..this is one of those times I have to either question my own sanity ..or society's ..IMHO ..THIS is just a STUPID show! ..jokes are NOT funny (they're not even jokes) ..and even the premise is braindead ..I dunno someone sed this is from the guy who mad SCRUBS and I LOVED that show ..and I gotta admit that the premise of THAT show was "don't take this TOO seriously) ..maybe that's it ..this show hasn't "suspended my disblief" enuf to make it clear that they aren't somewhat trying to be realaistic ..I dunno maybe some "Doctor Dorian's GOOFY comedy-in-my-head- flashbacks" are needed ..but this just misses the mark for me ..it's too bad for me cuz I'd love another show that captures the lighting in a bottle that was SCRUBS

Seasons 1-2 were amazing. Season 3 went woke and was terrible. It made the show less about football and more about a political agenda. Would not recommend watching season 3 it’s terrible.

Starts off so strong, but if you are going to evaluate the series as a whole you need to know how quickly and how badly it goes downhill. By the middle of the 2nd season I hated it.

Absolutely loved Ted Lasso, one of the few new shows that once I started watching it hooked me and I ended up binging all 3 seasons in a week.

Ted Lasso Season 2 takes bold swings that both elevate and occasionally hinder its storytelling, resulting in a season that feels more ambitious yet less consistent than its predecessor. While the first half struggles with pacing and a lack of clear direction, the show’s signature charm, heartfelt character development, and standout arcs—most notably Nate’s descent—keep it compelling. The second half finds stronger footing, delivering some of the series’ most memorable episodes, and despite uneven execution, the emphasis on kindness, growth, and emotional depth ensures Season 2 remains a rewarding continuation.

I liked this, so-called, TV show, it is just funny and entertaining with some deep thoughts to think about, like love, humanity... but then it's back to being funny again!

I needed this show. I saw it late, recommended by a friend and I'm happy I decided to give it a shot.

Absolutely amazing, one to watch with your loved ones as it takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions through and through. Season one and two are both good but it would be naïve to not address the issues of an agenda that sesson 3 holds. Regardless, it was still enjoyable if you are able to look past it for the 12 episodes.

First two seasons were really good, then they went full Orange Man bad and they totally lost me. Keep all of your damn political beliefs out of my shows. I don't care who you like and who you don't like. I want to forget about the stuff happening in the greater world for an hour everyday. That's why we watch movies and TV is to escape.

Years later, I'm still in shock to think about how many people need to be spoon-fed syrup this much for their everyday mental health. So while it's still bizarre that a show with the consistency of a rainbow having a kid with a marshmallow accrued a cult army, I'm just going to give my review. The only thing "unpredictable" about this show is just how safe they are gonna play this next sub plot. There are professional critics out there saying this show is soapy, cheesy, and lazy... and they finish up that sentence with a "and it works brilliantly!" So maybe I can't see the forest and only trees, or when someone serves me cheap noodles, a packet of salt, and a few dried pieces of onion, all I taste are the cheap ingredients. I feel like the Simpsons would have taken Ned Flanders on this journey for half an episode, and it would have been hilarious. But ask Matt G. to make three seasons out of it? I think it would have been much more than this show. I am giving this show some points, and that's mostly due to how light and fluffy this show is. It takes absolutely nothing from me to watch, and I do occasionally desire something like that. But it's not the only show of it's kind, nor the best. Maybe I just don't get it, maybe I think the creator and lead actor is secretly evil and has fooled so many of us... but I just think this is kind of a "meh" show.

this is one of my fav series from 2k23 and really fun to binge. it had everything a comedy series could have.

This is lazy, low-effort garbage. Quirky stereotypical British characters meet fish out of water American, and an implausible plot. How'd it get nominated for so many Emmys?

