If the last episode can maintain the quality of the previous seven, The Boys Season 5 may just be one of the show's best. It has all the gore, dark comedy, action, and vulgarity that you would expect, while also never veering too far out of control ahead of the final hour.

Happily for those fans still interested in this singularly irreverent and bloody show, something feels different this time around. .... For the first time in a long time, The Boys has me unable to look away.

Creo que la serie ha estado mejorando bastante, esta temporada es de las mejores, no es lenta, van al punto y la satira super atinada

This show is the best superhero show outside of Invincible! From what I’ve got from the first 2 episodes was close to exactly what I wanted so far and I can’t wait to see the rest! Will be sad to see it go.

It’s progressively broadened into a take on the entire American project, a mission creep that’s sometimes been a strain yet allows the home stretch — minus the series finale, which was withheld from critics prior to review — to wield some heft.

The shifts they and the series take not only deepen each character arc, but also allow a show that sometimes feels too humorous for its own good to tackle ideas of hero worship and revolutionary acts of violence.

While we’re a bit disappointed in the dark turn The Boys has made as it goes into its final season, we’re looking forward to seeing how Eric Kripke and company bring the story to an end.

With its social allegory eclipsed by the six-o’clock news, then, The Boys loopily stumbles its way through a rather straightforward, logical conclusion.

The Boys, unfortunately, doesn’t have anything new to say. It’s trying too hard to speak to the times, but having a scene in which Homelander talks about making this a god-fearing, safer nation again, to be met with chants of “USA! USA!” has no depth. I hope a proper map has been drawn for the show’s conclusion, but the meandering twofer of a premiere ebbs and flows in quality.

Superheroes saving the world? The Boys laughs at that idea—and then tears it apart. This isn’t your typical cape-and-glory fantasy. It’s brutal, unapologetic, and way too real for comfort. Power here doesn’t inspire—it corrupts. And the show makes sure you feel every bit of that. Homelander isn’t just a villain—he’s a walking nightmare hidden behind a perfect smile. And that’s what makes the series hit so hard. The writing doesn’t hold back, the violence isn’t for style—it’s part of the message.
What truly works is the balance. Insane action, dark humor, and sharp commentary—all hitting at the right time. It knows exactly when to go over the top and when to get disturbingly ****’s not flawless—sometimes it leans a bit too much into shock value—but it never loses its grip. Final Verdict: Not heroic. Not clean. Just brutally honest entertainment. Cinema wins. Mediocrity loses.

A tacky attempt at trying to reinvent the superhero genre, the action is low budget, the acting is like porno acting, and the storyline is meh.

Can we not put agenda in my favourite superhero series?! Now it is just a leftist political manifesto masked as a TV series. S1 and S2 was great, downhill from there. Gave S5 a chance, watched first episode, hard pass.

Not even a full 20 minutes into The Boys season 5 and the script reads like some ketamine addicted autistic redditor fired every liberal buzz word shes heard in the last 3 years from a confetti canon and passed it off as a script. In other words its not good. Its bad.
