While X-Men Origins: Wolverine does have a few nagging issues, there is a great deal to like here as well.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine – Uncaged Edition rises above the normal sanitized superhero games we typically expect from the genre.

This is a fantastic game. Centered camera, fun combat, raw and brutal, excellent character design. Amazing game.

The superior wolverine game. This game just exudes raw cool energy. The combat is fun, badass and brutal. And wolverine does a lot of cool things during the set pieces.

It’s a savage game; the only thing more violent that the damage inflicted on Wolverine is the rapid and nonchalant dismemberment of everyone he comes into contact with. Mature’s one word for it: absurd and childish are other, more accurate words. But it’s a brilliant kind of ridiculous nonsense that’ll occasionally pull reluctant cheers out of your grown-up neck.

All told, X-Men Origins: Wolverine Uncaged Edition is a very playable and satisfying action game.

Sadly, this is another case of a game falling victim to the tie-in; cutting corners to meet a short deadline. If it were possible for more time to be spent fine-tuning everything this would be a much better game.

It's derivative and occasionally buggy, but solid action and over-the-top gore make X-Men Origins: Wolverine a cut above other movie tie-ins.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine may be one of the the best games based in the franchise, but the lack of impressive visuals, variation and a compelling story drags this game down. The game does nothing original and might as well be a worse version of God of War with sideburns.

A brutal "God of War"-type action game that is better than the movie itself. Developed by Raven Software (the team behind "X-Men Legends"), "Wolverine" is surprisingly good and very gory. It expands on the film's plot by adding extra scenarios and characters. Gameplay is a mix of combo-based combat, light puzzles and platforming. Each level features hidden upgrades and alternate costumes. Overall, this ranks up with "The Punisher" as another good M-rated Marvel Comics game. I would rate it with a 7.8 out of 10.

A pretty good hack'n'slash that I recommend everyone playing at some point. I really liked it and it was quite enjoyable.

Literally so cool. The perfect Wolverine game. Fills in the gaps of a lackluster movie. The best movie-licensed game of all-time.