Easily one of my favorite shows if not my #1 all time. Almost every episode leaves me feeling more optimistic about the world. It’s funny, emotional, and entertaining. I couldn’t recommend it more

A comedic show with a ton of heart and strong acting performances with an incredibly likable cast, but also a plethora of emotional moments that tug at your heartstrings. This show also has one of the best portrayals of a panic attack I have seen in media. Also, Ted has a goated mustache.

I enjoyed it, it was interesting and fun, showed lots of football, which I enjoy, had nice individual stories of the characters. Overall was nice to watch and had a nice ending.

Ted Lasso is like Forrest Gump on a soccer pitch, and every bit as insulting. If Lasso is such a naive, simple-minded idiot, there's no way he'd be competent enough to get hired for, much less carry out, the jobs he's doing. And if he's so subtly wise, his naive, simple-minded persona is just a cynical act. Either way, he's less a character than a cheap means of generating hokey sound-bites and manipulating audiences (and, apparently, awards voters). Also, he's a multi-millionaire (what notable college or pro coach isn't these days?), but that seemingly has no bearing on his life. Because that wouldn't be quite as charming, would it? The other characters are developed only so much as is necessary for the next ridiculously implausible subplot. The show is like a Richard Curtis movie without Hugh Grant-- or any of the wit, spontaneity, or verve. How many down-home, aw-shucks, salt-of-the-earth happy idiots do you know who offhandedly quote Walt Whitman? Yeah, me neither.

It may have tempered down during its last season but gosh dang it if this isn't good old wholesome heartwarming television! The character arcs are beautiful even though flawed. It isn't just about Ted but everyone who was part of this team. This show has given me enough goodwill for the next several years that will pass before we get something as delightful as this!

The first two seasons of Ted Lasso showcased a unique blend of humor, heart, and character growth. Jason Sudeikis' portrayal of the optimistic and affable Ted Lasso brought warmth to the screen, and the supporting cast added depth to the narrative. Unfortunately, the third season failed to uphold the standard set by its predecessors, stumbling into a series of missteps that ultimately tarnished the show's charm. One of the major issues with the third season of Ted Lasso was the excessive focus on certain plotlines, specifically the inclusion of three homosexual storylines and a woke immigration plotline. While diversity and representation are vital in storytelling, it felt as if the writers were ticking boxes rather than creating organic and well-developed narratives. These storylines appeared forced, lacking the authenticity and depth that the show had initially demonstrated. The overcrowding of plotlines also contributed to the downfall of the season. Instead of honing in on the core characters and building upon their established arcs, the show attempted to juggle too many storylines simultaneously. This resulted in a lack of focus and character development, leaving viewers disconnected from the emotional journeys they had invested in during the previous seasons. Additionally, the once-heartfelt humor seemed to lose its sincerity, replaced by contrived and forced attempts at comedy. The witty and clever writing that made the show stand out was noticeably absent, replaced with shallow and predictable jokes that failed to land. It is disheartening to witness a series that started with such promise spiral into mediocrity. Ted Lasso's third season failed to deliver on the expectations set by its earlier success. Instead of evolving and deepening its characters and narratives, it regressed, relying on superficial plotlines and lazy humor. In conclusion, the third season of Ted Lasso missed the mark on several fronts. The excessive focus on certain plotlines, the overcrowding of narratives, and the decline in genuine humor all contributed to its downfall. As a devoted fan of the show, it is disappointing to witness such a regression. Hopefully, the creators will take note of the criticisms and find a way to recapture the magic that made Ted Lasso so special in the first place.

Somebody I care about loves this show. Unfortunately I cant share my feelings on Ted Lasso with them, so i will here. Absolute garbage. My first complaint being that the show refuses to let any kind of tension exist. Corny on every account, and even worse it pretends to have some cutesy understanding of just how corny it is, but not any kind of awareness that would make someone in the writers room churn out an intriguing script. Every single conflict is resolved in five minutes, which ironically is so deeply unsatisfying. There can't be a single ounce of **** by a character, unless it's immediately explained by some tragedy in their backstory, which makes them completely forgivable. Obviously an amount of hyperbole is being used here. NPC characters, boring plot lines, hack jokes. Just an absolute zero on every account.

