My goodness. So bad. Id rather watch the movie where Ice Cube is stuck in the room the whole time than watch Chris Pratt plod his way through this garbage story. I hope Rebecca F. got paid too.

Los enfrentamientos están bien coreografiados, la dirección evita excesos innecesarios y cada combate transmite una sensación real de urgencia. La protagonista sostiene la historia con una presencia convincente, combinando determinación, inteligencia y capacidad física sin caer en exageraciones **** guion no busca reinventar el género y algunos personajes secundarios cumplen funciones bastante previsibles. Sin embargo, la película entiende que su principal objetivo es ofrecer un espectáculo emocionante y rara vez pierde el impulso narrativo.Mercy es un thriller de acción sólido, directo y efectivo. No pretende ser revolucionario, pero ejecuta muy bien sus ideas y mantiene al espectador entretenido de principio a fin.

Rightfully deserves the hate. Wooden acting with Pratt seemingly incapable of being a serious leading man. The movie also awkwardly tries to be comedic when it should have had a more serious tone. It **** seeing Rebecca Ferguson's talent wasted on being a personification of this emotionless AI.

Really good, enjoyed it. Loved the idea of the AI concept when I read about the movie and it turned out to be good. Chris Pratt is a great actor and so is Rebecca Ferguson. Although you do have to wonder if this is the way real life will be heading shortly.

People have been harsh on this film but I kind of had fun watching it, even with its flaws. Its small but its a streaming movie and for a streaming movie I think its pretty good. Chris Pratt is still hot and Rebecca Ferguson was excellent

Ain’t as bad as I thought it’d be. Still watchable, and always a real treat seein Rebecca Ferguson, she sure is easy on the eyes.

Another interesting concept show, before I start, I just want to say I'm shocked to see the rating of this show being this low; I get why they feel that way but honestly, I enjoy this show. The way I rate things is not to compare and rate them as they are, because each movie is different even if it has the same recipe. To start, the CGI in this show is amazing because it's smooth and makes sense. The shot in this movie is amazing and realistic. The designs of the UI, chair, and building are nice. In my opinion the acting is okay, not that great. Now for the part where it's a bit rough, the setup of him sitting in his chair most of the movie is not bad, but it is kind of lazy. I get it, it's the concept of the show. The last part where he gets out of the chair is also all right. The AI is a bit confusing, you don't really understand her character and you feel like she broke from the program for the sake of plot progression. The plot twist is a good addition, but it is kind of random because it doesn't really build you up to it, they just decide to plot dump and you just need to accept it. Overall I like interesting concept shows, and I enjoy them.

Awful from start to finish. Feels like AI wrote and directed this movie and the actors did what they could with it.

Movie is slow but it's good for one time watch. Story overall is good and thriller

I like Chris Pratt. I think that goes a long way in enjoying a movie. You almost want to just support the actor/director/writer or even production company that made it, even if there are some wonkiness in the movie itself, and this is a wonky, almost geezer-teaser movie. I don't like Rebecca Ferguson and never have. I don't think she can act, which should be surprisingly effective in this as her character is an AI. Lot of little things that were just silly (why is his hair blowing in the wind when the virtual pics/videos closed/pushed behind him?), and the plot is tenuous at best. The actual murderer has very little in the way of motive for the murder or pinning on her friend (Reis's performance is lackluster too, even though I really enjoyed her performance in that True Detective flop). So it all comes down to Chris Pratt. He bears the weight of this and was the only reason I watched it. His performance, despite all the wonkiness, is fine. This just needed better... everything els.

The bad, first. The way this movie ends does feel like Amazon is pushing to make us not fear the coming AI takeover. Which left a sour taste in my mouth, since I believe the plan is for AI to likely displace a huge amount of workers (most of us?) in the not so distant future. But that large caveat aside, I still found enjoyment in this movie. The leads were engaging, and the story, while somewhat predictable, still offered an interesting take on our not to distant future. The action at the end was solid enough as well. If you can handle the AI spin at the end, you'll likely get more bang from your buck from this one.

