Babe is just looking suprisingly cute and funny. It’s just what it thinks about itself

I'm not sure what possessed me to watch "Babe" alongside my sons 30 years ago, but I'm glad I did. I even had to hide my face from my youngest son, who thought he had detected a tear or two at the end. LOL

The stagnant machinery of a blurred family evening: A 2.0-star vivid but fading drift through nostalgia.2000(2.0)I watched this unknown film with my family in 2000, and it remains a pathetic 2.0-star record in my archive—a vivid display of how a mediocre movie can still host a raw and warm memory. While the narrative rhythm has become stagnant and the plot details have dissolved into a pathetic void over time, the experience itself provided an emotional payoff of comfort rather than cinematic revelation. This encounter **** the fourth wall of my critical judgment; even though the movie felt 100% mechanical and stagnant, the setting of gathering around a rented videotape was a sensational act of domestic bonding. The 95% preservation of my memory is dominated not by the raw story, but by the vivid atmosphere of that room and the silent frustration of a plot that failed to leave a permanent, sensational scar. Unlike the chewy intellectual depth of my 5.0-star pillars, this record stands as a stagnant monument to the year 2000—a 2.0-star artifact of rhythmic insignificance that survives only through the raw warmth of the people I shared it with. It remains a vivid but pathetic ghost in my psychological archive, waiting for a name to anchor its stagnant legacy.

Babe is an incredibly adorable story of a little pig. Although the movie is not long, it is flat at times. Most of the animals depict a type of person or a certain type of behavior. Babe as the main character is very cute. He represents children and naive people, while other characters represent stubbornness, wisdom. Fly represents a caring person, while the cat represents an avenger. I loved this part of the writing, but the pacing wasn't good. After an hour the story became flat. The ending was very satisfying though. The directing was good, the cinematography was gorgeous. Outside of pacing the editing was good, but the best part of the movie is definitely the visual effects. Absolutely perfect and beautiful, I had no doubt the animals were real, and this movie came out in 1995! Babe is a cute movie, but it has its problems. The visuals are outstanding.

Babe is a movie that surprised me as I was never interested in seeing it. The beginning of the movie is the weakest part, it takes an episodic approach. This part of the movie doesn't seem to have much structure outside of the beginning and it actually is semi boring. The pig and other characters on the farm just do random tasks until the actual main story takes place about 30 minutes after the start of the movie. The movie still has an episodic format but all of the stories relate to the main plot after this. All and all the main plot is very well written and has a good message about finding your worth. The only negatives about the movie are the random stories after the beginning and these annoying singing mice that show up in between chapters/episodes. This movie was better than I expected and I recommend it.

Babe is such a charming and enchanting film, that even the fussiest adult can't help finding it easy to like. Babe himself, voiced by Christine Cavanaugh(Darkwing Duck and Dexter's Laboratory) is an adorable character, and one scene in particular when his mother is taken away is a genuine tearjerker. The other animals are also just as engaging, including Ferdinand, and are well voiced by the likes of Miriam Margoyles and Hugo Weaving. The human characters were very warm and likable, and James Cromwell and Magda Szubanski were both wonderful. The film looks lovely, there is a nice story and the music is just superb, with Saint Saens' Organ Symphony and Delibes' Pizzicato. And I loved the singing mice, they were really sweet and funny. All in all, a true classic. 10/10 Bethnay Cox

A unique and eccentric charmer, 'Babe' never lets its talking animal premise be a hindrance thanks to a heart warming plot with a positive payoff and some very good effects and animal training work by the Jim Henson Company. It's a clever little film the whole family will genuinely enjoy.

This film is garbage due to the influence it has on vegetarianism and the fact that it has a scene those pigs from Australia put into it that references domestic violence which would be too much even for a children’s film. As result of this, Babe has been officially placed on ban for life from my digitally purchased streaming library.

Based on a children's book, it is one of the best family cinema proposals of the 90s. The story is charming and the animals look like they are real. What I regret is, skeptical, not seeing it on the big screen at the time.

An adorable and well-made film, from the animals to the performances by the actors to the song "If I Had Words" at the end of the movie by the mice. Babe is a timeless classic

Adorable story about a pig who plays the role of a dog. A bit unfinished, predictable (although there were scenes that really were unexpected and inappropriate). So overall a decent movie that you may like or dislike.

At first, I thought I was watching some sort of mediocre film, but the next moment I keep my eyes on the pig, Babe has some sort of secrets hidden in those eyes of the pig. Great film for kids.

Despite being a movie for children "Babe" has many adult oriented themes, and addresses issues we would otherwise not think of. It is not only about death, and love, but about being who you want to be, and pursuing your dreams. It has a depth that most movies for kids do not have, and cinematically, there is a beauty, and charm that to this day has not been duplicated. The story will touch almost anyone's heart, whether young, or old.

A great movie. The best movie I have ever seen so far. So touched and reminds me of how to be more aware to animals. We should love such animals starting from now

A heartwarming kid-friendly movie, Babe tells a great story with lots of sentiment and emotion. It's almost impossible not to be affected by it in some way.

Great movie! A different movie of a different kind! No wonder of being nominated for Oscars! Great performances from both men and Animal! Sounds weird! but perfect! This is the best animal movie! A very heartwarming movie with an immense charm carried by Babe and everyone! Cutest movie of course! With a brilliant cinematography and perfect directing of Miller!

It has been a long time since I've watched Babe and I guess I'd forgotten how sad it actually it is! While its a great family film with very good themes and morals, there are also some rather depressing moments in it too. Cromwell & Szubanski breathe life into the Farmers and all the voice actors are spot on for their roles, especially Cavanaugh as Babe. It's a great storyline about a pig finding his place in the world and just one of those feel good films that was nice to re-watch

Very boring story line with some laughs provided by Ferdinand the duck. The first half of the film was fine, but the second half was uninteresting. The acting was decent.
