XCOM 2: War of the Chosen9
Oct 28, 2022
With mods game is super 9, otherwise score 8 is more appropriate. I have finished game 5x. Twice without mods, 4x with "tired" mechanic and once without "tired" mechanics include quality of life mods, 3x speed upgame and this deserved 9. Its turn based strategy game, which has its rules and few wtf moments, which you have to get through to learn mechanics. Learning curve is therefore rather steep and mistakes are unforgiving. Start of the game is very hard. Later, when your soldiers gain levels and when you get better armor, game starts to be much less stressful and much more "arcade fun" and that makes smile on your face, when your sharpshooter one hit kill robot across whole map, or when ranger smashes all attackers with blade when he is in front line. Specialist heals and gives defense bonuses and made my soldiers "invincible" many times. There are few more types: psio has most abilities, reapers make game nice tactic battle etc.. Strongest side of game is imo fact, you are commander and your soldiers are counting on your commander skills, so you want them to not only finish mission, but you also want them return home uninjured and alive. That wants you to be better in the game. Its fun and you see on yourself progress in that matter. Actually in last game I have lost only two soldiers, otherwise be prepared to loose much more of them. Game has some for me strange mechanics when enemy can pull you through wall, but you can not shoot them, sometimes robots can go through wall or appear from nowhere. It happens like 3x per game, so ironman, is not for me, nevertheless I was able to finish game without loading game though. Graphics is pretty and thanks to customization menu, you can make soldiers be indentified in game by colors - blue is ranger, red is sniper etc. I was using all mods for speed up game and quality of life. Without those game is frustrating and makes you wander what you can sell, which soldiers can be bond, who is intelligent most etc. Without mods its a mess and very frustrating. I have also removed "tired" mechanics in 5th playthrough in .ini file and game is much more fun and better. With "tired" I have enjoyed game only once, its only prolonging game and make game rather tedious and slower in its pace. Super fun game with mods 9/10 especially 3x speed game, otherwise its good for experience 8/10. I would even consider give 9, but "Lost" in the game is just killing it. Good luck Commander! OLED + 110" screen, surround.

Even there is unforgiving and clunky combat I am giving it 9 for atmosphere and experience, but from point of view of gameplay and if only gameplay is what you are looking for, its rather weak 7/10 due some frustrating stuff. Game is rather walking simulator with few puzzles and basically all what you do is wandering around and pressing everything you can. There is also part with shooting and its a pity they made game unfair and frustrating because if you dont know game, you have to die, there is no chance you can make it through. Once you know what to expect, how weapons feels and how to use them: its doable but it brings rather nothing and it takes time to get into the mood again. If they put fighting to minimum, it would be much better imo. Otherwise game brings something special: there is very hard feeling, that you actually dont know who you are, who you represents and where do you go. You lack of sense. You only know you are conscious in this world and all what you can do is to go forward. This lack of ID is strongest part of game as you are not sure, if you can identify with what is happening on the screen - is it you who do all those stuff or is it creature/body you control? World has it own rules and many things will be unanswered. Thats another strong point of game, nevertheless a bit more hints would be nice to have so we have some more lore to work with. Graphics si fantastic and you have to play on max setting with same good screen, otherwise I guess lot of atmosphere is gone and game is rather shallow and can not give the vibe you deserve. Without sound and graphics I wouldnt recommend to play and wait, till you have something good to play it on/with. Played on OLED and 110" screen.

DMC 5 is pure action. Although story has some revealing moment it is rather trivial story and nothing to think twice about. Characters are likable and overall are great, game didnt provide much space to get "intimate" feeling to them, so what happens to them is not much emotional, its rather cinema pop corn experience. Nevertheless I am pretty sure fot those, who played another DMC games will have different feelings and enjoyment. Game is basically about searching and using combination of fighting techniques. If combos are successfully delivered, you are rewarded with more bonus points and those points u spent later to unlock more fighting techniques. And thats whole point of game, searching for best combo. Its console type of game and it is fast, and super fan. I was lacking some kind of atmosphere, but its more in fun and entertainment field than immersive type of game. In the beginning its rather slower if you as me never played game like that so its 8/10, but later game is 9/10. If you know you like those type of games, you can go even for 10, as it has replay value and game is counting on rising difficulty for next playthrough. Its really good game and if you never played game like, give a try, its really good. Played on 110" projector screen. Surround 5.1

