First season is great for the most part (8), an underdog sports team story, plot twists, moderately funny (comedy-drama), and mostly upbeat. Good characters and actors. Filmed at actual locations. Second season starts off similar but moves away from the focus on them playing soccer and more on their lives outside. There are some interesting episodes but it doesn't have quite the same feel good appeal of the first season, in fact almost the opposite (darker, more crying, a counselor becomes a frequent character). Some of the main characters can also be kind of annoying but it varies by episode. There's also A LOT of Apple product placement, mainly iPhones (multiple phone calls every episode with a lot of focus on the phones), iPads, Watches, and MacBooks. Also, all the music on the show and pop culture references are likely intended to encourage people to use Apple Music and Apple+.

Production quality is very high, great cast / characters, some really stand out, premise is both funny, absurd, unnerving, and tragic. A 7 though because I think it goes way too hard on the dark angle and it starts getting very repetitive. They just need to change up the story more or the 3rd season's going to wear people out and ruin the series. Please just get rid of Fuches, he **** and is the real villain, we get it, can we move on now? It's not funny nor are we cheering on him miraculously surviving or manipulating people yet again for the millionth time. Hank is funny but again, that part of the show is getting repetitive. It's clear he doesn't want to be involved in organized crime, have him doing something else in season 3. Maybe Barry is no longer in this endless black mail situation but ends up in other situations where he needs to kill.

This is really a new series focused on Teela, not a reboot or continuation of He-Man as people were led to believe. Besides that, the main issue with the show is it is misandrist and the women characters would be considered toxic masculine if they were men. Men are presented as weak, dumb, extremely flawed, and bad while the women are righteous, smart, macho, arrogant, selfish, mean, and humorless, especially the Teela character. The original He-Man and She-Ra cartoons are nothing at all like this. They are much more light hearted. As everyone has noted, the main positive for it is the animation. The original series looks very dated visually but I highly recommend watching at least a few episodes if you haven't. They have a genuine 80s nostalgic charm to them and you can see how different they were compared to this one. Keep in mind the original show was meant for kids and to help sell the toy line associated with it.

It's almost a laugh track style sitcom but without the laugh track and pauses. Characters are too one-dimensional, the same quirks every episode. Also, LOUD isn't funny, so many screaming / loud parts in every episode, it makes it harder to binge and have on in the background. That said, it has some good moments, sometimes bringing up serious topics, sometimes more interesting multi-episode stories. The settings also all are or appear real, not like old school sitcoms where it's obviously a stage setup. Also, I'm not a fan of police shows, especially these days but it's not really about making the police look great and sometimes they fit in criticism of police issues in the US.

One of the few shows I still really laugh a lot when I watch though it varies per gag. Some aren't as funny, some are brilliant and the reactions of the public matter as well. I also like the positive vibe of the show and that they don't make it about the actors, though you see the same ones often, the show isn't about them. As for negatives, the biggest for me is how it's edited. I don't mind that the actual sound is muted and the human sound effects seem to be dubbed in so much, but they will replay the same sound effects a bunch of times in each sketch, most often when the person reacts to the gag. The dubbed, likely faked, laughter also comes off too generic, maybe a better laugh track could help. They could also use more variety of actors, especially the main guy who is in nearly every sketch (no idea how most of Montreal's residents don't already know to look out for these people given the show has been on for 20 years with the main guy in 90% of the sketches), and sketch ideas. There are so many variations of a few core sketches and after watching enough episodes, you'll see that.

Never understood the praise the show got, it is not on par with Friends and I think we'll see over time, it will not be as popular streaming. The writing is less funny, the characters are less likable (really don't like Barney), and story lines are not that intriguing. It also has that unappealing CBS visual filter, where you can instantly tell if it's a CBS sitcom. I personally prefer how NBC shows look. Like Friends, it peaked in quality the first few seasons and got a lot worse the last few seasons. CBS seems to have the dumbest sitcoms that appeal to a certain type of viewer, the same type that loves Big Bang Theory, also on CBS.