Only so far caught season 1. The series is 'OK' and there are a few comments and scenarios I've been able to smile at but on the whole, I've found it rather bland and simplistic. The actors work hard and generally very well but the material they're working with is too vanilla and too woke / PC to boot. It's also covered in far too much American syrup to be really funny. The entire basis of this is the "loopy American amongst the starchy Brits who manages by his zaniness to get them to all lighten up" and that one has been visited endless times since the 1930s. There's little new here. It's a very jaded theme that has been done far better elsewhere - and very frequently. Add to that its determination to be inclusive and the above-mentioned 'sugary supercute' and overall, I found myself wondering why I was watching it. At least in series 1, there's no edgyness, no provocative humour and no real belly laughs. Sadly, this is reflective of the untold damage wokism and vanilla comedy has inflicted on the international humour scene over the past 20 years or so. Little wonder the old comedy sketches and series from the 1990s and earlier are so popular still. Will I watch more of this show? Not sure. For me at least, it's a close call.

Seasons 1 and 2 were 8s. Season 3 was a 5 and was the usual WOKE BS along with really funny material (these immoral sots can't help themselves, until they actually have to pay for their irredeemable drivel behavior). I watched every minute of seasons 1 and 2 but skipped through too much (20%) of season 3. Our view is: "definitely watch seasons 1 and 2 and prepare to skip through a fair amount of season 3. If season 4 is like season three then maybe skip through most of it."

Sad to see Ted Lasso finally “jump the shark” and devolve into politically correct tropes. More importantly, our main character Ted, is just sleep walking through the series. Oh well, like other COVID era series, Ted has lost its touch and simply isn’t that much fun to watch. Kinda sad actually.

After thoroughly enjoying the first season of Ted Lasso I can simply not bear a second more of this new seasons WOKE leftist propaganda, it is in your face, grotesque and COMPLETELY unnecessary. Very sad it had to go this direction…

The show has such good energy, the acting and soundtrack are great and the writing radiates positive energy. Every character is likable and feels like a real person, Jason Sudeikis is a comedic genius and plays the most good-spirited character I've ever seen on screen. This show alone is enough for me to want to keep Apple TV+.

We are at a moment in time when our toxic political environment has leeched into the way we talk to each other on our social media platforms, our TV, our podcasts, etc in a manner that has normalized decent people expressing vitriol to perfect strangers - Ted Lasso serves as an antidote to all that. The success of Lasso is not how funny, how complex or how odd the characters are - but from living in a world where simple kindness has become so novel that we crave seeing it on display in full throttle. At another place in time, Lasso would be just a syrupy sweet sitcom, no more novel than The **** Van Dyke Show, but in todays world the patience, acceptance and selflessness of Ted Lasso and his unflinching desire to see the best in people rather than the worst is nothing short of uplifting. It's a comedy and a self help guide to remind us we can be happy by making other peoples lives better. All that is driven through well acted characters who can carry an episode or two on their own, put together with Emmy level editing that seems to capture an incredible amount of story in 30 minute chunks and writing that rarely crosses the line of unbelievability to the point of slapstick.

Season 1 had so much heart! But as I watch season 1 and 2, I keep noticing one-liners that support the producer and lead actor's (Jason Sudeikis) extreme political beliefs. I've raised my guard more and more to character "Ted Lasson" as these out-of-place political and woke one-liners keep taking petty potshots at everyone that doesn't share his extreme political views. Shame. This show had so much going for it but now every episode feels like hanging out with a funny **** Hoping the **** won't turn their attention to me.

Ted Lasso is to cinematic and visual arts what American Oreo cookies and UK Cadbury chocolate are to culinary culture...just like professional US sports are to sport in general. Disgustingly sweet with inferior and simplistic ingredients, mass produced on an industrial scale, propped by millions of $ in marketing to appeal to the lowest common denominator. aka ANGLOSAXON PLEBS DELIGHT! Now, where is my Valrhona? And let's rewarch Hannibal season 2.

