Hermosa película. Excelente ritmo y personajes, el único problema es la originalidad del guión

Greetings from Lithuania.
"The Departed" (2006) is one of the best films ever made in my personal opinion. I have seen this film ~10 times as of 2026, and it is as entertaining and involving as it was since I first time saw it 20 years ago. I could spend hours and thousands of words praising everything regarding this masterpiece but I already said it - this is one of the most entertaining crime films ever made. This is what I though of it in 2006:I just couldn't stay away and don't write a comment on this true masterpiece. Yes you hear it right - A MASTERPIECE!Saw it on a big screen, and I was totally blown away.I can't remember the last time I was so blown away by a movie.Magnificent work from all cast!I also think this is one of the best casts ever put **** editing of the film is top notch. The script by William Monahan is complex, and rich in characters.Stunning work from director Martin Scorsese. I love Martin Scorsese and in my own opinion, this is his best **** Departed is without doubt the best picture of the year and never fails to entertain. The Departed really does give you all you want and then some.A must see!

"The Departed" is Martin Scorsese's 5th- or 6th-best film. It is also his 5th- or 6th-best directorial achievement. The movie was so over-the-top that it bordered on being a parody. Jack Nicholson's over-performance was the perfect example of how far the film was from anything realistic. To me, "Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, "Goodfellas," "Casino," The Last Waltz, and "The Wolf of Wall Street" were better films. I also think "The Departed was the 5th or 6th best movie in 2006. I thought "Children of Men," "Casino Royale," "Pan's Labyrinth," "The Lives of Others," "United 93, and The Prestige" were better. But it was Scorsese's year. They weren't going to let him get passed over again. The other films had no chance. Actually, I'm happy he finally won Best Movie and Best Director. An artist as great as he deserves to be recognized, even for something that wasn't his best.

This movie is one of my favourite movies because I like how Scorsese directed this movie and I like the suspenseful scenes in this movie.

Nicholson, Damon, and Dicaprio make for an absolute powerhouse trio in this classic film. I have had this on my watch list for quite some time, and although it wasn't as rock solid as I was expecting, it's ending was right up my alley. Aside from the phenomenal acting and the satisfying conclusion, I was only impressed with the simplicity of which a complex double-rat story was told. I never felt lost trying to keep track of who worked for who and who was spying on who, because the filmmakers laid it out so clearly for me.

The Departed is a wild movie with amazing performances and perfect cinematography. The characters are layered and well-written. I obviously gravitated towards the morally positive characters, but my favourite was actually Dignam, who I'd consider morally ambiguous. The dialogues are perfectly-written. I really don't have anything else to say about the writing, because it's just awesome. The direction is great, but I also wasn't expecting any less. I haven't seen many Scorsese films so far, but this is completely different from the ones I have. The lighting is perfect and the camera movements are amazing and very immersive. All in all, the cinematography is flawless. The editing of Thelma Schoonmaker is more than perfect, the Academy Award definitely went to the right place. Some of the visual effects looked off to me. I couldn't decide whether a few things were matte paintings or just bad CGI, but either way it bugged me a little bit. The song choices were hit or miss. There were ones that I loved, but some others just didn't fit in my opinion. The acting performances are obviously amazing, but Mark Wahlberg is just unexpectedly out of this world in the film. To be honest, this is the first performance of his I really enjoyed, but then I haven't seen Boogie Nights for example. The Departed is amazing, but I had a few issues with it that made me rate it lower than 10/10.

Interesting story and different from the classic films of its kind. The development is well done and maintains a high level of suspense and typical of thrillers from beginning to end, proposing a solid story that captures the attention until the end

an interesting film about two different people in a similar situation and how they solved problems

It's a clever story. Most of the characters are unlikeable, with the exceptions of Jack Nicholson's Costello, and Martin Sheen's Queenan.

An excellent cast and legendary director working at the top of their game combine to create one of the best crime dramas of the last twenty years.

The Direction was amazing. (maybe one of the reasons why he won the Oscar for it) I loved how some of the scenes were shot and set up. Especially regarding the Chinatown, and police interrogation scenes, among many others. The film is perfectly set up with intense, suspense scenes while adding in amounts humor at times. It works really well. The script is top notch. (Also Oscar winning) Realistic strong dialogue from scene to scene.

Well, that was a blast. It looked fine from the beginning, but from the second half onwards I thought it was a rocket and it got really interesting and suspenseful and I was waiting to see how it would turn out. The occasional action wasn't bad with some of that music. The soundtrack somehow didn't particularly impress, but it didn't disappoint either. Not much action here though. It's more of a slower, suspenseful kind of thing and I really enjoyed watching both sides. In the end I was very satisfied. I didn't expect it to turn out the way it did. I thought it was unpredictable. A really delicious story that I thought was suspenseful and interesting towards the end and I liked the overall denouement very much. Amazing crime drama. A clear choice for fans of the genre. Good.

