Yeahhhh it's nearly perfect. This is unfortunately my current favorite 2-D platformer. It's just so fun exploring every chapter and collecting as many strawberries as I can. Replaying this game is still such a blast with such intuitive platforming controls and a fun story. I will say, I would give it an 8/10 for its simplicity, but the story and themes I took from this game left me utterly surprised and it was something I did not expect to get from here. Overall, it's a great game. A near-perfect one if the price was just lower as I don't tink there's enough content to warrant a $35 price tag. However, I have spent a long time playing this game so I'm unsure...

This is a damn good game This being my second even FromSoftware game, I was met with surprise. The game was difficult but never felt unfair. The challenge was high but never impossible. The biggest gripe I had with the game was the rigid leveling system. Items and upgrading equipment had me very confused and even now, I am left having to YouTube/Google certain things. And I do have a slight issue with the late-game difficulty, where I felt rewarded for being upper-leveled to just feel like I'm at square one in the late game. However, the pros of this game outweigh the cons. I enjoy the world. Never has a world felt as rich as it does in an open-world video game. This cracks my top 3 open-world, right behind Red Dead II and Tears of the Kingdom. And then the combat... it's so fun. Learning the enemy move set and having the ability to use spells make the game so much more fun. I gained a whole other experience playing this game that I haven't felt since a Zelda title release. Definitely one of my favorite games of all time now.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom9

This is as close to a 10/10 as a game can get with this level of scale and adventure. I have a lot of flaws with this game. There's too much dialogue, the UI ****, the sky islands are barren, the cutscenes for the dungeons are boring, etc. etc. etc. But all these flaws completely fail to ruin my experience with the game. This game gave me an emotion that no other game could have given me. I don't want to do a spoiler review but I can write so much about it. Some of my favorite moments in not only Zelda but gaming history, come from this game and it took me 150 hours to finally decide to fight Ganon. And the ending was... simply fantastic. Maybe I'm biased or my love for the franchise blinds me to its flaws, but I have not had this much fun with a game since Mario Odyssey nor Celeste. I don't want to write more. Just know, there are critiques one could give the game, but the highest of highs remain here and I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. I wondered before what Breath of the Wild was missing when I played that game. It wasn't the weaker abilities; it wasn't the lackluster ending; it wasn't the empty Hyrule. It was one thing: a heart. The charisma and wit of Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword were missing in Breath of the Wild. This game has it. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom... has it all. If they just tweaked a few more things and I'd give this a perfect rating

| Wondrous Future with video game *stuff* | This game lacks one thing: good game development. It's a shame that a game with such an intrinsic open-world and investing characters is surrounded by the most typical video game bugs. you can be **** into a moment from the game, but be completely taken out the moment a character starts moving like a robot or glitches over an idle body. Triple A games should not have these issues. Red Dead 2, Breath of the Wild, among other games, never had these sort of issues that can completely take you out ****. It would be a 10/10 game 12 years ago, but not by today's standards. However, with that complaint away, there is so much to appreciate. From the many objective and side-story stuff you can do, to the fun mini missions spilled throughout the map. it doesn't feel like a Ubisoft copy-and-paste world. Although there are a lot of repeat missions, there's a story behind it, and changes that makes each experience feel unique. For the most part. Driving through Night City is amazing, despite ur car being an absolute tank. And the story, although boring at times with it's heavy-handed future-talk dialogue, still manages to be entertaining in terms of its characters. Overall, i do recommend playing the game. There were only a few times where I had to reload a save file because of some glitch, but never did it get annoying. Again, that's what holds the game back for me. If it had no glitches whatsoever, I'd likely give this game a low 9/10, but they really do **** you out of the game. There are many minor flaws, from the unintuitive driving controls to the bad tutorial to how many wordsss it has (there is an unnecessary amount of reading). However, I really didn't mind except in specific moments. Solid game overall.

Batman: Arkham Knight7

| A Weaker Ending | I was never a "huge" fan of the Arkham series, mostly due to its basic combat system and endless amounts of "fluff" (small tasks where you just push a single button). And this game isn't much different in that regard. However, I still very much enjoy all these games. Adventuring throughout Gotham is always fun, and the Metroidvania-like missions are always exciting, with a mysterious and thriller-like tone. The reason why I consider this the weakest in the trilogy (ignoring Origins) is because of two reasons: The BatmoTank, and the story. BatmoTank is the most talked about critique in the game, but with good reason. It always slows down your enjoyment of the game, as you have to stop, shoot robotic tanks, drive, and repeat. The problem is not necessarily that it's not fun, but rather how repetitive the mission is. And the story... it's good in concept, but in the context of the games, it feels very out of place and predictable. Furthermore, the side-mission storylines are nothing to ride home about either, with unfulfilling resolutions and forgettable storylines. The main storyline is still dramatic and good, just predictable. Though overall, the game is still filled with enjoyment, with some of the best graphics that even today's games (Jan 2023) cannot compete with, along with fun missions and the best side character in all of gaming (I won't spoil it, but you'll know who. They're there throughout most the game.)