Great show. Highly recommend watching a few episodes if you've never seen it before. It's currently streaming on NBC's **** for free with no commercials. Oddly, though just about every episode has a murder in it, the atmosphere, music, and characters makes it feel calming and almost otherworldly. Even the murderers don't seem threatening and once caught give calm explanations as they are casually arrested. It's funny to think this tiny, idyllic town, Cabot Cove, is apparently murder and crime ridden. Each episode is full of twists and every character who isn't a show regular is made to appear suspicious. And that is perhaps the only real flaw with the show, it can be a bit formulaic and with so many episodes (around 12 seasons with 20 per season at nearly an hour each), it's hard to justify binge watching the whole thing. That time can be used for a lot of other things in our limited lives, even just enjoying other TV shows and films. I myself watch the episodes in the "best of Murder She Wrote" lists I found and some other special ones like holiday episodes and those set outside of Cabot Cove (actually Mendocino, CA btw). As is common with most "mystery" shows, every little thing can be a clue but they are often missing just enough details that you are not able to confidently figure it out before the main character (making sure you watch the whole thing I guess), at best, you can feel like you're solving at as Lansbury does but sometimes how she figured it out is just way beyond what was shown to the viewer prior.

The setting, music, and cinematography are well done and all of the actors are very attractive, so visually it's very pleasing but it's just not realistic at all unless you are among the very well paid salaried workers. She basically lives, works, and hangs out in the most charming areas of Paris and everyone she is around, including herself, look like models / former models. Both the culture clash (American in Paris) and the romance and the tension with other women are all really cliche. On the one hand, the mostly idyllic alt-reality escapism feels good at a time like we're in right now, but at the same time, if you're not well off and living a similar bougie lifestyle, it's very easy to feel envious and frustrated real life is nothing like this. Highly recommend watching Call My Agent! instead, an actual French comedy-drama series that is more realistic, though it exaggerates things for humor, and much better written. One of the actresses is actually in both shows. It's also on US Netflix right now with subtitles.

Standard Williams Street show in terms of art style, episode length, and humor. I've been watching their shows since Sealab. At first I was slightly disappointed, thought it wasn't as funny as it could have been but it got a lot funnier by season 3. The first 2 seasons were hit & miss and they were overdoing the pigeon character being a deviant supercreep, but they toned that down in season 3. Mike Tyson is great, smart choice. Still waiting for season 4 on Hulu.

Overall, I liked it and hope to see a second season. That said, it's nothing like what I and probably most people expected: something light-hearted, heavy on action resembling the comic book it's based off of. It's also not like what it seemed the first few episodes: a teen supernatural action drama similar to Buffy. It's hard to compare it to anything directly but it is darker, more serious, and complex than most likely expect (though it is more light hearted the first few episodes). ---- I liked all of the characters and actors except the model looking scam artists Ava meets and hangs around with the first few episodes. The rush towards a love interest also didn't work for me, it was often hard to watch. I didn't like the use of voice over but I get it's tricky conveying what she may be thinking and feeling early on without it since she was on her own. Halfway through the series, that stopped and the models and love interest are no longer a part of the story. ---- Watching it is more like watching a long film, which encourages binge watching to the end but makes it harder to rewatch out of order if it ever aired on syndication. Visually, it is very beautiful, the exotic old world Europe settings are real, not sets or cgi. The acting is superb for the most part. ---- At first, it feels like they were going for a Buffy vibe with the story (and complete with playing random generic modern pop music) so it's easy to start comparing the 2 but it definitely takes a darker, more serious direction halfway through. At that point, there are only some similarities but not in the general mood / vibe. I'm just hoping they have all of this figured out already and aren't writing new twists and subplots as they go, that is just a recipe for it becoming a confusing mess that will frustrate viewers. There is only a certain amount of that before it starts feeling cheap and pointless ("gotcha again!"). ---- Side note, there are 2 separate user reviews with different average scores that default to depending on if I load this on a computer or phone.