I decided to give this show a chance after it sweeped almost all categories at the Emmy's twice in a row. I thought they obviously must be because it's that good right? Wrong. Not because the show is terrible (it's not) but because it's flavorless. I mean it. It's one if the most inoffensive milk&toast series I've ever seen! Not only is it wholeheartedly on the nose but for a comedy it's deeply unfunny. You will not be laughing, you will actually be looking at other apps biding your time in-between gratuitous shirtless Brett Goldstein scenes(I literally texted my best friend each time an unnecessary shirtless scene was on.) This show is also glaringly **** does try to be interesting or have consequences for it's characters. Also the rampant stereotypes they try romanticize is troubling from the happy incompetent foreigner who despite being qualified is either a)dumbfounded by social clues b)sickeningly kind/virtuosic c)personality is their country of origin. It's actually kinda boring rather than offensive. It aims to teach that love and positivity are the key to everything. For example the title charater who's positive outlook is so suffocating his wife divorces him in the 2nd episode. Instead of that leading to an excavation of how toxic positivity can be harmful his wife is villanized as this family wrecking nag who isn't grateful for the husband she has which is frustrating. Trust the premise of this happy southerner who's just polite,unproblematic and kind gets old pretty fast. It would've been so game changing to see the reasons why Ted is how he is or a darker imperfect side: rather see someone learning to be better than a faultless Saint soccer coach. I will not be watching season 2. This was disappointing enough.

I was recommended by multiple colleagues and friends to give Ted lasso a chance. It has so many layers inside of a television show. Comedy, seriousness, long term storytelling, and sadness. I absolutely loved Ted Lasso and binged the two seasons in 3 days. I would highly recommend anyone who subscribes to Apple TV to give Ted Lasso a watch. I was able to finish the series in 3 days because each episode was such an easy watch yet I needed to know what happened next. I think it perfectly casted an American football coach coming to England coaching English fútbol with little knowledge.

This is a great little shown. Perfect for when you're down and want to feel all warm inside. Coach Ted has to be one of the most positive characters I've ever seen on any show. He could easily be annoying, but instead he comes out as smart, charismatic, and lovable person. This show is funny as hell too, made me laugh consistently each episode with surprisingly intelligent humor.

