Im a big fan of DMC franchise and i was sceptic when i started watching this but i really love it .I understand its not canon but its a great story with well written villains i like its not just copy of games but a project with idea and great music.

Yes it does changes story lines compared to the first games but it suits television series much more I would say. Characters and Devil May Cry series is true to its nature. Great soundtrack and animations

Everything is bad about this show. Every damn moment. I can’t believe that author so hate devil may cry to create this kind of show. I think this guy just wanted VIP place in hell where he would watch this trash over and over again

Why did Capcom allow this anime to be made and air on netflix??? How was even it possible to completely ruin the story when making this waste of time show.

A woke garbage, full of woke excrement! But what would you expect? Excrement writes excrement. A DMC series where the main protagonist is a character who is not even a third or fourth character in importance in the games and the OG anime. All in the name of GIRL BOSS CANCEROUS AGENDA. The director and writer of this series is just another little **** slave of the Hollywood excrement factory.

This is not an adaptation of the game series by any means. Dante is not the same person whatsoever that he was in the games. He is 100% different here and exponentially worse in every possible way that he can be. On top of that the series itself breaks. The law of devil may cry in many different respects. Even very basic things like Dante’s guns that don’t need to reload because Dante uses his powers to generate the bullets within them, in real time as he’s firing, so he can continuously fire nonstop, was messed up in this show. It literally shows Dante reloading his guns that are supposed to have to reload. This trend of ignoring or breaking the law continues all throughout the show in many different ways and it is just pathetic and sad. As far as accuracy goes, this is the single worst adaptation I have ever seen. And I didn’t even need to mention the nonstop title wave of extremist, leftist, political shoehorning.

The plot is garbage. The main character is the female named Lady or whatever Arkham. She's evil. Really wish we saw her die. Horrible waste of time.

A pointless animated series and a bad adaptation. The quality is quite average, the story has no surprise and no sense, the OST is only strong enough to give a bit of entertainment. All the fight scenes are ordinary, all the plotline is forgettable. What is the meaning of this in the end ? It's just boring when the Capcom game is way more funny...

Not fun at all. The entire series is just one big “what the hell” from start to finish. This is the kind of show that made me sign up on Metacritic just to review it, saying it’s not worth a second of anyone’s time. Why even make it? Making both humans and demons suffer for what purpose?If they really wanted to do something new, they should’ve just killed off this version of Lady—then have her corpse get desecrated by a rabbit or something—and only then have Dante chop his head off.

Completely unfaithful to the games in every way imaginable. Modern woke propaganda using a well known name to get you to watch it.

Quando insere elementos políticos, como o posicionamento do vice-presidente e o questionamento do papel social de demônios e humanos, a série cresce. Mas na ação, é até cansativa e genérica algumas vezes, embora comece muito bem (lá pelo sexto episódio, fica num looping de ação entre idas e vindas que mais fizeram esticar a obra). O quinto episódio, quase sem diálogos, é lindo.

It was the worst DMC I've ever watched in my life. It would have been better if it was called LADY instead of DMC...

i dont see the problems people have with this show, its a solid show about a demon hunter, much better than some praised animes like naruto, one piece, and demon slayer, it follows a good pacing had decent action

I think this show was very good. Like the Animation, and the story, I know some have prombelms with this show fx Dante not being strong enough, but I think it makes sense for a serie not to have him being that strong in the strat Btw English isn’t My first laughed

O anime é totalmente incoerente em tudo que faz e o Dante o protagonista,e sim a Lady,não vale a pena para quem é fan da franquia, pra quem não conhece vai adorar, não tem nada a ver com a franquia. A nota 1 vai pela animação que é boa.

Despite it’s glaring flaws, Devil May Cry is still a fun show with electrifying action and a kickass soundtrack.