Dishonored10

I bought that game few years ago and was expecting fps game. And I didnt like that game at all. I have started the game with mindset that Dishnored is not fps game and allowed myself/game to teach me what it wants from me. In the end its stealth game and its one of best stealth I ever played. In the beginning its rather hard to know what you can do, how enemies can spot you and what you can do, how shadows works. But once you learn all basics along with powers Blink and Bend Time works ".. Oh boy, this game is superb. Amazing atomsphere, great action, story is great and misison and levels are super too. Game starts to get better and better when you go through the game. Searching for Runes and Bones is well done. Game is not lazy at whatever moment, you still have things to do and you move forward with constant speed. Its really hard to find something frustrating or irritating in this game. I have to give 10. I have been using mods "HD Texture pack", "Upscaled Loading Screens", "Mission Stats" and "ENB or Reshade with SweetFX for Dishonored". Played on OLED.

With mod "Skip Unskippable Custscenes" game is 9. On version 1.12 to 1.2 I was thinking about scores 6, 9, 7. First score 6 was due to learn what is this game about and how it works and played mostly only main mission. Score 9 was given once I learned to use all those implants and rpg stuff and how menus works and grabbed all missions. Score 7 was given as you could not skip unskippable sequencies and I couldnt continue how boring all those tutorials before missions are. Nevertheless this review is made on version 1.6. Game is simply great with mods "Skip Unskippable Custsenes" and "GTA Travel." Graphics is best I have ever seen in whatever game. World is believable, streets full of dirt, different zones in cities has reason why those look like this, luxury part of town shines while narrow streets between houses can be set up for a trap... Main story line presents basically everything that cyberpunk genre can offer, but took me a while till I understood and appreciated what was that about. Its phenomenal what this game make you think about if you get along with your character. Where he lives, what he lives for and fate of all protagonists who has no much options than to live in the Night City. In that sense all choices has impact about how you think and what to think about what is happening in the game. Its fantastic, nevertheless to get in to this perspective was not on first playthrough. Sad is, that almost all main mission have two parts - tutorial and actual gameplay. Tutorial parts take more time than actual mission and are boring and waiting till some NPC moves make my nerves... Its very sad, they make it that way and you can not skip it. This part downgrade overall enjoyment to unpleasent waters and you wish to turn this crap off - its really that bad. Side mission also has impact and are great. Some of them are even better than main story and main missions. Imo what perfectly shows what this game is about is quest with Paralez. Whole game is about manipulation and power. Nothing more to add: you are simply a bad guy, you basically play as criminal and your job is to solve "problems". Third type of missions are what this game make game replayable the most - ncpd and gigs. Those are small and short mission but have impact and gives color to the city. Without those city would be rather dull and feeling of what this Cyberpunk world is about would be gone. Atmosphere is many times fantastic. Sounds, graphics, tension - its all there. Characters have their own lives, you can feel where they come from and what their intensions are. I have tried to play games with few builds and all works just fine. Some feels better than others, but all are good enough to be played. Netrunner is superior to most, I had most fun with fists, katanas was just fastest along with monowire. Guns I have played only occasionally. There are few things that was simply bad - you can not skip cutscenes, you can only speed up some dialogs with "C" button. Thats all. Sequences in cars can not be skipped at all. Many times there are places like "press button to continue" - I hate this in every game - for example "drink" and cutscene can continue... Menus are what they are - there is need to learn how to work with them. Sometimes you can leave with ESC button, sometimes with C button. Driving cars is not much fun and brings rather frustration. What irritates me most was radios - in cars music was cheap and music in the streets was ear tearing experience. Why the f*** all radios and big repro towers plays like damages earphones or cheapest speaker from 1980? Pace of game is also questionable and very slow. The game nevertheless is replayable and thanks to mod "Skip Unskippable Custsenes" which make game fast 4x and you can also run this way from place to place insted of using cars of transport system, makes game 9. Played OLED, 5.1 surround, RTX.