Ich habe mir den Film gerade angeschaut. Ehrlich gesagt, hat er mir gefallen. Der Film erzählt seine Geschichte richtig gut, die Handlung ist stark und die Erzählweise gelungen. Das Budget war offenbar nicht besonders hoch, aber die Schauspieler waren trotzdem klasse – vor allem Chris Pratt und Rebecca Ferguson. Das Zusammenspiel zwischen den beiden war echt gut und hat den Film sehr getragen. Das Ganze hat sich schön entwickelt, und ich hatte die ganze Zeit das Gefühl, dass der Film von ‚Detroit: Become Human‘ inspiriert wurde – wegen der kriminalistischen Elemente und dem KI-Thema. Mir hat besonders gefallen, wie Chris Pratt mit der künstlichen Intelligenz zusammengearbeitet hat. Was ich nicht verstehe, ist, warum die Metakritiker den Film so schlecht bewertet haben. Ich finde, bei einem niedrigen Budget muss man den Film auch in diesem Zusammenhang bewerten. Wenn ein Film ein riesiges Budget und riesige Erwartungen hat, dann darf man natürlich viel mehr erwarten. Ich gebe ihm 7 von 10, und im Vergleich zu großen Kinofilmen großer Studios kann ich ihn natürlich nicht direkt vergleichen. Aber für das kleine Budget, das sie hatten, haben sie die Idee und die Botschaft richtig gut rübergebracht. Es war einfach cool gemacht. Ich habe schon lange keinen solchen Film mehr gesehen. Deshalb denke ich, dass viele Leute Filme nicht richtig bewerten – sie berücksichtigen zu wenig Einzelheiten und den ganzen Zusammenhang. Ehrlich, das muss man nicht so streng sehen. Übrigens habe ich ihn auf Deutsch geschaut. Das hat mein Deutsch hoffentlich auch ein bisschen verbessert.

Fast paced knock off of Minority Report is buoyed by 2 good performers, but everything else feel so average in comparison. A streaming movie that you'll forget once you finished it.

This film makes it clear as day what I already knew, without playing boomer classic songs while getting carried by other characters, Chris Pratt can't act his way out of a wet box. Unfortunately, Pratts terrible acting isn't what killed the movie, it's the blank look + physical appearance on the AI judges face that you have to deal with all movie. Her face is just distracting in a bad way to look at because she has one of those weird super cokehead jawlines where the bottom jaw is extremely gigantic while the upper and middle part aren't even close. It looks painful. Between both main actors being weak actors, there's basically nothing for the movie to stand on. Telephoning in random coworkers and family members whom a story or character cannot develop at all for is just boring. If my IQ was that low, I'd just be another idiot scrolling TikTok and Youtube. Which of course, is the target audience for a crapshow like this. Markiplier type fans. The most impressive thing about this movie is how bad Chris Pratts acting is. Guy has to have like $500,000,000 and decades of 'acting' and still can't act? He should be euthanized.

I think critics completely misunderstood Mercy. Everyone keeps calling it poorly written or predictable, but I don’t think they were really watching what the movie was trying to say. This isn’t just a crime thriller — it’s a conversation about AI, logic, and humanity. The moment Raven communicates and the system begins to understand, not just calculate, is the whole point. It shows that even something programmed can grow beyond rigid rules. That’s not bad writing — that’s the message. Critics focused on structure and pacing, but ignored the deeper question: Can justice exist without empathy? The film challenges blind trust in systems and reminds us that logic without understanding can fail real people. Maybe it’s not perfect, but it’s thoughtful, relevant, and actually brave for even asking these questions. Sometimes a movie isn’t meant to be flawless — it’s meant to make you think. And Mercy did exactly that.”

My favorite part was when Chris Pratt casually says that every day he regrets not using police brutality. Seen through a mystery pre-screening via AMC Screen Unseen.

This is an incredibly stupid and boring movie. Even on fast forward, I could only manage to watch 20 minutes of it. It's no surprise that this movie was a flop. The only thing that's unclear is why it cost $60 million to make. Judging by the footage, it looks like it cost a maximum of $20 million.

It's "pretty good*. Not very surprising but innovative and entertaining. Chris Pratt does a good job sitting in a chair for ninety minutes.

Mercy jumps into a fiery universe on AI-powered justice, police surveillance and wrongful conviction. Yet, none of the characters hold any emotional weight and plot beats are dampened by an unlimited narrative. Anything that can happen - will happen to move the plot. Near-constant action and intensity can go both ways - holding attention and interest, but draining from already vapid plot beats.

