateurish and slightly off-key. Still, The Last of Us isn’t defined by technicalities — it’s defined by its heart. The story, while extraordinary, felt a little less emotional to me than I expected — something that’s likely personal rather than a flaw in the game itself. The emotion is there, in every glance and every silence, it just didn’t hit me as deeply as I thought it would. Even so, the narrative is brilliant, filled with memorable characters and world-building that set a new standard for the medium. What’s truly remarkable is how The Last of Us makes repetition feel fresh. You’re always doing the same things — killing enemies, scavenging for supplies, surviving — yet it never becomes dull. Through sheer mastery of pacing and atmosphere, Naughty Dog turns monotony into something beautiful. A modern classic. Almost perfect.

Batman: Arkham Asylum
9
User Scorec27d0kl2
Sep 7, 2025
Batman: Arkham Asylum is an extraordinary game, a landmark that redefined how superhero games should be made. It captures, with precision, the true atmosphere of the Dark Knight: dark, oppressive, and yet utterly fascinating. The setting conveys the right mood, making every corridor, every cell, and every shadow of Arkham Asylum feel alive, conspiring against the player. The voice acting is superb, with Mark Hamill’s Joker standing out above all. His performance breathes life into a villain who steals the show whenever he appears, balancing madness and charisma with mastery. Kevin Conroy, as Batman, brings the gravitas and authority of the hero, completing a perfect contrast between the two. In terms of gameplay, the title shines particularly in combat, which became a benchmark and inspiration for countless games that followed. It is fluid, satisfying, and at the time, revolutionary. However, there are moments when the structure becomes tiring: entering a room, defeating yet another group of similar enemies, grabbing the objective and leaving creates a repetitive cycle. Fortunately, the game rarely takes long to regain its pace, soon offering new areas or events to reignite the experience. The greatest misstep, however, lies in the final boss. The Joker, though insane, has always been portrayed as a brilliant strategist, a manipulator who prefers to win through cunning and chaos, not brute force. That’s the Joker we saw, for instance, in Nolan’s The Dark Knight, played by Heath Ledger. Turning him into a hulking monster, closer to a brawler than a mastermind, feels completely out of character and undermines the immersion built throughout the narrative. Even so, Arkham Asylum remains a memorable and extraordinary game, not only for its fidelity to the Batman universe but also for setting a standard of excellence in atmosphere, storytelling, and gameplay. A title that remains timeless, even with its flaws, and that established the Arkham series as one of the industry’s most iconic.

Resident Evil 3

Aug 11, 2025
Resident Evil 3 Remake is visually flawless and delivers an electrifying opening, but it quickly becomes clear that it strays far too much from what it should be. Raccoon City is beautifully recreated, yet all that visual splendour serves an experience far more focused on frantic action than the tense, oppressive atmosphere the series is known for. Jill is an excellent protagonist, and the gameplay is smooth, but the game is far too short, riddled with cuts to iconic locations from the original, and features a Nemesis who, despite the promise of relentless pursuit, is reduced to predictable scripted sequences. What could have been a landmark survival horror remake instead turns into a competent yet shallow shooter, leaving a bitter taste of wasted potential.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is a near-perfect experience. Its atmosphere is thick and oppressive, making every step through the police station, sewers, and underground lab feel loaded with tension. The setting is flawless: light and shadow blend masterfully, the sound design keeps you constantly on edge, and the pacing is almost always spot-on, alternating between exploration, scares, and bursts of pure action. It’s a game that knows when to push the player forward and when to let them breathe — though never for too long. Its only true flaw is the Second Run: rather than delivering a fresh and unique perspective, it reuses much of what was already seen in the First Run, slightly dulling the impact of replaying. Even so, the overall experience is so strong that this shortcoming can’t overshadow the brilliance of one of the finest remakes ever created.

