This movie deserves a kick. What's a kick??? a kick in the face, a kick in the teeth, a kick in the balls. This movie is garbage and it stinks. This movie isn’t funny, and scary my ass.

To begin with, it is hard to believe that the film is based on real events. The truth is that this is compensated for quite well by the black humour that makes you laugh, and not in a forced way. For unpretentious, relaxed viewing.

You know you're in for something bizarre when they tell you a movie is based on a true story about a bear who got into a stash of cocaine. What you don’t expect is that such a ridiculous premise would actually result in a pretty entertaining horror comedy. Cocaine Bear doesn’t try to be serious or coherent—it’s a bloody rollercoaster filled with wild scenes, wacky characters, and a kind of humor that, if it clicks with you, will definitely get a few **** film moves between brutal horror and completely over-the-top comedy, and while it doesn’t always hit the mark, it keeps things interesting with its pace and the sheer absurdity of what’s happening. There’s gore everywhere, some truly insane moments, all wrapped in a self-aware tone that works in its favor. That said, when it tries to get a bit more serious with some family dynamics… it starts to lose steam. What really works is that it never takes itself too seriously. The filmmakers clearly know what kind of movie they’re making, and that honesty makes a big difference. It’s not a masterpiece, and the script won’t blow anyone away, but if you watch it with the right mindset, it’s a bloody good time.

To get it out of the way, I thought Cocaine Bear was shockingly bad. But, for some positives, I thought the bear looked okay. I was expecting it to look a lot worse, anyway! It could’ve looked better, but it was definitely passable. There were also a small handful of moments that are initially shocking which in turn offered small moments of rest bite and were quite enjoyable at the time. If only for a split second. Unfortunately, that is where my positives end. I was banking on Cocaine Bear being funny, and for the silly moments to elevate this past being crap, but it didn’t even deliver on this! The humour just didn’t work for me so therefore the whole film failed as it had nothing else going for it. To be fair, Cocaine Bear had a promising premise, but it was executed poorly and ended up being boring and uninteresting. Despite the short 95 minute runtime, the film feels very drawn out and unbearable at times. There is one sequence involving an ambulance which was amusing, but aside from this the film was a complete borefest. I feel as though Elizabeth Banks was torn between wanting this to be a slapstick comedy or an intense thriller/horror and, as a result, has ended up with a muddled and baffling tone that doesn’t work nearly as well as it could have done. There is also a very underbaked, so bear it’s almost missing, anti-drugs message. But you have to squint really hard to find it! I honestly don’t know why Cocaine Bear was made, it’s terrible and not worth watching! I didn’t take the film seriously and I still didn’t have a good time.

This had no business being even watchable with this title. Its an absolute delight, good production values and funny instead of the usual cringe.

The first red flag is that they called it "cocaine bear." Hardy har. We see what you did there. Clearly made by people who dont get their own jokes.

Cocaine Bear is acinematic masterpiece of film. The film does a great job of not being too serious which works to its benefit. 10/10

Really, really bad movie. I at least thought it would be funny. It wasn't even funny at all. One of the worst movies I've ever seen by far.

Cocaine Bear is a b-movie about a bear hyped up on...Well...Cocaine. So it goes mad crazy and starts killing the **** outta people. And it's a fun watch- with friends especially! But it ain't really worth much pretending its anything else. Its a fairly stupid movie- and a pretty **** gory one. It doesn't take itself too seriously and regularly plays most of the violence up for jokes, though admittedly I didn't find it an especially funny movie. All things considered, it's okay. But **** still a dumb, gimmick horror movie, one which doesn't take itself very seriously and has its own share of flaws. You get what you get. But in this case, could be worse.

I'm kinda getting the sense from this movie that bears shouldn't be snorting coke

Cocaine Bear, despite the excitement it created with its name and trailer, unfortunately, fails to deliver. There is no excitement in the film other than the bear. To make matters worse, the bear itself is not exciting enough. What's even worse is that Elizabeth Banks showed weaker directing than I expected. The sluggishness of the characters, the dullness of the subplot, and the fact that the bear didn't take enough cocaine, unfortunately, prevented me from enjoying the film that I was eagerly waiting for. I believed I would leave the theater with great pleasure, but I have to say that I left with disappointment.

Cocaine Bear was…entertaining? LOL. Not bad I suppose. I managed to laugh out loud in a couple spots. I’ve always liked Margo Martindale and she played a good part here. Kinda sad watching this knowing that this film was released posthumously after Ray Liota’s untimely death. Overall, I found this picture to be more of a rompy farce than anything!

Who thought this movie was a good idea? I've seen some horrible movies. This one is up there with Midnight Meat Train.

Highly entertaining movie for people who like the comedy-horror genre. Laughed all the way through the movie.

This movie was not funny. Too many characters, and none of them were situationally or inherently funny. It felt disjointed, like it didn't have a central idea to it. The one mildly funny thing was the cop how was disappointed with his fancy dog.

Predictable but competent, "Cocaine Bear" might not be a cult classic, but a great watch for thriller enthusiasts.

Come on, man. You are Cocaine Bear. You can go a little crazier than this, Elizabeth. And you can get funnier. I had fun here and there though. I don't know. Felt like a big waste of potential.