All starts as puzzle solving game and it ends with a bit of story and kind of horror atmosphere, but nothing really to write about, nevertheless game is not only puzzle game in the end. Puzzles are nice and it definitely learns a player to think in 3D. I have finished after 2 hours; it was pretty good experience. If you dont know what to play and have 2-3 hours of time, give a shot. I guess there are not many people who will not be entertained with this title.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider8
Aug 24, 2022
I have played Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition on normal difficulty, 40 hours of gameplay, finished with 94% completion. If you enjoy games like that, you can put 9/10. If you are interested in history overall this game very nicely presents Inca and Maya culture, they desires, gods, artifacts etc. Exploration and searching for all shrines, items, letters is really enjoyable if history or peek into another cultures is what you are looking for. If you like to play game only for purpose of puzzles than probably this game do not tick very well, unless you are completionist person who enjoy games in that sense. If you played two Laras games before from this trilogy, you basicaly played it "all" and this game do not provide nothing more, except everything is just better - graphics, fluidity of gameplay etc. mayby only story doesnt feel "epic" as before, but I liked it nevertheless. Lara was in trilogy shown as woman with little girls mind wishing to be with her parents. Nothing changes here, nevertheless she kills like true brutal hero, ruthless and maliciously - if you enjoy stealth. Overall in many games I prefer take gun and shoot, but in this game stealth worked for me better, just only as fun factor. From me, its really cool. And I have really enjoyed one of cinematics where I said to myself: "ok, girl, now you are talking" and that scene will be one of my favorite for very long time. Its basically arcade game wth many scripted events, and game provides more cinematic experience than before. You can use only one type of any weapon or armor - most probably at hard difficulty another weapons make difference. If you are able to forgive illogical things, than this game is really good. Played on projector 110" screen, RTX on - full

GhostWire: Tokyo9
Aug 24, 2022
Beginning is mysterious and such atmosphere is present more or less whole game. Walking within streets, jumping on the roofs and collecting all what you can is just fun. Reason for hunting all what you can is appealing because rewards are good for maxing out your character. RPG elements are not something really needed maybe except creating bird to pull to, but almost all little bonuses makes game feel a bit better and better and allows you to try out what combination are most effective and what combination makes you feel like good wizard. Maxing out character is present whole game and once you learn how much damage and time you need to release ghost to their realm, you are trying makes your personal record higher. Its rather fps game but stealth is fun too and overall playing with detection system brings fun tension along with "how many ghost I can send to their realm at once". Graphics is great. Of course it can be seen graphics is more focused for consoles, nevertheless all makes world believable even though its rather fantasy. Lightning and contrast are simply superb. Black is black, white is white, no crap like in many games where sometimes you feel like fog is present. I guess it can be 8/10 but this game is simply so fun, atmospherics, no frustration, great fluid combat, satisfying progress. You can simply run through game and enjoy every aspect. For example side mission are nice, are short and are helping create atmosphere and learn how people in Tokyo are/was living with their dreams and desires, hopes and regret, mistakes and redemption etc. Simply: game is fun! OLED, RTX without reflections as reflections makes graphics not very transparent, so used default reflections.

Black Mesa9
Jul 27, 2022
Black Mesa showed there are still games that are focused on atmospheric world and gameplay. And along with exploration and with moments of nice surprises make this game 9/10. What a great feeling is when you go forward through this world and you basicaly has no idea what to expect, but you still somehow know there is something new just around corner; or there is what you already know but it is enhanced to level when you just simply want to see more. Graphics is very consistent, quality of models sometimes vary, but still its somehow original and some places are top even without todays technologies. Just sometimes I stopped to watch enviroment and said to myself: damn, those guys has good imagination.. Its fast paced, you can quickload, quicksave. You have control over your character all time, cutscenes are simply happenign no matter if you watch them or move forward and you dont loose control over your character. its similar to Dead Space - you are simply there. There was some things I didnt like, but game do not make habit of repeating itself so once you go through it, you wont see it again in another form. Also imo some parts of Xen was a bit too long like its a bit different game then previous parts and from time time changed pace of game, nevertheless it was still great but a little bit unbalanced in how you feel about it. ...and I dont like jumping parts in whatever fps game .). Its one of rare games I am considering give it 10. Its almost there. For everyone who like to enjoy atmospheric world, fps and enjoy games which do not waste your time I would recommend it. Many great feelings. Superb game. Played with OLED, 5.1 surround.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor8
May 4, 2019
This game is about maxing out your character and kill every orc you can see. You can play stealth for a while, you can aim bow to start combo, but real fun is when you cut heads off. I have restarted many times quest only to get max points to maximize character and to be simply better/more skilled in this slaughter orc game. I was not expecting much from this pure gamepad arcade game, but in the end game was so fun. 38 hours of gameplay to finish story line due picking all possible quests is fairly ok. Those side quests is what the game is really about. Story I liked but this game is definitely not about story. Story is shorter than drinking cold beer on Sahara. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is about killing everything. I wanted to like system to get max level rune or to max enemy level but it doesnt work very well for me as no matter how high level your enemy is, they are easy to kill but still its so satisfying. Few times you will have to figure out how to kill some enemy, but thats all - this game is rather brainless. It take some time till you get into the mood, but once you are in it, you will have real fun. This fun sometimes is 10/10 but 8.5/10 is most accurate overall.