This adaptation is a soulless cash grab that completely misses what made Devil May Cry special. The writing feels like it was tailored for the lowest common denominator — not for fans of the games, but for casual Netflix viewers who have zero connection to the franchise.Dante, once a complex and stylish demon hunter with sharp wit and depth, is reduced to a bland caricature of himself. All the nuance is stripped away. He's no longer the cocky but charming legend we knew — just another generic "edgy" protagonist.Lady (Mary) is equally butchered. The overuse of swearing and edgy dialogue doesn't make her more mature or badass — it just feels forced and out of character. The writers seem more interested in sounding "cool" than in staying true to her real character. The entire cast suffers from the same lazy treatment. Almost no one resembles their in-game counterpart in tone, behavior, or personality. It's clear the writers either didn’t play the games or just didn’t care to understand them.Then there’s the humor and plot — shallow, uninspired, and clearly aimed at an audience unfamiliar with the series. Instead of intelligent pacing or stylish action with weight, we get meme-fodder dialogue and surface-level **** don’t get me started on Vergil’s last line: “I am that storm.” It’s a blatant attempt to pander to meme culture, at the cost of character integrity. This kind of writing is not clever — it's patronizing. All in all, this is not Devil May Cry. It’s a hollow, disrespectful parody wearing the skin of a beloved franchise. Fans deserve better. The legacy of Devil May Cry deserves better.

Devil May Cry is a good anime if you dont think its a adaptation but if you look from the adaptation part it starts getting worse.İf i start saying its problems it will be many but spesifically dante and lady is trash and Adi Shankar thinks dmc is some sort of Daredevil:Born Again type diplomacy but its not.Kick this guy please. 65/100

The show is not as bad as people make it out to be, the villain is well done, there are heart wrenching moments. Its not a bad watch by any means. What i didn't like immediately is Dante's voice, he sounds kinda like a brat... So it might be alot better in a different language. He really needs a manly voice, the current voice actor just doesnt sound cool at all. I guess sag aftra strikes again, not allowing them to get a better voice actor... The action is just one level below S tier shows such as castlevania and invincible., but better than the average anime. This is one of those show that'll make you feel compassionate for the unfortunate. In today's political environment, I can see many people on the right being rub off the wrong way. Personally I think the story is well done. I can have understanding and feel compassionate for the story. I would definitely check out season 2 since I'm very interested with the teaser of the coolest character in the series. If youre a fan, you'd know who I'm talking about. The storm is approaching

Se quiser conhecer essa saga maravilhosa, jogue os games ou assista a compilação de cutscenes na internet, fique longe dessa adaptação, não gaste seu precioso tempo de vida com o lixo contagioso desse rato, presentei a si mesmo com o material original, valerá muito a pena.

На самом деле,если заранее воспринимать это как не канон,то смотрится вполне недурно,хотя некоторые вещи прям глаза режут.Я считаю ,что ставку нужно делать на 2 сезон,где Вергилий начнет чаще проявляться в кадре.

This was garbage, displacing Dante to shoe horn bait and switch a 2d female character is not the win Capcom or the makers think it is. The soundtrack was appalling, limp biscuit... really, sigh. Disappointing mess of a show.

Ok, let's get the positives out of the way: Cool and exciting action scenes with great **** of bosses from DMC games and references to characters from DMC manga/novelsEnzo, whose character miraculously remained faithful to the original **** voice cast did a decent job despite having a **** script and many many cringy and eye-rolling dialogues.A great original score by Evanescence’s Amy LeeNow let's get to the bad (which unfortunately outweighs the good): Dante, the main protagonist of the show and in his own game series, is a side character in his own show.Lady is written horribly. She drops F-bombs every 10 seconds and is a very obnoxious, arrogant and unlikeable character who never undergoes any meaningful change or transformation by the end of the series.Drastic and unnecessary changes to the original lore: Demons are not otherworldly creatures fundamentally different to humans. Instead, they are just another race with a slightly different DNA (Oh and by the way, some look like humans who just happened to have horns on their heads, while others are amorphous monstrous beings! And we're supposed to believe that they belong to the same species!)A heavy and unsubtle injection of modern US politics and the whole message of America-is-bad/imperialistic/evil plus religion is bad into the story which as a non-american and non-us citizen I'm just sick of how it is overplayed in anything that has come out of Hollywood for the past 20 or 30 decades.Demons are not sinister power-hungry predatory beings from another dimension. They're just misunderstood and oppressed beings from another world looking for a home (Note the real-world politics inserting itself into the show again). Also according to the show’s logic, humans and religion (Christianity) are the real evil guys, not demons or the White Rabbit who commit many atrocities in the show!The show has no internal consistent logic. For instance, Dante is the most powerful person than any demon or human in several scenes and in others, he’s easily overpowered by a mere human, where he could have easily got out of the situation. Also, Lady can easily distinguish a demon in human form in one scene, but in another scene, apparently, she is easily duped! And oh yeah, remember how demons can slaughter humans without any difficulty in the human world and overpower them? Turns out they are no match for the might of the US army when they invaded the demon realm!So, yeah, if you are a fan of DMC games like I am, I really can't recommend this anime and the only silver lining to this **** is that it is not canon to the franchise. But if you've never heard of DMC games and are just checking this show out for the sake of watching action/fantasy anime, you might enjoy it somewhat if you turn off your brain and ignore the show’s heavy-handed handling of modern politics and political messaging, obnoxious characters and cartoonish, unimpressive villains and inconsistent logic.

