Theres no way this could be the same film that others have seen. Im totally befuddled. Some of the worst dialogue, worst acting, worst directed, boring films of my lifetime. I am a baseball fan for sure but I hope non fans watch this as their entry into the sport. Also the audio. At times it simply goes silent. Every scene is repetitive. There is almost nothing of interest. The one fella has a picture of Plato above his bed. There is no way the final product is what they were going for. Whoever made this clearly has no grasp on what baseball is, was, or ever has been. Many scenes feel like theyre from different films or tv shows. Its absolute garbage and ive seen 5th grade book reports that do a far better job. It feels like its done as a series of sketches. It cuts insanely between stock footage and insanely shoddy scenes, and its baffling thats what they went with. I **** you not folks if they took out scenes that repeat the thing would have a run time of around 40 minutes. And they keep saying Giambi about 100 times for no damn reason. I truly believe they told the cast to give no emotion and to say on the nose lines over and over. Im so very confused not only how a single person would enjoy it, but how it got made in the first place.

So I found a little scene after the credits! The uninteresting child murdering hawk mom lady actually went backstage and went down on the young fella playing her son. The crowd did a standing ovation and the dad i think is supposed to be bill Shakespeare just sits in his room weeping like some petulant milksopper then hangs himself. Then bipolar witch child murderer lady redoes the entire play and its very good. Abandons her children at-home but who cares. Being a mother at home raising kids well may be a burden to hollywood types. Sorry folks this trash is a maudeline, pompous, grief laden pseudopornographic waste of time, save for get oscar. The score is very much the same. I wouldn't give JB an oscar for her performance of some dull superstitious child murderer, id give it to her for somehow giving a **** and getting through it. Shes a slovenly shambles, an antisocial dullard forcing herself on society, being terrible but demanding respect despite her vile personality. Some kind of weird connection with nature. Just give her a bubbling cauldron and the pointy hat and bam, spirit Halloween witch. Im pretty shocked frankly and just ask myself why would they do this again. Running out of men to demolish i suppose. Sassy get outta my way type they push nowadays. Its actually just rudeness and bitter resentful behavior, not admirable. Oh also ripped off the witch from way back. Like does to the house and stuff where that son died. Only with that one it actually had weight. With this one I see the children die and actually feel nothing. Incredible.

Lovely performances as you'd expect from our leads. The wife is an older woman who was impacted by a violent act during the time of troubles over In the UK, experiencing a panicked crisis over her regrets and a vow she made to her God the day she was hurt by those evil psychos all those years ago. Shes clearly unhappy with her lot in life, and hates herself in a tragically sad way. Shes married to a man who is somewhat slovenly, take life as it comes sort of childish manner, never progressing in life to his wife's standards. On a trip to amsterdam shes devastated to find out religion has been more or less scrubbed away from life, essentially trapping her again, unable to divorce herself from her self hatred and guilt. The trip is essentially a strategic attack meant to resemble a fun trip out of the blue. She tragically has become quite unable to feel humor, taking things very seriously, all her regret building up over the years. When she sees her husband's contentment or anything to do not involving her, when he is joyous when not in her company she flips silently. Also just tired of her husband's behaviors as well. Very relevant and grounded study on men and women, how they may experience the passage of time differently, and the moment when a woman realizes her spouses respect for her dwindling, now perhaps more tolerating her than rejoicing her and following her lead and the work she feels shes done for the marriage. The man is trapped in a sense as well, resorting to substance abuse and aloofness perhaps rather than outright communication, afraid of the hurt it would cause. Even though the woman too is fed ****'t marriage grand folks

What can I say about the film that others already have? It's darkly tragic, it's grotesque, it's gorgeously filmed and cut together. A strange combination of surreal yet somehow familiar. A twisted fairytale that drags the audience kicking, screaming, and digging it's fingernails into the splintered floorboards of its derelict house of horrors. But also laughing in spots that beautifully break up the hellishnes. Yet withholding until I was tempted to switch the thing off to process what I'd just seen.

Yet again we get a tonal whiplash and demonization of a male historical figure, starting out with mild eccentricities that progress to outright cruelty and neglect. A worthless self destructive psycho deviating totally from the character we just met and heaped praise upon. In a christmas film. About the guy that supposedly created christmas by birthing a beloved work of art. And they chose an actor that reads as cold and maybe dangerous.

Once again i cant tell if the director identifies and pities his monster or if he wants to bang them and be banged by them. Its unsettling and maudelin. Its like he got out all his toys, removed their clothing, and placed them in weird sexual positions after pulling off the heads and limbs.

After watching this i was stricken by the poor quality. So much so that i took to the web to figure out how i could have missed the film. I wanted to read all the hilarious reviews disembowling the thing. I wanted to watch youtube to see what assuredly would be a ton of hilarious but honest breakdowns. I quickly found out that wasnt to be. The first thing i watched stated unironically that its "the best denzel washington film" which is frankly shocking considering he has very few lines, usually just silence. I then viewed a gentleman's video where he says "its a 90s hidden gem" and he was super excited to open up a new bluraycopy. They released it on blu ray. Even though even for its time many visuals are impressively bad. I then saw something where the guy said "russel Crowe did a great job, melding effectively a host of serial killer ghost i guess? Souls? But i thought wow, i didnt find a single shot where crowe wasnt bugeyed and mugging, or pulling camp that makes ones head spin. Although im pretty sure both he and denzel never existed in the same space during filming. So, hard to blame him i suppose. Maybe its an artistic choice. Pretty sure its because of extensive redo filming or an actor falling through during the shoot. And the guy that plays russels weasely helper guy's voice is one grating ordeal after another. Its also very concerning when they cant seem to pin down what time period its set in. Maybe they had budget but then it got reduced? Theres also protracted scenes that go nowhere. Its funny too how many innocents denzel murders. It reminded me of team america but in a bad way.

Despite the mostly dreadful dialogue and shameless pandering, the film did drive a little fun somehow. Ive never been that keen on the franchise. Like i get it and respect it for how its connected so many, but i never got the adoration. Perhaps if i really held dear the ghostbusters i would be more upset. Plus i do like mostof the busters in general despite them wavering in recent times. Legitimately funny ladies. People actually, not just as women. Although at every turn they make sure we know their genders and the genders of everyone else, particularly the men. I assume the film may have been geared towards young girls perhaps. There is a worthwhile message in there, but a lot of blaming someone else. Like a lot of these things theres a lot of judgemental interactions. Im not saying having a good message is bad, but its undercut when you do it, and ultimately i think they contradict the very thing they set out to amplify. It would be the same if the characters were men. Behaving that way is distasteful to me. Regardless which gender is doing it. It also spoils a lot of the fun i think. I really dont think that hypercompetent, empowered people behave that way. Or at least dont vocalize these things. Im simply worried they corrupt the very ideals put forth with such insistence. And with such a heavy handed and artless sortof way. I think people are more receptive when theres a subtelty, or when the story is better crafted to earn our attention. Anyway, this is way too long of a comment for a film that came out quite a while back.

Theres a pregnant bull shark out there who doesnt take too kindly to their shenanigans. Main takeaways here is Racism bad, sexism bad. As we know all male whites hate women and people of color. I for one am glad that they abandoned the shark angle to let us know how bad racism and sexism is. Then throw in a rediculous happy ending and a shark that gets locked in a truck with a stick and you come out just thrilled and entertained by this movie.