1st episode: 5/10, 2nd: 8/10, 3rd: 3/10. After solving the initial crime reported, 1st episode became too action-oriented, borderline James Bond. 2nd was more like the classic first 2 seasons and had some interesting twists, villain was well casted. 3rd was way too hard to believe, borderline supernatural and horror, logistically a lot of it seems impossible no matter how smart the villain is supposed to be, not really any mystery in the story. It seems like they tried to go too big on the shock surprise and do something different. SPOILER: Also, really hated the Moriarty character and casting in this series. The actor and character always came off like a dim-witted but cocky psychopathic yuppie banker bro given a bunch of cheesy one-liners by the writers. The original character was supposed to be a clever, older professor. Filling the finale with him saying a bunch of cheesy lines just made it even worse.

Great show that unfortunately flew under the radar (most people have never heard of it). I was lukewarm to it the first season but it really started falling in place by the second season and wish it went beyond 5. Matt LeBlanc's character is much deeper and overall much better than Joey in Friends. Although it's obviously exaggerated for comedic effect, I like the premise of the show, basically behind the scenes of how things work with TV networks, shows, actors, and agents. I also like that each episode is split between Matt, Beverly and Sean, and Carol and they intersect (though they intersect less in the last season). The main characters were good overall though always borderline a bit too much whatever traits they were giving them, though they most varied from exaggerated to more normal/realistic (aside from a few side characters).

9 is for the show as a whole, maybe a 5 for the 1st season. This is actually still one of my favorite TV shows overall. I prefer it over The Office, which it's obviously based off of. I liked the characters more for the most part (Dwight is hard to beat though), prefer the more absurdist comedy, the greater variety of settings, and that the characters weren't talking to the camera nearly as much. The first season was rough though. None of the characters were really fleshed out and wasn't as funny or positive as other seasons, but that is common for most TV shows as is the last season(s) "jumping the shark," which happened with P&R as well.

The season was weird, confusingly all over the place trying to cover 20 different things across many years in the future, overly sentimental, and not really funny. It basically felt like a final episode dragged out. The actual final episode was good and there were some good moments here and there. Probably better than the first season but I think the show was strongest from the 2nd to 5th seasons. I am also a fan of the show as a whole, actually prefer it over The Office, which it's loosely based off of. I know the last few seasons of most TV shows tend to "jump the shark" and the characters become increasingly exaggerated.

Nothing's really changed in this series. A few of the guests are kind of awkward as is Jerry occasionally. He's still aloof and thinks he knows everything about comedy and whatever else ends up being discussed. He's overall friendly and seems like he's easy to talk to though, so the show works despite that aspect of his personality. They often talk about their own insecurities and struggles. The Zach Galifianakis episode is the standout since he is really just being himself, which actually is noticeably different than what most people think of him as from his comedic persona. As for negatives with the show, what is the deal with the over the top Lavazza product placement? It is really obvious and distracting and takes away some of the charm. The way the conversations are cut can be confusing as they'll suddenly be talking and you realize you have no idea what they are talking about or how they got there, then a minute later it happens again. Also, sometimes it's hard to hear what they're saying. I know that is more natural but perhaps they could improve that somehow. A few comments he made on the show make him sound out of date with social norms but I would not rush out to say he's intolerant or secretly right wing on social issues. I also think they should do better highlighting of the places they visit for their coffee unless that's intentional. There's a quick shot of the exterior as they're walking in and that's all you'll know about the place. To be honest, I think more of the show should be them driving around or even doing things. The coffee shop setting is kind of charming, but I enjoy the parts of the show where they're driving around more. Also, some of these user reviews are ridiculous. 0/10? Really?

For the record, I loved the first 3 seasons. Seasons 4 and 5 are not the same. It's just not funny now and they have way too many plots going on at the same time, spending too little time on each one, and too much narration with the goofy music playing in the background. It just often feels like you're watching a long recap of previous episodes (even though it's usually new material, the way it is cut and narrated makes it seem that way). It's frustrating because they have an excellent cast, they could easily have a great show as they did during the first 3 seasons.