| Best Multiplayer Game Out There | This is a multiplayer game. First and foremost, it is a multiplayer game meant for you to play with a friend (or rather, a partner, **** managed to find someone) and I think it excels in that aspect. It is the perfect multiplayer experience, with an interesting comedic story, fun gaming elements, and enough competitive and cooperative moments that add variety to the game. Overall, this game is fun. However, I do think that the game can be way too easy, and many of the cutscenes are just... bad. Whether that be the basic graphics or the heavy-handed story, it just isn't as good compared to the creativity embedded throughout the game. So much so, that it is nearly perfect.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia3
Dec 4, 2022
| Nothing Redeeming | I don't want to be too harsh in this game because there are certainly some things I enjoyed. From the combat, many of the characters, and a lot of ideas I thought were very good. However... there's nothing else. The game attempted to implement this exploration-dungeon thing, and I did not enjoy it. The game had different characters than the previous installments, and none are as memorable as Awakening's or Fates' characters. The story is interesting and builds up to big surprises, but nothing comes close to the Lucina twist or Grima storyline or Three Houses' twists or... yeah. Overall, this is a game that follows the Fire Emblem formula, but with nothing better than its contemporaries.

| The game that ruined 3D Metroidvanias for me | The reason why I do not like Batman: Arkham Asylum, Doom, Control, among others, is because of this game. It nearly perfected the Metroidvania format in 3D, with one flaw: Backtracking. Why is this a thing? In a game where the world feels rich, the puzzles are mind-boggling, the boss battles are fun, and the challenge is perfect... the game has one flaw that keep me from calling it a 10/10, and it's that. There are a few other nitpicks, but backtracking made my enjoyment of the game lower. However, it's still a 9/10 game. Why? Because everything else is perfect. For me to get invested in this 480p standard definition world better than I can get into 90% of modern games today, is impressive. And the coolest part is how balanced the game is. And the boss battles are always fun, not because of the difficulty (though the final boss is rather difficult in my opinion), but because it's fun figuring out how to defeat the boss. Another cool thing this game did was not give a story, but rather give you the option to find the story. There are these things you can scan to get the backstory to this world and it really helped build up the game and the world it's in. It's great. And nothing matches the vibe in the game. You feel a great sense of loneliness and dissolute adventuring that is very hard to find in other games. The music is perfect, the coloring is perfect, and the atmosphere is chilling. It's all perfect to give you the right tone to play this game in. Overall, the game is good. Definitely play it, I highly recommend it to all.

| Doom 1 but better | It's so f*cking cool. A better soundtrack, better platforming, better gameplay, more variety, and biomes that added different feelings throughout. My flaw with the game remains similar to the last, with the lack of variety (pew-pewing) but this time, the platforming is way better, with the ability to instantly try again, and climbing is way more intuitive, and actually, everything is just way more intuitive. Exploration still feels like a little bit of a drag, as there aren't any puzzles or anything cool to explore in the first place, but I will say, the upgrade system is way better along with the tone of the game being better than the last. Overall, the game is great, I highly recommend it and I'd rather play this game than the first one, any day of the week.

| One of the more overrated video games out there | You run. You kill. You platform. You run. You kill. You Platform. My biggest gripes with the games are around the exploration system. Shooting and defeating enemies is always a blast, but exploring halts the game to a screeching halt almost every time. Finding stuff doesn't ever feel rewarding, the platforming is the easiest platforming out there, and every location in the game just feels like the same location but a switched-up maze. It can easily be compared to the Metroid Prime games, where you explore and find stuff to advance, except with more "pew-pew" and "bam-bam". However, Matroid did it better. There were actual biomes; there was a feeling of loneliness and dread, mystery, and wonder. There were moments of build-up and challenge; there were puzzles and challenges that made the game more than just shooting. This game just shoots. That's not necessarily a flaw for the game. That's what it went for, but more variety would've definitely benefited the game, along with biomes or environments that could've added more of a dynamic for this game. Overall, it's mid. Overrated and fun at points, but even pew-pewing got tiring.

| Turning a game into an Experience | The game is fantastic, with graphics that will definitely test how time manages with the future of video games, and a story is perfectly woven together that makes me surprised they managed to pull this game off. There's a web of stories and conflicts and relationships and enemies and storylines to follow that should make it jarring for the player, yet never does it become incomprehensible. The tone of the game is consistent throughout, never feeling like it's too much or too little. However, The most impressive aspect of the game, to me, is how the story doesn't serve the game, rather the game serves the story. The gameplay is slow. That is a gripe I have with the game, with *way* too many missions where all you do is... follow. It really halts the game down and makes it hard to get into at first. But in that same vein, there's a reward, with a shootout or a chase or something that adds to the excitement of the game. And the story is levitating it all, wondering what's gonna happen next or what the characters will do. Again, the game is slow. It's a bit too slow, and there is a chapter in the game that just felt completely unnecessary, but as an experience, it surpasses those flaws and by the end of the game, you'll want to play it again. I know the intro may be boring, but it gets better. Trust me. OH and the open world is AMAZING. Second-best in any video game, behind Breath of the Wild. However, it's an open-world that feels more alive than any video game out there.

