Ahmad avoids badass action-girl tropes by drawing out the character’s sadness and fallibility. Who is Erin Carter? A haunted woman whose dreams and regrets make her a bracing outlier within a genre dominated by interchangeable superheroes and superspies.

Mr. Henshall provides quite the novel mix of the decent and the ruthless, the rational and the menacing. He is used economically, but as a potent, overly rational counteragent to Ms. Ahmad's comparatively impulsive and guilt-ridden Erin, the result being a very convincing chemistry. And a series that maintains momentum throughout.

Wow. Very well done; normally the “powerful woman” rage is pretty unbelievable in film and television lately with the physics of fight scenes, and plausible action with female roles taking out big, bad villains, etc…however this series is so very well acted out, and almost every action scene was so well scripted, rehearsed and delivered…pretty riveting story line and portrayal. Very well done, indeed!

To be clear, this series was inconsistent, uneven, and wildly improbable. Despite innumerable flaws, I enjoyed watching it. The creators added a ridiculous number of fight scenes to make it exciting, but these were often silly and dull. Erin's choices were always wrong yet she survived. How could I possibly enjoy something so ridiculous? I can't tell you, but I did.

Despite some plot contrivances in the first episode, we’re still recommending Who Is Erin Carter? because Evin Ahmad does a good job making Erin a bit more credible.

Although the acting is fine and I will always appreciate a cinematic shot of Barcelona, where the show was filmed, there is nothing especially unique or compelling about this show.

Who Is Erin Carter? is not convincing (at least outside the scenes that Watson – a preternaturally gifted actor doing a great deal with woefully little – is allowed to dominate). Nor is it suspenseful.

Evin Ahmad plays a British teacher in Barcelona who witnesses a supermarket robbery. That's only the beginning of the mystery behind her past, which gives way to the troubled, sometimes exciting and occasionally surprising plot that unfolds. She has a family to protect, while fighting to hide the truth. Every ep has at least one good twist that keeps the story compelling. Ahmad's character seems harmless, but can she unleashes the ruthless side without falling into the "action" mold (the fights feel real and brutal). This isn't a memorable series, but it's narrative twists make for easy entertainment

This is yet another ridiculous Netflix "mystery action thriller" full of idiocies and **** audience is supposed to believe that a dark woman of color has a genetic daughter who is lilly white and has none of her features (other than a mouth full of swear words, which both share). A Spanish nurse and part-time substitute teacher can somehow afford to live in the hills of Barcelona in a huge house with an ocean view, and everyone in the neighborhood and in local hospitals talks English. A petite woman who hasn't trained in five years can routinely take on and outfight killers twice her size. Do not try this at home.
