Like any bored and self-obsessed person, the second season of Nobody Wants This is just looking to start drama when there really isn’t any there.

These side stories give you too much time to think, which means you spend more sussing out potential red herrings than paying attention to the action (Lester’s widow is played by Dianne Wiest, and heaven knows that nobody with a voice like that can be trusted in a murder comedy). And maybe this is all the point.

It’s obvious that series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and their writers, are having fun with the introduction of new characters and settings.

Perhaps because we know that Wash survives to adulthood, it’s those older years that are more interesting (even if his youth is spent evading capture in a rudimentary Hindenburg or befriending pirates).

Not every moment of The Bear Season 4 is perfect (and it’s still most certainly not a comedy). But, with its message that you can’t save someone else until you save yourself, it might be the most honest one yet.

The story they’ve [showrunners Yahlin Chang and Eric Tuchman] opted for isn’t hope exactly, but more wish-fulfillment. If you are a progressive who has sat through too many awkward Thanksgiving dinners with conservative relatives or who cackles at every post in the Leopards Ate My Face subreddit, then has Hulu got a show for you.

Even the most pompous personalities—cough, Asher Grodman’s finance bro Trevor Lefkowitz—thrive and grow and can be more-or-less content to be stuck somewhere for eternity as long as they’re with others who make it bearable. The fourth season of Ghosts, which premieres at 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 17, hammers this message home with the introduction of a novelty for an otherwise positive series that just happens to be about dead people: a legitimately scary ghost.

Nobody Wants This hasn’t convinced me that Joanne and Noah are a couple worth the fight.

Becoming Karl Lagerfeld just barely scratches the surface of what kind of a person the designer was. Viewers don’t truly understand the roots of his motives and evil doings. And, therefore, we cannot really attempt to align with him, nor hate or mock him for them.

It has its merits as a Homeland-type series for those of us craving more heart-pounding, international spy fare, but more than anything, it may just be proof that the Peak TV bubble has most certainly popped.