Idk what I was expecting. It started off pretty funny then got more average as the film went on. Too slow, not enough of what everyone here came to see, a cocaine bear! It ended nicely though, but too little too late. 5/10. Gonna give it 6/10 because well it's a cocaine bear, ya don't see that every day! Lel

Cocaine Bears suffers from the condition of being a far out there premise, one that would be assumably good for some great gags and shock humor, but ultimately fails as a mediocre, mainstream studio comedy with very little "bite". Pardon the pun. The performances, characters and humor accompanying it all, suggests that it had been written by a group of writers who mostly wrote for CBS sitcoms. The humor is all very whimsical, not the kind you'd expect from an R-rated comedy about a bear who eats cocaine.

I went into this knowing it would be a dumb movie and even with those low standards, I still was surprised at how god-awful it was. Any scene without the Bear is a near-insufferable experience with terrible acting and equally bad dialogue. The scenes with the Bear border-line are so bad it's good territory but the cheap-looking CG takes away from it. All in all, It's a dumb movie that knows full well it is a dumb movie and it tries desperately to be funny when it isn't.

The movie is like a Blumhouse film where it is as goofy as it is violent. For those expecting a comedy and have been disappointed it isn’t. The movie is definitely a dark comedy.
Cocaine Bear criminally wastes Matthew Rhys (The Americans) who just plays the guy who throws cocaine out of the plane in a very small role. He probably just shouldn’t be in this lol.
Elizabeth Banks at least has made a better movie than the Charlie’s Angels reboot. That she wanted “dumb men” to rush to see and then was mad dumb men didn’t go see it.
There’s a charm to the movie that I didn’t expect. Though yes it’s definitely nothing Oscar worthy.

I was expecting a comedy. Other than the two kids at the beginning of the film, I found nothing about the film that I enjoyed. a definite pass on this one

Yeah I walked out during the last twenty minutes. Just seemed like an out-of-touch by the numbers comedy and then they throw in an old star like hey remember me from “Goodfellas? I’m wearing a wig, isn’t that silly?” IDK, not my cup of tea.

Some moments are laugh out loud funny and there were successful frights along the way but ultimately the script was a mess and it all sort of fell apart in the third act.

+cool film name
+Decent cast
+Good production quality
-Poor pacing/editing/direction
-Bad screenplay This feels like another 'snakes on a plane'. Sadly it's neither spoofy/parody laden enough to be a comedy or take itself seriously enough to be dramatic or provide tension so it sort of sits in the middle dragging it's heels to the end. The pacing is awful with the relatively tight runtime feeling much longer (at 1hr 30 mins it felt more like 3-4 hrs!!). While this certainly isn't cinema at its best, icould see this being a fun distraction if you're just hanging with friends eating pizza and drinking beers.

2023's Cocaine Bear is the best example of film critics failing to understand deep and complex art. Modern day critics just like to tear movies down because they're too pathetic to make anything great for themselves. They call Cocaine Bear "lazy" yet all they do is write **** movie reviews. They say it's not "groundbreaking" but what are they doing all day? WRITING **** MOVIE REVIEWS! IS THAT GROUNDBREAKING? NO! None of the people who tear this movie down could make a movie even half as good.

I can't bear-lieve that this movie was greenlit by a studio and actually got made! It's a bearable dark comedy that bearly has any depth to it. It has fun kills and some jokes that can make you chuckle. It does the bear amount to be an entertaining movie.

I liked it. Yes it is not the greatest movie ever, but I still enjoyed the action and jokes in it and it was exactly what I expected from it. Only minus that the story could've been a bit more interesting towards end.

A day after watching this movie, I'm still wondering what I saw. Based on a true story? My guess is that the producers took that a bit too broadly. Luckily my expectations were not so high, going from the title. Nevertheless, I was still disappointed. Like, how is that even possible?
The acting was awful. At times I thought I was watching a play on a stage or something. Every content in between the drugged bear sequence was just plain boring. Luckily, we got those rare funny moments, otherwise, I wouldn't even have finished this movie.

A bad drama or a bad horror movie can at least be funny. But a bad comedy? There is absolutely no reason to sit through that.

Saying that the best performance award of the movie goes to the CGI bear is an understatement. Neither funny nor interesting except for two action scenes. Very surprising OST that brings even more confusion to the 'genre' of the movie. Disappointing because the material could have been used for either a very funny comedy or a bit darker thriller/survival.

In the 5 minutes of Bank's Charlie's Angels I watched, 3 guys were kicked in the nuts. It's obvious she just has Jackass humor. I just love the based on a true story thing. I saw Dr Strange playing on trutv before because there probably was once a doctor who was kind of strange.

This movie was never meant to be master-class cinema, its purpose was to entertain. I think it did its job perfectly, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the movie and I would watch it again. It is the perfect movie to see with friends.

For what it’s about, they made it impressively boring. The Americans cast wasted. Very average film. Can’t say it was worth my time.

This is what happens when you want your movie so badly to become a meme. Sure, it has some funny moments here and there, but the story is awful. Were a ton of useless characters necessary? Also, the bear is barely in the movie. The gore is appreciated, but it can hide the fact that the film is dull. 'M3GAN' is not an excellent film, but it at least managed to transcend its meme purpose.