Assassin's Creed

Assassin’s Creed marks the beginning of one of the most influential franchises in gaming, delivering an immersive experience set against a detailed historical recreation and an intriguing plot. The settings of Jerusalem, Acre, and Damascus during the Third Crusade are rich and vibrant, transporting players to a time of intrigue and secrets. However, the gameplay comes with flaws that cannot be overlooked. The parkour system, crucial to the game, suffers from imprecise controls and sluggish character responses, making climbs and escapes frustrating. These issues lead to moments of repetition and irritation throughout the campaign.Still, the captivating narrative and the concept of an age-old battle between Assassins and Templars keep interest alive. The game leaves a memorable mark, capable of stirring nostalgia and the desire to revisit its world, despite its imperfections. It is an experience that, despite its limitations, earns a special place in gaming history.

Ratchet & Clank (PS4)

User Scorec27d0kl2
Aug 11, 2025
Ratchet & Clank is an excellent game that delivers generous doses of fun, with vibrant graphics and a variety of weapons that make exploration worthwhile. What captivated me most was precisely that exploration — an invitation to lose yourself in creative planets, each with its own secrets and challenges. However, the campaign has its ups and downs. At the start, it was just okay, and around the middle, I began wishing it would end soon. Fortunately, the finale delivers a burst of energy and fun that makes up for much of the earlier weariness. The cutscenes, taken from the film, are confusing and disjointed at first, disrupting the pace and hindering immersion. After the halfway point, they fit better, but the initial damage had already been done.Overall, Ratchet & Clank is a very good game, a technically flawless and enjoyable experience, but one that doesn’t quite touch the heart or stay etched in memory.

Astro’s Playroom may seem, at first glance, like nothing more than a tech demo to showcase the potential of the DualSense. Yet, once you step into the colourful, charming world crafted by Team Asobi, you quickly realise you’re in the presence of a heartfelt tribute to PlayStation’s history – and, at the same time, a genuinely solid and fun platformer in its own **** controller is the true star here, with every vibration, adaptive trigger and tactile detail serving not merely as a technical gimmick, but as an integral part of the experience. It’s a constant invitation to smile, whether through the nostalgia of hidden references or the lightness of its **** yet, for all its charm, Astro’s Playroom leaves a bittersweet longing – not only for what it offers, but for how fleeting it feels. It’s an adventure that ends far too soon, yet leaves a bigger mark than many sprawling epics.

Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake

Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake are more than relics resurrected by the Master Collection — they are historical records of the evolution **** named Hideo Kojima. The first title, which I once dismissed as a dated product of the MSX era, revealed itself to be a work far ahead of its time. Intelligent, intriguing, and bold, it already carried Kojima’s creative signature in its essence. The espionage atmosphere, the constant tension, and the memorable soundtrack make it a game that, even decades later, remains unforgettable. Then comes Metal Gear 2, which I assumed would simply be more of the same — and once again, I was wrong. Here, the narrative gains dramatic weight, the environments are more elaborate, the visuals more refined, and the range of mechanics expands impressively. It’s an evolution in every sense: more complex, more intense, more cinematic. These are two titles that have not only stood the test of time but also helped shape what we now recognise as storytelling in video games. A perfect ten for both — and eternal reverence for the legacy they carry.

On the PlayStation 2, Shadow of the Colossus was born as a dream made real. A vast, silent world where every step carries the weight of an inevitable fate. The colossi rise like slumbering gods, and facing them is more than a battle – it is to take part in a solemn ritual, where victory and sorrow walk hand in **** landscapes are living paintings, the soundtrack echoes like distant memories, and every moment feels eternal. There are no excesses, no distractions – only the journey, the faithful horse, and the promise that guides every breath.Perfect not for being flawless, but for being unique, untouchable, and for touching the soul of those who allow themselves to be lost in that world forgotten by time.

Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 4 remains a masterpiece of sensitivity and scale, with breathtaking landscapes and a melancholic atmosphere that permeates every step and every battle against the colossi. It is a unique, almost timeless experience, capable of holding the player’s attention through sheer ****, despite its “remake” label, it behaves far more like a deluxe remaster. The core of the game is almost identical to the PS2 original; the visuals have changed, but very little has been rethought or rebuilt. Elements that could have been modernised, refined, or adapted to today’s standards have simply been copied. It feels as though the original game was lifted wholesale, polished on the surface, and handed back — beautiful, but without **** is still an extraordinary game, but it lacks the boldness of a true rem
