Toy Soldiers: War Chest feels like a game that was rushed through without care or polish. Nostalgia can’t save this game from being an absolute disappointment.
Toy Soldiers: War Chest is a great idea marred by unforgivable, technical flaws. Even with all of the problems that the game has, I still get enjoyment out of playing it, but it should be so much better.

Gimmicks aside, however, this is fairly rote and restrictive by modern tower defence standards. [Nov 2015, p.108]

The game's unplayable. After you do the tutorial, the menu freezes permanently. There is no fix. Even if you reinstall the game, it will not work. This bug has existed since 2015 and will effect everyone who attempts to play this at some point.

This game would probably be an 7 or 8, but.... For LOCAL coop, the first player has to have a Uplay account and a PS+ account! It's not online. The other big problem is that the DLC character can only be played by the account which owns them, not the second player. This is simply unaccaptable.

This game has great concept but lackluster delivery in every way. In typical Ubisoft fashion the game is full of bugs and non-working parts. Characters feel cheap and slapped together, and views are often problematic especially when zooming in to targets at a distance. All hero/toy options are the same just with different skins and animations and overall the game just feels like one big money grab.I truly hope a developer takes this idea and creates what this game should be but this one here is a disappointment. Had this game not come with so many issues it would be an ok buy for young kids but even then the price is completely unjustified. This is a game that should be free so I don't suggest buying this at all.

The interactivity and flow of the game make it so much more fun to play than you typical defense game that even non fans will find something to like here.

While War Chest could've used better matchmaking with player match-ups and a little more variety with battle missions, it's still a fun trip through kiddie nostalgia, especially if you double down on the Hall of Fame Edition and pit G.I. Joe against He-Man. I mean, who doesn't want to see that battle happen?!

This game is a blast to play on the couch with the kids. It has the feel of old school gaming and has plenty of options of how to play. Each character has a unique arsenal at his or her disposal and the battlefields are each unique in their own way. You can go it solo, or vs each other. The level up system for your units in play keeps it interesting and tense as wave after wave of enemy move to take your toybox. It is silly and a good time. The addition of the GI JOE and COBRA, HE MAN, ASSASSINS CREED is welcome. This is a family fun kind of **** you expect more go elsewhere. Well done.

Once again, Signal Studios have succeeded in making a game that combines in a perfect way three genres in one enjoyable experience. It has its flaws in some aspects like in its online mode or presentation, but overall, it offers a really entertaining title that fans of strategic action and tower defense games should try it at least once.

The merging of tower defense and shooter games is poorly implemented.

As someone that has greatly enjoyed the previous games in the series, Toy Soldiers: War Chest is a disappointing experience. The forced use of Uplay for much of the online content, DLC purchases being locked to the account that purchased it, and a myriad of technical issues hamper the quality of the game.

The game is different, odd, colourful, and often funny, but it feels like step backwards from its predecessors in more ways than one. And sadly playing as Battle Cat just doesn't seem to fix it.

Mais do mesmo. Parece a continuação da versão anterior com uma melhora aquí e acolá. Até alguns chefões são iguais como o trem por exemplo. O que melhorou um pouco é o gráfico e algumas jogabilidades. Até interessante, mas nada em especial.

As a big fan of the first 2 Toy Soldiers games I jumped at the chance to get this. The game play is a lot like the others, but with more armies, and less towers per army. The different towers for each army differ in their usage so each army is going to feel unique and the battles are as fun as ever. However, they released the game too soon, and it is still a buggy mess. It has crashed on me at least 5 times in the past 24 hours, and it's often telling me I don't have the dlc heros when I do. It's never crashed on me during a battle so far, so the game isn't broken, but it needs some patching. I will adjust my rating and review after they patch the game, but for now I would say, unless you are already a fan of the game or love tower defense games, you should probably hold off until it's fixed. Still a lot of fun, and the battles are great, it also may not be buggy if you didn't buy the dlc characters, but it was clearly released too soon.

A good game spoiled by bad business practices. This is a fun game, it brings back the fun from cold war, but if you buy the "hall of fame edition" (aka complete game) don't expect to play it entirely with your family or friends in the same room, because only the account that redeemed the dlc code or bought it from psn will be able to access all the armies, even if you play offline, in splitscreen.
