Reeves and Moss are magnificent at resurrecting Neo and Trinity, and they blend exquisitely into Lana Wachowski’s matured style of filmmaking.

Resurrections does eclipse its predecessors for full-on, kick-you-in-the-heart romance: Reeves and Moss, comfortable with silences, lean into an adult intimacy, so rare in blockbusters, that's more thrilling than any roof jump (though those are pretty terrific too). Their motorbiking through an exploding city, one of them clutching the other, could be the most defiantly sexy scene of a young year.

Thank you Lana Wachowski, for having made this fabulous 4th opus of Matrix ! This was a true masterpiece of Art !!! The fans will appreciate to retrieve their link with Neo and Trinity, but also with other new or not so new characters =) Being back to the Matrix, I appreciated to find a very good rythm, scenario, soundtrack and I loved to find some easter eggs such as Papa Song's ad. This moovie had been done with so much love ! And so much action, and philosphy. The right ingredients for a Matrix'opus =)

This movie was awesome; especially surprising for a 4th installment in a series, it is a triumph either way, and no one should be surprised considering who the director is! It was hilarious and tragic; moving and sentimental; the special effects were better than ever. I loved seeing original characters reprise their roles, and new characters find a home in the universe. It moved so fast, but also at the right speed. I'll watch it again soon. I especially recommend watching this new film soon after watching the original trilogy for the best experience. I love it! Thank you to Lana Wachowski's for again bringing us back into the Matrix. Thank you to Lana and Lilly Wachowski and all the talent that brought this world to life, starting so many years ago! The Matrix is a cherished treasure, a gift to all movie watchers. Bravo! <3

It’s been 18 years between ‘Matrix’ sequels, but beneath the action chaos of warring computer codes are Keanu Reeves as Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity, proving that they’re still romantic icons of timeless cool in a movie that’s a stone-cold trip. Wowza!

The thing that carries The Matrix Resurrections through some of those rough patches instead is Wachowski’s obvious affection for the characters, and the actors’ reciprocal love for this world and its endless intellectual curiosities.

Essentially a greatest hits concert and a cover version rolled into one (complete with flashback clips to high points from past installments), the new movie is slick but considerably less ambitious in scope than the two previous sequels.

In Lana Wachowski’s defence, much of Resurrections does play like a sincere conversation with herself. She and her sister invented this extraordinary world, and they have the right to analyse and deconstruct it. But she is a victim of her own early success.

After two lousy sequels, here’s a pitch for Warner Bros.: “The Matrix Retirement.”

Timeless work and a very original sequel of the legend that defined the genre. I have never counted days, hours and seconds to the premiere in my life before. Watched many times again. Its The MATRIX!

Great to Keanu and Carrie. Missed the old crew. Super glad they got out of the old religious trope. New meaning - bring it on. Didn't like the attempt to be "Inception" with the cap twist to Warner Bros. Like in the future, Warner Bros is a thing? Seriously, it is not a productive use of time with the whole expose on their WB's need to push a new feature movie. And, wasted minutes with old movie footage as a plot explainer tool. And, using Sandi's presence as a plot explainer. Geeze... the audience can watch the original flicks super easy on demand to get up to speed. Back to Warner Bros. It seems that these scenes should have been handled in interviews. Not germaine to the holistic story of the Matrix world, the commentary was distracting. It seemed the movie was a 'call-in' for story telling, directing, and editing. The actors deserved better support.

“Unnecessary!” was my first thought after seeing this part... not even close to the level of quality and content of previous parts. The best moments of the new Matrix? The ones where bits of the old Matrix are on screen...

This was bad, but it seems to be aware that it's bad, and might even be bad intentionally. The theme of a company making a product with or without the original creators, simply to make a profit, was very meta, and kind of fun. Jada Pinkett gives a horrendous impression of an old person, it was actually hilarious. In fact, there are several laughably bad aspects of the film that make it fun to cringe-watch.
