The Watchers5
May 19, 2025
Admittedly, this film did take me some time to figure out the bigger picture. However, once you've captured all the flags, there is not much else this film has to offer. Much like a classic horror twist, The Watchers simply misses the mark. It's a neat idea, but the execution is lack-luster.

Unfrosted5
May 19, 2025
If you're intoxicated, or maybe if you enjoy the strange comedic mind of 21st-century Jerry Seinfeld, then Unfrosted might be fore you. What could've been a very interesting doc-drama about the corporate story of the Pop Tart, unfortunately, follies out to be a comedy that's not always funny, turned satirical, confusing mess.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes6
May 19, 2025
Cinematically gorgeous, but plot device-wise forgettable. The next distant future sequel to War for the Planet of the Apes (2017), while also working as a prequel to Planet of the Apes (1968). This entry just does not thread the needle. Understanding that this film acts as a bridge to more Apes in the future, filling the void of Caesar might just be too much of a burden.

Terrifier 35
May 19, 2025
If gore, some horror, and a below-average plot are enough to entertain you for about an hour and a half, then go for it. Terrifier 3 does not add much, but it does continue a story, all while keeping the doors open for more. TR3, however, does bring back what its audience may only be asking for: absurdly over-the-top kill sequences.

Monkey Man5
May 19, 2025
Monkey Man is a movie that those who enjoy pure chaos. What could've been my inability to catch onto the internal plot due to the nature of this film, could have also been the film's inability to convey the correct plot delivery method.

The Beekeeper5
May 19, 2025
Look...does a film called The Beekeeper reinvent the wheel? ****, does it have too? Also, no. What is a simple turn your brain off and enjoy film, The Beekeeper does bring some much-needed redemption to the scam artists behind the telephone, which will surely bring a certain level of relatability to any auidence member.

Trap5
May 19, 2025
TRAP - more like I was trapped again in the theatres. Every new project since SPLIT (2017), M. Night Shyamalan has promised a return to his classic roots. The only problem is, Trap is not that. Instead, we get a somewhat interesting plot where the story is told from the perspective of a trapped killer within a concert as they try to play double roles. Like I said, it's interesting, but often feels like a first draft film.

Lisa Frankenstein5
May 19, 2025
A modern retelling of a classic tale - except this time, it's set in the 1980s, mixed with a similar world that would make fans of The Breakfast Club, and fans of the teenage wasteland genre, quite happy. Lisa, Frankenstein does offer some quick laughs while balancing a horror-type style.

Longlegs4
May 19, 2025
I was longing to leave the theatre. Now, let's get this straight. Long Legs does present some occasional different themes, while Nicholas Cage (Long Legs) does bring some superior acting chops to just a strange, and oddly enough, not seen on screen much, character of Long Legs. However, the underlined story is muddled with a basic explanation of the darkness.

The Strangers: Chapter 13
May 19, 2025
When the world asks for a new age of horror, this is not what they mean. Attempting to strike lightning in a bottle from the original The Strangers (2008), this chapter one prequel has seldom anything to watch and enjoy. A slog of boredom and a predictable plot, this is great for low-level streaming.

Madame Web2
May 16, 2025
The idea behind the film is a risk-taker. Using mainly unknown Spider-Verse villains on the silver screen in an anti-hero role is a hard accomplishment. Despite the attempt, production on Madame Webb falls insanely short **** movie. While it's interesting to see characters like Uncle Ben Parker in a new world, the film itself falls flat in every other category. From pacing, to character development, character decisions, not to mention the terrible villains, ADR voice-over...Madama Webb needs to be buried in the sand somewhere in New Mexico to be forgotten about.

Heart Eyes0
May 16, 2025
Breaking tradition, there is simply nothing here worthy of redemption. Heart Eyes tries to blend college humor (which isn't funny) into a Valentine's Day-themed horror/slasher. While this might have worked in a college student's capstone, the final project is an absurd lagging of bad dialogue and no fun.

The Monkey4
May 16, 2025
The **** Monkey does not have the slightest. At least, not an engaging enough one. While the idea has been done before (evil doll causes chaos), this film simply falls flat in a couple of different ways. Alongside a MAJOR issue towards the end of the final act, The Monkey is something you might want to skip.

Plankton: The Movie6
May 16, 2025
A perfect film for famalies; Plankton: The Movie does bring a sense of fun and wonder, while handling some more adult themes in finding purpose and love, a very strong relatbale trait for audiences of all ages.

Mickey 176
May 16, 2025
Mickey 17, the return of Academy Award-winning director Bong Joon Ho. What was expected, due to the marketing, was another "Groundhog Day," reimagined. However, that is not the case in the slightest. With some very powerful political messaging, Mickey-17, despite its strong start and interesting idea, falls apart with a way too long third act, creating somewhat of a mess.

Hell of a Summer6
May 16, 2025
Hell of a Summer is trying to bring back a genre long gone, and it almost gets there. While a **** for slashers in all mediums; debuting director, Finn Wolfhard introduces an audience to a world of yesterday, Young Adults trapped in a love triangle at a Summer Camp...what could possibibly go wrong? The film does not try to reinvent the wheel, and it doesn't have to. However, a forgettable twist with some interesting character decision making, Hell of a Summer is a fine new slasher.

Death of a Unicorn6
May 16, 2025
A much smaller-scale, modern Jurassic Park with Unicorns...DOAU brings a fun, well-paced film where Paul Rudd and company get in over their head. On the thematic backdrop of greed and lust for money, this film presents a fun time at the movies.