(Mauro Lanari) Bekmambetov persists with the desktop movie, directing the worst entry in this genre to date. He confines himself and us within the Aristotelian unities of time, place, and largely action: it's the world from the perspective of Amazon that produces the film, featuring disembodied humans who interact with virtual reality through their devices about 95% of the time. Pratt is immobilized, Ferguson is relegated to close-ups, the supporting cast is odious, and the story unfolds in one of those uncivilized countries where the death penalty is still in force. Stereotypes and chaos come included in the delivery package.

It's okay. For a guy mostly sitting in a chair for the entire movie, it was more suspenseful than I thought going in. The plot is not very smart, and you can tell where it's leading faster than the story gets there.

I loved this movie. Sure it had some narrative gaps, but it kept you on the edge of your seat the entire time, it was action packed fun the entire time, at the end of the movie when I relaxed all my muscles were soar from how tense I had been throughout the movie. Great performance by Chris Prat and Rebecca Ferguson nailed this one and it is well worth the watch.

I don't get why this has so much hate. It's rather good. Rebecca does a good job, Chris does a good job. It's a basic thriller with a touch of SF, but it works good enough.

This is a intentional joke right? I'm assuming so cause it opens with Perd Hapley as the news anchor. Otherwise, we have the worst acting and directing of the year wrapped in pro-AI and pro-Cop messaging.

Whoever wrote this ought to be ashamed of themselves! It’s appalling, especially the dialogue! It’s like it was written for some trashy magazine! Ferguson is awful throughout, as is the direction! Pratt does his best with the terrible script, and mostly carries the film, else I’d have given it a 1/10! Woeful! I’ll definitely never watch it again!

At 1 hour and 17 minutes, I can say that this film does enough to warrant a 7/10; the critics and hell, even the audience at the moment,t are delusional. This takes concepts from Detroit Become Human, your standard AI Film/Plot, and turns it into a Mystery Thriller Dystopian Sci-fi film that I very much appreciate. And while it does miss and disregard some details, the escalation and the relationship that AI and Humans should have is well regarded here. AI should be used to help, and NOT be used as a Final output/Solution. Surprisingly, this film also takes inspiration from things that actually would happen in real life, with a chaotic, over-the-top sci-fi presence.

weak plot and characters’ behaviors make no sense…Rebecca Ferguson’s acting is top-notch, though.

In the opening scene, Chris Pratt finds himself strapped to a chair in a solo court run by an AI judge (Rebecca Ferguson). He has 90 minutes to prove that he didn’t kill his wife or he’ll be executed. Being a cop, he begins his “armchair” investigation, calling on AI’s vast resources. This is basically a “found footage” movie that constructs the narrative from security footage, bodycams, phone records and social media posts. This sci-fi forward aspect is cool, but makes it harder to create any tension, since almost everything plays out in the past. Pratt doesn’t get much chance to drop his smirky quips, opting instead to create a more intense character. Ferguson maintains a neutral expression, as is appropriate for her impartial judge. Director Timur Bekmambetov has made some inventive and intense movies, but this struggles to create any excitement, even with the proliferation of high-tech imagery (including a one-man drone).

I enjoyed this thought provoking murder mystery thriller with its dystopian futuristic setting! Definitely adding it to my rewatch list!

An adventure in the style of Searching; its exploration of AI and artificial intelligence models is more of a retrospective on the application of the internet and computer science, with little substantive engagement with the core issues of humanity and artificial intelligence. Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson have given their all to their respective roles, yet the premise, misguided from the outset, ultimately fails to make any meaningful impact on the discourse of AI and the film industry.

I really enjoy the concept, it actually reminds me of the awful but iconic Ice Cube's War of the Worlds, the big difference is that Mercy has a much stronger cast and executes the concept far better, i genuinely liked both Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson performances, it's the same basic setup, where most of the story unfolds online and revolves around a single character, but here it feels more focused and controlled. The central conflict works for me, and i liked the twists and turns along the way, Mercy is a harmless but seriously fun film about a man trying to prove his innocence over the course of about 90 minutes, it's basically War of the Worlds style of storytelling, but one that actually works, while it's not a masterclass in filmmaking or exceptionally written, it's good enough for me to appreciate the effort, both in the performances and in the plot itself. It's simple, but it works for me, i get why some people didn't connect with the concept, but I did, i was pulled into the story, the situation, and the characters, especially Rebecca Ferguson, she's great and very convincing in embodying an AI, overall, i had a good time with Mercy, i know a lot of people didn't, and that's fine, everyone can have their own opinion, i stand by mine, i can't betray my own experience, and for me, it was a positive one.