| A Wonder Game in Platforming | The best aspect of this game is the platforming jungle from start to finish. There's so much variety, from the power-ups to the worlds to the biomes to the difficulty to the mechanics... there's just so much to do and it makes an amazing experience. The other best aspect of the game is the magical vibe, with every world you explore giving a different vibe than the next. The emotion you feel is different and the music you get can either make you feel lonely but in awe, or it can leave you dancing along with penguins in a random snow mission. The only tiny gripe I have with this game is the lack of movement options there are compared to the rest of the Mario series. But the game is still fun, the game is still wondrous, and the game is still one of the best games ever released.

| Nearly Perfect | The puzzles in this game are perfect. They are head-scratching but never frustrating. I think the difficulty level is perfect, and the tone of the game is perfect, with witty dialogue and a lonely tone. I absolutely love this game, and the multiplayer is by far, the best multiplayer I've played in any game. I don't have much to say other than praise. It's so intrinsic and fun to play with other people, and solo isn't boring. The fact that there is a puzzle game that doesn't feel like the slowest game in the world is a testament to how great this game is. It's a game that doesn't have that much variety, but never does it squander your enjoyment. I wish there was ever-so-slightly more, but this is as nearly perfect as a game can get.

Halo: Reach3
Nov 21, 2022
| Overrated | I do not have many compliments to give the game. I managed to finish it despite wanting to stop playing about three times, yet it still wasn't worth it. The story is interesting at first, but it's a story filled with underdeveloped characters and a monotonous tone throughout. There is no eerie feeling like in the original Halo, nor is there a simplistic story or an engaging one at least. It's a very standard Sci-Fi story, and the only ones that can enjoy the story are those who are willing enough to learn the lore. The gameplay: it's repetitive. It's walk, shoot, walk, shoot, walk, shoot, walk into an open area, shoot. This is the entire game, with about two missions that changed it up by being the world's easiest platformer, and by being a part-time weak StarFox game. The game isn't entirely bad though. There are absolutely story moments that surprised me, and the gameplay is very fun at first. It's just about the halfway point where I kind of got disinterested and didn't care enough. It's a very standard alien shooter that wouldn't be as popular if the title "Halo" wasn't attached to it.

| A Disappointment | There's nothing to the game. It's a brawler with a fun premise, but nothing expanding that premise. It has the same game modes as every other brawling game, with a tourney mode and online gaming, and small other mini-games so that it makes you think this game is worth $60 bucks when it's not. I think the style of fighting is unique, and it's very fun to play at first. However, the game gets easily repetitive and there's not enough variety that warrants the game to be worth its value. There's not much more to say about the game, much like the game itself. Unique concept, but not enough to give it its own title. However, I will say that this is one of the best uses of the motion controls the Switch has to offer.

| A Must-Play JRPG | This is one of my favorite strategy games that have come out, with fun puzzling gameplay, an exciting story, and minor but vital mechanics that lift the game up in quality. Although the story does slow down for a subplot that was rather unnecessary, I thought (for the most part) it was engaging with the time-traveling mechanic and story turns, that made this story stand out more so than other JRPG stories. The gameplay was very interesting. The small mechanics that made this turn-based game different really added a lot, from the pairing system, the triangle system, and the skills that really turned the tide in some match-ups... it was all great. But by far, the best aspect of the game is the character support system. That is what makes this game great. Almost every character is unique, memorable, and interesting. The way the developers did that was great, with great character dialogue and interactions. There are even some characters you want to use not for skill, but for who they are. That's a sign of how well they made some of the characters. Overall, the game is amazing. It has a few other flaws, from the constant spawning of enemies and the small grind needed when playing in order to beat certain levels with a little more ease. But the game is still amazing and I highly recommend it.

| As Close As Perfect Can Get | The game has some undeniable flaws: The Water Temple is a bit tedious, there are two parts of the game that can feel a bit too cryptic, and Navi, a side character that serves as a guide for the player, is annoying. However, the game has far more pros than cons. The gameplay is fun. Combat isn't difficult, but neither is it too easy. It feels intuitive and easy to get used to. The story is amazing. An expanding world with interesting side characters and a story easy to follow, I can't help but consider this my favorite Zelda story. Its simplicity allows a lot to be desired, but also a lot that is fulfilled. The challenges the game brings are not too hard, but neither is it easy. It's fun solving what to do and how to do it. The world is small yet potent. There's surprisingly so much to do and lays a foundation for future Zelda titles, despite Hyrule being its smallest compared to the rest of the Zelda games. And the best part of the game: the tone. The feeling you get playing the game is that of child-like wonder and a genuine sense of adventure. It can be serious when it needs to, funny, happy, and scary, and yet never does it feel like one tone overrides the other. And the gameplay (as i said) is the best part of the game, and easily compliments the story. Overall, the game is a 10/10 Closer to a 9 than a Perfect
