Marvel's Spider-Man 20

A disappointment of epic proportions. I really enjoyed the first Insomniac Spider-Man game along with Mile Morales, but Spider-Man 2 is truly Spider-Mid. Poor story, poor character portrayals, and outing Peter in his own IP... C'mon, Insomniac -- do better.

I don’t know what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn’t this. It might have been the $90 price tag (I'm in Canada) that had me thinking I was getting a AAA next-gen experience, but I was very wrong. The graphics are improved, but the gameplay stinks of a two generation old 3D game. Even if you’ve never played this game before, the gameplay is so old and outdated. I’m giving it a 0 because this game is everything that is wrong with the industry. PlayStation is driven by corporate greed and charging people $70 - $100 for an old rehashed product in the middle of a recession is out of touch and just gross.

Sony Interactive Entertainment ripped a page out of EA's dirty rotten scoundrel business model and decided to used car salesman the hell outta this game. May 11, 2022
The overriding question Horizon Forbidden West left me with is ‘when will its prospective audience grow tired of the tired conventions that underwrite so many go-and-save-the-world adventure games?’ As much as I appreciated the fun that came from smashing up dinosaur robots, Horizon Forbidden West won’t earn a spot in my long-term memory.

I've never been the biggest fan of the Final Fantasy series, but this game is a lot of fun. It's a great entry into a "Soulslike" game, too. The combat is what makes this game -- it's so satisfying to master and pull off. Runs silky smooth on Xbox Series X, which is a bonus.

This is one of the most immersive and engrossing games I've played in a long time. The story and voice-acting are fantastic. The graphics are incredible. The setting and environment are perfectly woven into the theme of the game. Gameplay is fun and intense. And don't get me started on the music. This game certainly doesn't deserve all the negative reviews critics have given it. It isn't perfect and has its flaws (slow start, minor bugs/glitches), but **** all if it isn't one of the best experiences I've ever had playing a video game.

I don't usually go for this type of game, but something about Control sparked my interest enough to give it a try. It looked unusual and unique, with an interesting premise. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night7
May 22, 2020
This game should be called Bloodstained: Farming of the Night, because you'll be farming well into the night. Or Bloodstained: Ritual of the Farming, because it'll become a ritual every time you play. There's so much farming in this game, it's practically a farming simulator. I've never farmed so much in a game, and I've played some pretty intense MMO's throughout the years. You get the point. Bloodstained should be a good game. It has all the elements to make a pretty engaging Metroidvania styled game. Here's the problem if you would like to get the most out of the game: It's 1% story, 6% actual gameplay, 15% exploration, and 78% farming.

Death Stranding10
Nov 24, 2019
I feel strongly attached to Death Stranding after playing it, as I thought it was an original, unique and incredible experience. But honestly, there's a whole category of gamers who probably didn't feel that way. Even on the highest difficulty setting, the shooting/fighting element of the game is trivially easy and a lot of people will see that as the main gameplay. I looked forward to the peaceful emptiness of the world on a long delivery run, but to others it feels desolate. I found it extremely gratifying in building structures to traverse the landscape while connecting people in need. Gameplay mechanics were interesting, fun and felt rewarding when you finished a run. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and felt it completely captivated me. A lot of people just won't enjoy the concept. I don't think that makes it any less of a masterpiece.

Lost Odyssey10
Sep 15, 2019
Lost Odyssey (in my opinion) is by far the best RPG exclusive to hit the Xbox 360 console. And any console for that matter. I have been a major fan of RPGs since the original Dragon Warrior hit the NES, and have since played all in that series along with many others, including the entire Final Fantasy franchise. Lost Odyssey definitely holds its own against any other title I've played, and in some ways surpasses the others. It has a deep and rich story, supported by memorable characters you easily get attached to and empathize with. The battle system and pacing of the game compliment each other perfectly. Art design and graphics are absolute eye candy, with an amazingly beautiful soundtrack and score, rivaling the music in many Final Fantasy titles. It isn't a surprise as it is composed by the legend Nobuo Uematsu himself. With Xbox One backwards compatibility, I feel fans of RPGs owe it to themselves to experience this title at least once.