Holly Crap this thing is a complete trash. A grown man called Adi really saw DMC series and said ''yeah I can send political messages using this''. Using demons as refugees trying to seek refuge, always sending not all demons are bad look US kills good demons too messages. Making one of the coolest character in gaming series look like complete idiot come straight out from one of those mid Marvel movies. Now you might say ''it's not supposed to be accurate with the game'' yes, yes it has to be cause this **** is called Devil may Cry. This whole show has nothing do with dante by the way he's only there because the series is called dmc and to get his ass kicked. The summary of the whole series is: Dante gets beaten up, lady saves him; Dante gets kidnapped, lady saves him; here is main villains sad story (stolen from undertale), now here is lady's story. And in the end dante is a weak character and only is beaten up (don't even have a decent screen time by the way but every trailer is about him) Lady is a saviour and America is a bad guy.

A great show and game adaptation, the music picks were amazing and I was a big fan of the animation

It's absolutely on point - what it would look like if it were real. If anyone is bothered by Asmongold (or at least the character inspired by him) being in the show, or the fact that not all demons are bad, feel free. I like the show, and I look forward to Season 2.

One of the worst attempts at political activism propaganda out there. I guess it hasn't crossed their mind that they are making parallels between illegal immigrants and the literal hellspawn demons of hell in this show. The show is vey loosely based on Devil May Cry, mostly only the character names. The main character in the show is a masculine girl-boss, and all white men are either incompetent or the most evil characters in the show (even when compared to the demons). Yet another IP ruined by Netflix.

A lot has been said here already about how this anime is a bad adaptation of DMCs story and it's characters. And it's true. But I wanted to add that even if you look at this as a separate thing, it's own story - it's just awful. Characters only get more stupid as the show goes on. A lot of plot holes. A lot of story parts don't make sense or don't fit together at all. Dante spends what feels like most of the anime either trapped or tied, like some princess. Monsters are done in 3D and look low quality and bad compared to the rest of the anime. Plot armor all around. A lot of fights are just one sided massacre with no stakes or tension, boring to watch. Main villain's plan makes no sense.

Great quick watch anime. It builds quick and pulls you in, provides fun action scenes, and gives surprising depth to characters in a short amount of screen time.

Humilharam o dante a um pé de chinelo, ai colocam o feminismo empoderado e enfiam na Lady pra fazer o dante virar o cachorrinho dela, dante lento, sem força, sem reflexo, só apanha, humilhado. NETFLIX precisa ser reciclada, pelo jeito só tem funcionários woke esquerdista nesse meio né, so turma de doentes que onde colocam a mão conseguem estragar tudo que tem de bom. Don’t get fooled by the “critics’ reviews.” This show has nothing to do with the beloved DMC you know from the game series. It feels like a cheap fanfic interpretation made by a first-year student trying to check all the politically correct boxes. Bland, boring story that pretends to use your favorite characters, but in reality, they only share the looks. Dante is not Dante at all — it’s all just a cheap knockoff.