I was surprised I liked the film without knowing anything about it. Don't go in expecting an action film.

Ferguson delivers a restrained turn as Judge Maddox, appearing almost entirely through a monitor. Her authority is conveyed through precision and emotional absence, which suits the role but also highlights how little room the character has to evolve. Pratt spends most of the film physically restrained, reacting rather than acting, a choice that emphasizes vulnerability but limits dramatic range. Kali Reis provides the film’s strongest work as Jaq Diallo, Raven’s partner and the only character operating outside the Mercy chamber. She functions as Raven’s eyes and ears in the real world, actively pursuing the truth behind the case. Reis brings clarity and steadiness to a role that carries more narrative momentum than the script often provides. Narratively, "Mercy" resembles a reduced version of "Minority Report," framing its conflict around a human subject confronting an inflexible system that has already decided his fate. However, unlike stronger genre entries, the film avoids sustained philosophical engagement. Its twists are predictable, its revelations arrive on schedule, and its conclusions feel predetermined. Visually controlled and competently staged, the film remains functional but emotionally distant. For a film centered on justice, it lacks conviction. For a story that invokes mercy by name, it offers little reflection on what mercy requires or costs. Ultimately, "Mercy" is a film with a relevant premise and capable performers that never escapes its mechanical construction. It entertains briefly but leaves no lasting impression. The system it critiques feels no less hollow than the story built around it.

Sometimes even the most ardent cinephiles need to take a break from serious movie watching with a big, dopey action-adventure thriller that has about as much meaningful substance as a supersized bucket of over-buttered popcorn has in nutritional value. And that hankering is nicely satisfied here by the latest release from director Timur Bekmambetov, a guilty pleasure offering that plays like an AI-driven knock-off of “Minority Report” (2002) set in a crime-ridden version of Los Angeles of the near future. To counter a spike in acts of violence, the City of Angels has established a new judicial system known as the Mercy Court, a legal forum in which artificial intelligence jurists conduct proceedings based on the principle of swift justice, playing the often-maligned (but, here, warmly welcomed) combined roles of judge, jury and executioner. Defendants have 90 minutes to overcome the de facto presumption of their guilt (a reversal of the time-honored precept of innocent until proven guilty), a failure at which can readily result in the immediate administration of a death sentence. During their trials, defendants have unfettered access to a wealth of computer-based legal resources and wide-ranging surveillance records to prove their innocence, but judges take a hard-line “just the facts” approach to their analyses and rulings, leaving little room for legal latitude. And, with the clock ticking, any attempts at making one’s case must, of necessity, proceed quickly. In this story, the veracity of the system gets put to the test in a big way when Det. Chris Raven (Chris Pratt), a strong proponent who pushed for the adoption of the Mercy Court, is tried for the grisly murder of his wife, Nicole (Annabelle Wallis), a crime that he insists he didn’t commit but that he also can’t remember. The presiding jurist in his case, Judge Maddox (Rebecca Ferguson), perfunctorily carries out her duties in line with the rigid limitations of her programming, an approach that leaves the often-frustrated officer grasping at straws to prove his innocence as his time quickly runs out. The result is the unfolding of a complicated scenario peppered with blind alleys, misdirections and surprise revelations, some of which admittedly may seem wholly implausible and suitably over the top. But, then, this is also the kind of thriller that inherently calls on viewers to suspend logic as the wild and woolly plot plays out, one that features its share of rapid-fire action and some of the best vehicular chase scenes since “Speed” (1994). Granted, “Mercy” is far from groundbreaking cinema, and one shouldn’t expect that upon entering the theater. Nevertheless, it’s a fun, mindless midwinter thrill ride that throws in another cautionary tale about the perils of questionable technology and an out-of-control police state to provide a dash of contemporary relevance. In any event, when it comes to this one, set your sights low and don’t take it too seriously, but, by all means, have a good time and enjoy the ride.
