Nice graphics and combat but very repetitive and boring. It all feels very cookie-cutter. The world is not very interesting so exploration is pointless and the combat in itself is the same stuff over and over again. No RPG elements, no dialogs, nothing to do other than moving forward and killing some enemies. It's like a bad copy of Tomb Raider mixed with Dark Souls. It seems they spent all the budget in the cutscenes and forgot they had to actually make a game.

It's amazing the first 2-3 hours and then it becomes super repetitive and the writing just falls apart. Also, considering it's a game about moving a round a massive building, the map you use is quite frankly terrible.

Really nice graphics and writing, but otherwise a very clumsy title full of euro jank. Gameplay is at its best when sneaking, but gunfight is not great. Probably the worst aspect are the terrible cutscenes. Sound effects, voice acting, and music are all really poor. The reverb destroys any clarity in the dialogues which is already bad with the Russian accent. The game does a terrible job of communicating with the player. Most of the times you have no idea what you have to do. The UI is mediocre at best.

The art and mood are fantastic, but from a game design perspective PJM2 does not live up to its prdecessor. Moving around is extremely frustrating, level design appears random, and there is no info what upgrades or towers do. The joy of strategy is gone.

While it is certainly a beautiful and detailed world, Dear Esther is not a game. When you pay for a game, and expect a game, this is very disappointing. It is closer to a demo for a textuure artist and 3d modeler than a game. Not fun at all, lacks any real narrative and the experience is completely un-engaging. Don't waste your money on this.

An amazing immersive experience that blends elements from many other games. The story parts are well crafted, specially the characters and dialogues, and the game play is fluid and very polished. The only downfall of this game is that you will need a powerful machine to really enjoy it and that you will have to install Uplay, even if you are launching from Steam..

The game mechanics are fun, but after a few plays it becomes repetitive as there's not a lot of depth to it. Tactics are very repetitive, and strategy wise there's not much to it IMO. I find the oriental theming really annoying, but that's just me. Too expensive, as it doesn't offer much in the long run.

I really wanted to like this game. The graphics are amazing, the idea is original, and the atmosphere is very well achieved... but the gameplay is simply horrendous, full of glitches and awkward mechanics. The third person camera is a total fail. It seems the game is oriented to a mature audience, and not to hardcore gamers, but even in this aspect it fails as the writing is quite superficial, mundane, and full of clichés. The dialogues couldn't be more obvious... I bought it very cheap in a Steam sale, and I regret it completely.

Dishonored

User ScorePier
Nov 4, 2012
Dishonored lives in between many games (Half Life 2, Deux Ex HR, Hitman, Assassin's Creed, etc) but manages to create it's own identity with unique mechanics and an immersive world. It is not a shooter nor a pure technical stealth game in the classic Metal Gear way. First it is a game about choices, and in that aspect it is pure genius. Second it is a handcrafted world inspired by the industrial revolution era, but with some fantasy and sci fi aspects that is simply amazing to explore. Characters are at their worst completely believable plot devices, and at their best mesmerizing performances and dialogues. Third it is a game about refined art. Yes you read well. For example the music was written by Dexter's composer Daniel Licht. If you know Dexter, you know what I mean. Graphics are extremely refined, even in the brutal bloody executions. Clearly this game is targeted at an adult audience. Sadly I don't think that most people will be able to appreciate how good this game is. It is simply a masterpiece that will be remembered for the years to come.

An immersive and unique low budget strategy game. It's a very interesting experience which can be even educational for the curious minds. Despite it's horrible premise, the whole infecting humanity thing is handled very elegantly and you won't feel like a mass killer... more like a scientist in a hidden dark lab. The game could easily benefit from a better art, and more content (videos, sounds, etc), but the playability is very well achieved considering the task at hand. I hope the devs had a lot of success to remake it with AAA production quality.

Almost every aspect of this game is very polished (graphics, sound, ballistics, level design, etc). You can be hiding behind a vehicle and hear the german guards complaining about not being able to phone their wife in the midst of the Berlin invasion... that is the level of realism you get. The downside is that it becomes repetitive, and frustrating at some points. You cannot change the difficulty without starting the whole game all over again... Do not take the "elite" word in the title lightly. All in all it is a good game if you find a good price for it.

This game could be amazing if there wasn't so much time waiting for the good stuff to come. Instead of adding pointless and tedious features such as the den defence or the contracts from "brotherhood", Ubisoft should have focused it's budget in better handcrafted level design, more story, and better game mechanics. There are (still) far too many wtf moments when you try to climb and Ezio jumps to the opposite side... and the stealth system (if it can be called that) is far too rudimentary. The game has some great moments indeed, but what happens in between is quite boring. Still, if you like the previous AC you should enjoy this one. Let's hope AC3 is a better and refined version of AC Revelations, instad of another copy and paste.

Good idea, but there are too many annoying problems with the interface and the gameplay. For example when you fail a mission there's nomway to go back and reconfigure your soldiers. The only way is to restart the whole game again. Also the camera moves automatically to the character, so if you want to attack an enemy multiple times you have to move the camera every time, dozens of times... A waste of money IMO.

This could have been a great game, but seems unfinished most of the time. There are many bugs in the rendering engine, and the graphics are really outdated. The story is cheesy (which is ok), but the gameplay needed a lot more work. The AI is very basic, and for example even if you are with other wanzers, everyone is attacking you. Sometimes the difficulty is very low, and sometimes it's very hard... Like nobody paid attention t that... Where the game fails miserably is when you are outside your wanzer on foot... It's like going back almost 10 years in a very bad fps.

The game takes you to the beginning of the 20th century in the far west. It really takes you there. From the weather, the light, the plants, the animals, the people, the architecture, etc. You are there. The story has been worked at that same level of detail too, including many historical figures and events. The music is also amazing and really sets the tone.I haven't played the previous statements, but to me the gameplay is really good. The controls feel natural but at some points the game lacks some drama and becomes a bit repetitive. The graphics are quite good, but on the exception of the landscapes which are amazing, they are inferior to Uncharted 2 or Metal Gear guns of the patriots. The only thing that I really hated about this game was the ALIASING. It seems the game is not rendered at 720p or 1080p, but at some other inferior resolution which makes a constant annoying ALIASING... Although it has it's flaws, RDR is an amazing game.

It is too repetitive, and at some points it is too difficult. For example when you are shooting the asteroids... User ScorePier
Jan 23, 2011
Demon's Soul lacks any kind of story telling. It's simply dungeon after dungeon collecting souls... and that could be ok if the game in itself was good, but it isn't. The graphics are ok, nothing spectacular though. But that's the only good part. The interface is clumsy and illogical, as if nobody had spent a second thinking how the user would navigate the menus (which are ugly). It is really plagued with bad ideas... for example when you're playing and recover your blood an annoying text appears on top of the screen but the game still goes on and you can't see what's happening (and yeah you can get killed or fall into some hole and die). The gameplay is basically repeating the dungeons again and again without being able to save at any point, and loosing almost all your progress every time you die, which makes it boring and frustrating. And you die a lot of times... The combat system is also clumsy. Your character will start a combo, you will loose control of it, it will make make a few steps, and fall into a hole and die again. Also the game doesn't inform you of anything. You have to go to the internet to learn Oblivion, which is from 2006 is still a better RPG. This game is terribly bad, it's by far the worst game I've played on the PS3. I bought it because it had a high score on MC and I still can't understand why it has such a high score.

Wipeout HD is amazing, but somehow it lacks some fury in it. The graphics are fast, but a bit dull, and so were the ship models.