Ted Lasso (2020) is a comedy-drama series on Apple TV+ which is about an American Football college coach getting hired to move across the pond and coach AFC Richmond, an English Premier League Soccer team that is down on its luck. I always find it fascinating when an entertainment property sinks its hooks into me and doesn’t let up even though I’m not a fan of the setting and/or the backdrop. Some of the best examples off the top of my head I can give are the films Rush (2013) and Ford v Ferrari (2019), both of which take place in the realm of professional car racing, something I never had an interest in and yet I absolutely loved both of them. Similarly, I’ve never been a fan of watching Football (both versions) yet I adored watching Ted Lasso. The premise itself has enough of a draw to grab your attention at the start giving a fish-out-of-water type situation for the titular character, Ted Lasso, who knows nothing about Soccer (and not a lot about England either) and yet he is now in charge of a Premier League team. That alone, though, wouldn’t have been enough to carry the entire series as the novelty can die out after a while which is where the strong writing comes in. Having a great set of main, secondary, and tertiary characters who all have varying levels of depth to them interwoven with a clever, witty, and wholesome plot while maintaining a sense of realism and profundity makes this a wholly entertaining watch. Jason Sudeikis is an actor I have enjoyed in his various comedic outings from the past but I never would have thought that he would be in a role like this let alone absolutely killing it as the lead and giving one of the best performances I’ve seen recently. The thing about Ted Lasso is that while he is optimistic, looks at life from a positive angle, and is in the business of not simply coaching a team but coaching YOU as a person to become a better version of yourself, he is also flawed who has to wrestle with his own insecurities and demons reinforcing his character and he never comes off as too preachy or overindulgent to the point of annoyance as can be the case of characters who are supposed to be positive. Throw in several speeches and monologues with great wisdom+badass moments and you can’t help but love the guy. We all could use a Ted Lasso in our lives. Joining him are a plethora of characters who might come off as caricatures at first glance whether it’s the partner coach who is always there to help yet is mysterious played by Brendan Hunt, the experienced and aged sportsman looking at the last of his days in the sport played by Brett Goldstein, a younger talented sportsman who lacks wisdom played by Phil Dunster, a model who dates footballers played by Juno Temple, a CEO with misaligned intentions played by Hannah Waddingham, a secretary who gets laughed on by everyone played by Jeremy Swift, the locker room worker who gets picked on played by Nick Mohammad and so on but as the episodes progress, you can see the underlying strong writing and they all grow, expectedly or unexpectedly with Ted Lasso acting as the crux that makes it all possible and it’s genuinely wonderful to have multiple stories every episode with characters you grow to like or love in an overall wholesome wrapping. It also helps that everyone is on the top of their game with great performances all around. A good comparison I read in a comment about Ted Lasso is that it’s like Bojack Horseman but in reverse. Whereas the latter has a nihilistic viewpoint with lots of comedy yet it surprises you with gut punches and realism, the former has an optimistic viewpoint with lots of comedy that also surprises you with its gut punches and real-life lessons. I think it kinda fits. Also, PSA, watch Bojack Horseman if you haven’t, it’s a masterpiece. As for the negatives, I’d say some plot points weren’t as engaging, particularly in Season 2 which without knowing where they’ll take them, could turn out to be better or worse in retrospect. Season 2 as a whole didn’t feel as strong or tight as Season 1 even though it had some of the highest highs of the series so far. There is also a lack of prolonged thrilling matches, something you’d expect in a series revolving around Football to have. All in all, this is a MUST WATCH. A series I’ll highly recommend to everyone whether you’re a fan of the sport or not. It’s the kind of entertainment that everyone needs some time, something that’s uplifting, something that’s wholesome, something that is chicken soup for the soul, something that’ll give you escapism from your troubles of life and bring you back lighter and brighter. This series also has the best use of Rick Roll (Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley) I have ever seen. And if I were to rate it, I’d give Season 1 a 9/10, Season 2 an 8/10, and the overall experience so far of both seasons an 8.5/10.

First season was absolute perfection. By season 2 it seems like they're coasting. I'm guessing/hoping this was because the pandemic affected the script and acting. Maybe season 3 will improve.

not many shows tackle mental health, especially not comedies about football. one minute you're laughing and the next minute you're crying. every friday watching this show was like a warm hug

This show is such a feel good show without being too saccharine and manipulative. The problems that the characters face seem very real and the show is concerned with actually understanding human dynamics rather than brushing off sadness.

First season is great for the most part (8), an underdog sports team story, plot twists, moderately funny (comedy-drama), and mostly upbeat. Good characters and actors. Filmed at actual locations. Second season starts off similar but moves away from the focus on them playing soccer and more on their lives outside. There are some interesting episodes but it doesn't have quite the same feel good appeal of the first season, in fact almost the opposite (darker, more crying, a counselor becomes a frequent character). Some of the main characters can also be kind of annoying but it varies by episode. There's also A LOT of Apple product placement, mainly iPhones (multiple phone calls every episode with a lot of focus on the phones), iPads, Watches, and MacBooks. Also, all the music on the show and pop culture references are likely intended to encourage people to use Apple Music and Apple+.

Similar to the cast of characters, Ted Lasso manages to weave his way into your heart with overbearing enthusiasm and positivity but still manages to root and hope for his success throughout the series. The side characters go through fun little character moments like Roy's leadership and withering skillset, to Rebecca's complete 180, the show manages to provide some depth to its other cast members. A fun watches to honestly just put you in a good mood.