The film is good and worth watching. Only the plot, on the ending, in my opinion and for my taste, becomes a little too complicated on the ending to be followed at its best.

This film is a masterpiece. Already the starting point Infernal Affairs was an excellent film, and Scorsese with The Departed deserves the Oscar for best film which he won.A DiCaprio who, thanks to this film, becomes one of the best actors in the world, for me his best performance ever; very expressive, all the time you are rooting for him, empathetic.Jack Nicholson in boss mode is a highlight.Matt Damon in a very difficult role, always credible.Mark Wahlberg nominated for an Oscar thanks to a masterful performance.Critics loved this film, with an amazing script, great cinematography and an incredible **** me a masterpiece, it doesn't have slow pace, it always keeps you glued to the screen.I don't understand how it can have 85 MUST SEE from critics (well deserved) and a paltry 67 from users... ironman is rated 86 by users.... Truly speechless. ITALIANO
Jack Nicholson in modalità boss è un fiore all'occhiello.
Davvero senza parole.

Martin Scorcese's "The Departed" is one of the best crime dramas to ever exist. A huge cast with an interesting story and two leads who bring their A-game. Huge mention to Mark Wahlberg, who may have stolen the show and the Oscar nomination of how funny and clever he was.

The Departed is one of the Best movies from the best director in the world. Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Sheen, Jack Nicholson and especially Mark Wahlberg are making a fantastic job. To see like a police man is "departed" to the mafia and feel his emotions is absolutely amazing. The script is full of surprising twists and a satisfying end. Thanks for this genius remake Mr. Scorsese

This movie is fantastic because of many small things, including the soundtrack. Nicholson does excellent acting, while Di Caprio and Damon both deliver. I adored Wahlberg's performance.

I really would give this movie a 7.5. I like the story. Although some of it attempts to be a twist, but can be seen a mile away. In short it doesn't live up to the hype it's been given. However it doesn't ****!

Anyoneone's favorite Scorsese film is a toss-up between many great films but for me, it's The Departed. To me, this one is just simply perfect. It's got everything I want in a movie: great script, terrific performances, riveting plot, clear direction, precise editing, and just a full and complete package of a movie experience. I really think this movie is peak Scorsese and everyone else involved but if anyone disagrees and says other Scorsese movies are better, it's hard to disagree since the man turns out masterpiece after masterpiece. This one just hits every note I could hope for and easily a Best Picture-worthy film. Yes, Scorsese should've probably gotten that Oscar long ago but even if he did, The Departed deserves all the praise it received and more! P.S. Check out Infernal Affairs too. That's also excellent!

In such an over saturated genre it's tough to be original and there is little here that's original. However the casting and cinematography are compelling and the pacing is good. This is some great cops and robbers cinema done to a high quality.

Incredible cast, amazing plot and a terrific ending make this movie the best of 2006 and certainly one of the greatest of the 2000's. Scorcese's best movie for me. A well deserved best picture winner.

Have people not seen Scorsese's masterpiece 'Goodfellas'? I struggle to understand how they could have and then rate this formulaic film so highly. Right from the start it's obvious that Scorsese was lazily reworking much of the Goodfellas formula, using Jack Nicholson as the foundation character, somewhat more like Pesci than De Niro though - as he isn't likeable - and even less mentally stable. As the story evolves, Nicholson's character's personality quickly becomes a very poorly researched (unresearched) mixture of bipolar, schizophrenic, and psychotic mental illnesses - poorly, and confusingly portrayed by Nicholson, no thanks to Scorsese's lack of help and direction (because Scorsese clearly only read the tabloid version of these mental illnesses). Another problem with Scorsese lazily dialing in his direction and reworking the Goodfellas formula is that the era the film's set in is a bizarre mix of '70s to modern day, but with little actually changes to the time frame. The pacing and structure of the film is so poor that when the main plot point occurs in the middle of the film you're left confused, thinking, "Is this really the moment the plot was leading up to, or is it just more build-up." But no, the main event really is halfway through the film and very anticlimactic. As, with most directors, Scorsese isn't the brightest of individuals so there's plenty of plot holes or illogical elements for you to force yourself to ignore, too. The second half of the film feels more like it should've been the first half's sequel - resultantly, in effect, seeming like two weak films being glued together. The first half is too short and the second half is too long, leaving you asking yourself, "Didn't the film end an hour ago?" Also, the second half reveals and exploits the extremely 'long game' played by one of the mobsters, which is obviously completely ridiculous - they don't just bribe people instead, still? Outside of Nicholson's poor and unbelievable performance, most other actors do a good job, especially DiCaprio. Mark Wahlberg, however, despite looking a bit out of place, is one of the few likeable characters. The first half of 'The Departed' is like a heist movie, and the second half is a vendetta, which features so many over the top, shock value, killings it's clearly ripping off 'The Godfather' in the style of 'To Live And Die In L.A.' To Live And Die In LA, despite the low production values, is far superior to this mess, plus it has an authentic retro ('80s) setting and soundtrack. Alternatively, just re-watch Goodfellas or the first two Godfather films instead. Overrated, weak reworking of the Goodfellas formula, with terrible structure, and lazy direction. 2/10* *It's probably a 4, but I'm trying to make up for all the "10/10!!!!!1" uncultured reviewers.