Devil May Cry 2025 Netflix show A demon goes by the name the White Rabbit . Has stolen the most powerful demon weapon from a museum . This weapon is called a forced edge. Which belongs to the Demon King Sparda . Meanwhile the US Government recovered video tape from the museum. The white rabbit said to whoever was going to watch this . To find the rabbit you need a hunter. Which means to find a demon you need a hunter . Which they go after any hunter . They finally find a lead and more until why the white rabbit stole Sparda sword. His plan is to open a gate away from the human world and the demon . But he needs two half of an amulet to open the getaway . Which one of them belongs to a demon hunter named Dante . Devil May Cry is one of my favorite japanese series . I enjoyed the games 1 ,3 ,4 and mostly 5 . And we don't talk about 2 . This is a series meant to kick ass . Listen to some kickass rock music . no pop , no rap , and no country It's a series about trying not to get hit . Building your comb for the SMOKING SEXY STYLE . Speaking about music. The theme song for this show is . Is Rolling by limp bizkit . Which I didn't expect . And also going here .papa roach last resort Rise against the machine . And a few other bands . Pretty much songs you would hear in the early 2000s . The animation is from the studio who work on Legend of Korra , my adventures with Superman and X man 97 .Which does look pretty good . So I think most people who fought this were going to retell the story from the video game . Telling before DMC 3 But they are doing their own lore .In this show Dante doesn't know he is half demon . Unlike the game he knows he is a half demon . Lady origins are different in the show . In Their game she wants revenge on her dad for killing her mom . And in the show the lady did turn into a demon after injecting himself with demon blood, killing her mom and himself. Now the voice is pretty good. Mostly hearing the goat of Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy as vice president of the United state . I had a smile on my face . There are tons of easter eggs from dmc lore and Capcom IP you would see like Megaman , Resident evil other DMC lore and Street fighter But there were a few things I wasn't a fan of . It is Dante's voice. When you hear Dante's voice . His voice actor is Langdon . And he does an amazing job as Dante And for whatever reason Capcom fired him for what ? I don't know So he is replaced by Johnny Yong Bosch . There is an issue . He is the voice actor of Nero . And when I hear him speak . I'm just listening to Nero This version lady is constantly keep saying **** non stop . Few times . But holy **** it was like every few sentences there is an F bomb . This is a series almost never needed to say **** and the olny time they said **** was . DMC V If I remember they said **** maybe 3 times . And yes I know she has a traumatic past . But this honestly is trying to the edgelord level. .There is one thing this show makes zero sense . That is the Dante Rebellion sword . In the game DMC 3 . Dante's sword the rebellion is awaking. When his Brother Vergil stabs rebellion right through Dante . Which allowed Dante to use the Devil trigger . Okay so this version of the Rebellion is already awakening. But Dante doesn't unlock the devil trigger . Which happens much later . And when does the Devil trigger the song they use? pull my devil trigger. That is a Nero song in DMC V . It is supposed to be Devil Never Cry . Since that song works for Dante. Since Dante is a half demon and Half . He is siding with his human side . Instead of being a vicious demon. Since the Demon doesn't cry .The Fight scene was honest . As a fan of the series, okay . The CGI is the worst part of the show . The show wanted to explore the theme of good demons living in the demon world . And humans view demons as a threat . It's okay . And it's the worst part of the show .But one thing doesn't even make sense. This version made brother Vergil working for Mondus . Which doesn't make any sense . And he cares for demons . Virgil never cared about demons . He never cared about humans . Dante cares about protecting the human side . Since he is half human . All Vergil wanted is power . And it was a shame he was beaten by Mondus . He felt weak when was being used as Nero Angelo . And Lastly this an allegory for the Iraq war where . An American idiot is playing . You know the same was meant to call George W Brush for going to war with Iraq. Dude i'm watching DMC for kick ass action , cool one line , character development and more kick ass . Not a commentary about the American war . With America good and demon is devil. I'm very upset at this show . Since I love DMC . And I want fans to play the game after watching this show . Like how Fallout shows , early Witcher or even Last of us did. Hell Cyberpunk edgerunner saved the series . After the awful release due to covid . I will still see what they do .