If you liked games like Alien Isolation and System Shock 2, there is no doubt you will enjoy this game a lot. In the beginning game feels more like horror crawler, somewhere in the middle its rpg with tactics opportunities, to be at the end pure fps shooter with desire to hunt more "power-ups". Atmosphere of this game is superb. Game changes its motivation and feelings from horror feel to call to power, and it loose nothing from desire to explore and to find ways how to deal with levels and enemies in more effective way. Exploring and will to check previous places just to find out what is behind those doors is present almost whole time. If you enjoy playing games and trying to get maximum from your character and what game provides, you will not be disappointed. I was not expecting much from the game as I had almost zero information about it. Once I found out what is going on and where this game is taking place it boosted the game a ton. On 2nd play through game do not offer much if at first play you made everything that could be done, but 35 hours of joy from first play and 14 from 2m6 this game is worth every dollar you paid for. Played with 3D Vision and I can say: I had a blast! ps: if you played System Shock 2 and have feeling, like you have been playing this game before.. well, yes, you did, but it doesnt matter, its really good :)

After finishing game on normal difficulty its 9/10 game. In the beginning game is rather 6/10. Once you leave Berserk city game start to show what is really about. There are 10/10 hours of gameplay where walking around and desire to learn more about the world, adapt to enemies and enviroment, its exploration part will make hours in real world pass like minutes. In fact after 70 hours in the game there was no wish to turn the gamet off. I have been playing game on gamepad, but I believe mouse keyboard is better option to fight more effectively using jatpack. Nevertheless once you learn how patterns of enemies are and you adapt, you will be able to defeat each enemy on both: gamepad and keyboard/mouse. On the other side gamepad gives game its tempo and makes game in that sense very constant. I was trying with mouse and keyboard, its better in some ways, but gamepad still wins if atmosphere is what you are looking for rather than min maxing your character and confront enemies in most effective way. This game is RPG that really deserve to be called RPG game. Better stats, better weapons, boosts etc. all are changing how game feels and how to get through harder fights or explore unhealthy enviroments. Skipping fights was bread and butter in the beginning for me; but once leveled up and learned all those stuff game provides along how to fight, there was no reason to skip fights ever again. I would recommend this game for every player who likes RPG as there are no much games like that these days. For all new to RPG genre: with a bit patience, you will be rewarded with unique experience and it will make you think about real world as well as this game is touching topics, that are worth to think about.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 45

I have spent two days in this game, 4 hours each day. Game was given to me as a buyer of new CPU. I have played CoD first and second parts. It was fun - single and multiplayer. 8/10, multi even better. Black Ops 4 tries to be played like Quake games and lost its original form and feeling. Movement and crosshair "swing" is laughable and annoying. Hit boxes are huge - I was shooting next to guys head and killed him... I would like to write something nice, but everything this game provides was done by somebody else and better. I have no idea how this can get 8/10 from professionals critics. I wouldnt pay for this 60 bugs. Actually I feel to be paid I have spent 8 hours in this game. Un-installed. If players enjoyed CoD, now they can freely look at other brands, because they will find out, CoD is simply copy paste, nothing more and nothing less.