As Cape Fear's remake was not as good as the original movie, this one simply is not as good as the original "Infernal Affairs". It's not even comparable. This is just a barely watchable movie.

The Departed is probably my favorite movie of all time, which for me is no small statement because there are a lot of movies that I absolutely love. The writing, directing, acting and cast are all phenomenal and make every second of this movie enjoyable. This is a gangster-crime drama that’s smart, effective and truly a Martin Scorsese movie. From start to finish the film flows incredibly well and is very engaging and entertaining to watch. The story and plot are very interesting and creative and the way that both are executed is also fantastic. The A-list cast of this film feels like it’s out of a dream: Matt Damon, Leo DiCaprio, Vera Farmiga, and so many others. The movie doesn’t squander any of them and Scorsese does a great job of capitalizing on the chemistry these actors have and making great use of them in general. The dialogue is also great; I love that this movie doesn’t hold back on the cursing and vulgar language which makes so many scenes incredibly entertaining in a way that isn’t over the top. It also adds a lot of humor to the movie which is nice because so much of this movie is serious, which is appropriate of it’s genre. The performances from every cast member are superb; they deliver all their lines perfectly and have some cool accents that amplify a lot of scenes, and overall contribute a lot to how good this movie is. What I like the most about The Departed is how it doesn’t hold back on any fronts: language, violence, death and other themes that are core to the gangster-crime drama. It goes full force with all these things to make this movie as realistic as possible and deliver in every way that it needs to, and this works very well towards making the movie successful. I’d say this isn’t a movie for kids and you need to be mature and prepared for a lot of what you’ll see. This is really an adult movie. The end is also great: it makes everything culminate and wrap up perfectly which allows the movie to conclude on a satisfying and appropriate note. The Departed is well-worthy of the Academy award for Best Picture and I’m glad that it won it cause this is a movie that you need to see whether you’re into filmmaking or not. I’ve seen this film twice and I could watch it again and still have a lot of fun with it. The Departed is an outstanding movie and is a must-see for viewers who are into a variety of different genres since The Departed is a mix of genres and incorporates them all beautifully into it’s core premise.

The Departed is a thrilling gangster film, driven by a spectacular script, brilliant direction from Scorsese, and a powerhouse cast. At the center of this movie is a struggle between undercover cop Billy Costigan (DiCaprio) and sergeant Collin Sullivan (Matt Damon). Sullivan, an affiliate of local mobster Frank Costello (Nicholson), is sent to infiltrate the police force. Costigan is sent by the force to infiltrate Costello's mob. When each realizes that they're being pursued by the other, a thrilling game of cat and mouse plays out between the two. The action throughout the filming is enthralling, and the ending is sensational. Despite the strong storyline, the film wouldn't be what it is without the cast. Wahlberg, DiCaprio, and Nicholson are the greatest standouts in such a star-studded cast. While it's not at the level of Goodfellas (few movies are), The Departed is definitely a gem in the crime genre.

Not a movie to watch baby with your Christian mother! Full of excitement and humor, this is one of the best films to ever be made. A script as fleshed out as this one is one in 100,000. If you’re looking for a GOOD movie to watch, this is a perfect candidate.

At least 30 minutes too long, which cost it a point from my point of view. It starts very slowly before building to a slow but intriguing pace. I didn't find myself caring about the fate of any of the characters, which ultimately left me feeling detached from what was going on. However, it was intriguing and I genuinely did want to know what happened in the end. I struggled a bit in the middle because it was so long. Ending did disappoint, however. It made little sense and lacked payoff.

The Departed see's Scorsese at his very best, with exciting camerawork and visuals that both fit the unhinged chaos of the story. Never before have I seen such detail given to the antagonist as well as the hero, the factors of the films great characters makes the constant conflict irresistibly engaging. The story sets the two out in a riveting cat and mouse chase, and the result is an abundantly thrilling feature film.

normally I love everyone involved with this movie, I just found the characters implausible, like a box of leftover characters from better movies, where only 1 prima donna fit at a time. We do get Vera Farmiga in an excellent role
