Kingdom Eighties
Despite its simplistic setup, Kingdom Eighties will hoover up hour after hour of your time. There’s a captivating quality to its pure, focused strategy, and combined with its more narrative-driven focus Kingdom Eighties is a must-play game in 2023.
Kingdom Eighties is a great title for those interested in the series and a worthy distraction for those waiting for the next big release! Its neon style and synthwave charm will get you hooked, and its fun mechanics and plot will keep you wanting more.
It may only last you a few hours, but Kingdom Eighties: Summer of Greed is well worth spending some time with. Its simple gameplay is infectious, and you’ll rejoice as you expand your basecamp, pushing enemies back in the process. There’s limited guidance but you’ll soon get to grips with what you should be doing, soaking in the absolutely gorgeous visuals as you do.

Kingdom Eighties: summer of Greed is part of the Kingdom series but set in the 1980's with very Stranger Things vibes. The graphics are cool pixel art and the vibe is brilliant. The story is simple enough and keeps you chugging along while not getting you too bogged down. The game is pretty short clocking in around five hours which is perfect for me too. Unfortunately, the gameplay didn't really grab me. You basically hire builders and fighters then clear trees to reclaim the map and open up new opportunities to earn money and push back the Greed. It is fun enough but it fails to develop from there and I was over it before I got to the finish line. Also, the movement is pretty slow and you get knackered and need to stop frequently which discouraged me from exploring. Overall, great vibe, cool graphics and sound but a bit basic on the gameplay for me.

A short game following a story. Liked the different concept. Not a solid stone but a funny gameplay, recommend it.

Kingdom Eighties is a fantastic tribute to the 80s, offering satisfying base-building and plenty of nods to the movies of the time.

Kingdom Eighties will satisfy any players who picked up one of the previous installments in the series and appreciates its indirect strategy concept. The four main characters are pretty cool, the rest of the kids do great work chopping down trees and battling demons, and the presentation is impressive in how well it evokes the ‘80s. The action is sometimes a little slow, and relying on others to act can lead to some frustration. Still, the universe of Kingdom Eighties is so nice, and the nostalgia vibes are so strong that it’s worth investing time to experience both its mechanics and narrative.

But Why Tho?
Kingdom Eighties is a fun detour in a typically serious series, and it’s definitely worth the trip. If you’re unfamiliar with all references, you’ll still find a short but enjoyable adventure.

INVEN
The latest title in the Kingdom series, reconstructed in the retro vibe of the 80s. Visuals and musics resemble the scene from the 'Stranger Things' are quite attractive. Though it is a bit regrettable that the overall system is similar to the previous game, and the amount of content is a bit too short except for the addition of fellow NPCs.

Kingdom Eighties: Summer of Greed is an excellent introduction to the series that checks every box that makes these games so fun. While it doesn’t introduce new elements to the core systems, its unique setting and campaign serve to get new players invested and hold off returning players as we await the next mainline entry. Yes, it is relatively easy and short, but its high-quality presentation makes this an easy recommendation.

Dumbed down reskin of the previous games. Less content, less replayability, and underwhelming soundtrack. It took only 4 hours to beat on hard mode. I wish they would just expand on the Kingdom formula instead of just putting out the same game over and over again with a different theme. This game is a huge step back for the series.
