Disclosure Day3
Jun 13, 2026
Disclosure Day plays out more like an action chase movie with unexplained alien technology thrown into the mix, than it does about the result of alien contact. The movie takes an odd angle about about alien contact and faith, through a minor character that's nearly forgotten half way through the runtime. A security personnel goes rogue (why?) and nearly kills the leads, but no one seems to care? The film can't seem to decide if the protagonists should be caught or not after repeated "we found them" moments, and then they get away because...they need more chasing? The alien tool sure is convenient when it's needed to be. Way too many cheap tropes and too little actual plot. Overall, Disclosure Day feels like a cheap grab at recent UAP related events but with far too little depth to tell a coherent story.

The Fall Guy5
Apr 11, 2026
Felt a bit too jokey to hold any interesting plot together. Largely very predictable. Action scenes are overall pretty good and definitely the highlight of the film, but the in-betweens are mostly lacking.

Mercy4
Feb 22, 2026
Mercy jumps into a fiery universe on AI-powered justice, police surveillance and wrongful conviction. Yet, none of the characters hold any emotional weight and plot beats are dampened by an unlimited narrative. Anything that can happen - will happen to move the plot. Near-constant action and intensity can go both ways - holding attention and interest, but draining from already vapid plot beats.

Roofman8
Oct 13, 2025
Real life seems to make for the best of stories. While Roofman takes a few odd detours from reality's script, the plot remains largely true and captivating, building an eventful story with limited exposition. Creative liberties could have caused the ending to fall, but Roofman sticks the landing.

Hamilton3
Sep 10, 2025
There may be a high quality production here, but none of it landed in movie format. The king was good, anticipating the rhymes was entertaining for the first hour (out of THREE!?), and watching how the actors would conversate to a hip hop beat was distracting. Not my cup of tea.

Freakier Friday4

It's background noise, plain and simple. One of those movies to turn on as you do the dishes and run the laundry.

When in Rome4
Aug 10, 2025
Dumb magic plot, but guess someone had to do it, plot can't decide if it's serious or silly at times, good cameos.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days5
Aug 9, 2025
"10 days" sets up the his and her's plots fairly quickly, while the remainder of the runtime is mostly about how annoying she can be. 10 days can be amusing, but is also very formulaic, and ultimately forgettable.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps7
Aug 3, 2025
Simple, effective and at times, endearing, Fantastic Four is a win. The atompunk aesthetic and visual design make a good fit for the techno-optimist vibe. Could we have benefited from more Silver Surfer and Galactus development? Probably, but in the end, none of it really matters.

27 Dresses6
May 6, 2024
27 Dresses is a cute and frothy rom-com, but like many in this genre, it's a bit lacking in originality. Katherine Heigl and James Marsden bring out the film's best moments with their characters' clashing personalities and eventual resolution.

Spider-Man 26
Apr 23, 2024
The romance story is too long and drawn out with little development, but the action scenes and Spiderman's reveal were good. Could have been shorter. Saw this recently, so I have a feeling this may have been better 20 years ago before superhero burnout set in.

Public Enemies5
Feb 5, 2024
A retelling of John Dillinger's criminal life as America's top public enemy with the feds on his tail. But, something is missing - was it an hour too long? Too many side characters? Pacing? I'm not really sure, just read Dillinger's wiki page instead.

Mortal Engines6
Jan 28, 2024
Top-tier visual effects and set design. A large amount of resources and creative design went into creating 'London', but sadly this effort doesn't extend too far into the plot and characters.

Interstellar10
Jan 21, 2024
So many layers to peel back, it's hard to begin anywhere. The temporal loop timeline? Special relativity as a plot device? VFX that spawned multiple research papers on black hole modeling? Juxtaposition of the strengths and weaknesses of mann? STAY! Don't let me leave Murph! An endeavor through space and time emphasized with a soundtrack by Hans Zimmer, sobering cinematography, told through timeless themes of love, empathy and sacrifice, yields an epic sci-fi film that reveals more and more with each viewing.

The Emperor's New Groove5
Jan 2, 2024
Great animation brings the Emperor's world to life. At least 2/3 of the movie is following Kuzco and Pacha through the jungle as they get caught in absurd and dangerous situations, before making comical escapes. One-liners abound. Generally uninteresting characters.

The Holdovers7
Jan 2, 2024
Where did all the holdovers go? Oh yeah, skiing i guess - minus one kid. Well, the one who remained developed a comforting relationship with his professor/supervisor who apparently have more in common than they first realize. Great acting and character development, but seems lacking in conclusion.

Jingle All the Way7
Dec 1, 2023
It's ridiculous, absurd, funny and stupid all at once. The over-the-top situations keep coming and keep you entertained, even through the goofy rocket-man ending. "Ironman did it better!", said one man in the theater. Yes, yes he did.

Home Alone9
Dec 1, 2023
An all-time Christmas favorite chock-full of lovable characters with meaningful story arcs. Even the furnace manages to be a character with more purpose than the entire cast of lesser movies. Small details are laid throughout, adding additional layers to the story and characters. And oh yeah, there's the whole awesome Battle Plan execution.

The Santa Clause6
Nov 27, 2023
What if an average person could become Santa? Better yet, what if Tim Allen from Home Improvement became Santa? Enjoy Allen's humor, the cute father/son relationship, and clever takes on Santa Claus magic with early 90s CGI, but don't expect much depth from the film's more serious themes.

You've Got Mail7
Oct 23, 2023
Plot builds well to the first meet. Interesting twist where he knows/she doesn't, but drags on too long. Bookstore rivalry could have had more closure. Ending felt like "...aaaand???" Bonus point for late 90s internet nostalgia

A Haunting in Venice5
Oct 23, 2023
Felt like I watched a game of Mafia where everyone took their roles way too seriously. Haunting lore wasn't explored too much even though it's core to the plot. Interesting to see the pieces fit together in the end, but felt a bit too contrived.

Hitch8
Oct 23, 2023
Hitch takes a sincere premise of finding true love delivered with endearing, real characters and adds just enough comedic flair. Well crafted dialogue is found throughout with great performances by Will Smith, but Kevin James really steals the show.
