Rome Remastered is the perfect way to experience Total War's antiquity offering in 2021 short of a third Rome title.

Excellent throwback to memories of our younger selves, Total War: Rome Remastered reminds us how good the basics of this series were and how far it has travelled in the last seventeen years.

Total War: Rome Remastered is the perfect way to relive the old memories and conquer the ancient world once again. The hugely improved graphics, general bug fixing and the with new control schemes and interface also make it a more accessible product for newcomers as well.

A lovingly crafted refresh of a classic Total War game that manages to recapture both its triumphs and its tragedies.

Total War: Rome was the really big breakout moment for the series, and as a bona fide classic, the remaster makes sense - even if it is just for the sake of nostalgia. I don't think the strategy genre necessarily lends itself to modernisation when the thing that needs moderising the most would have taken Rome Remastered and turned it into Total War: Rome 3, but if you remember what it's like to enjoy older strategy games like Rome, the remaster is going to be quite the rush.

Total War: Rome Remastered is a blast of nostalgia for those who have fond memories of losing hours of their night as they attempt to conquer just one more enemy city. Nostalgia is also the primary selling point for the game, however, as new players would be better-suited starting with a more recent title and experienced fans will miss certain quality of life features present in modern strategy games. While Total War: Rome Remastered does an honorable job of reviving an old classic, the fresh coat of paint does little to cover up its outdated mechanics, and it's likely that only established fans looking to return to a title they loved once before will get much out the remaster as a result.

The gold standard of how to make remasters. Not just another lazy retexture, but support of multi-core processors, large amounts of RAM and tons of QoL optional features have been added. Devs fixed many AI and balance issues. Added trade agents and previously closed factions. Surprisingly, with such an impressive list of changes and new features, Ferals managed to carefully preserve the spirit of the original. And most importantly, there is the possibility of modding, thanks to which Rome and Medieval 2 are still afloat.

merak edenler için orijinal oyunun kusursuz bir deneyimi. tabi sıkıntılı yönleri de geliyor. eski bir oyun, bunu göze almak lazım.

The remaster of one of my favourite games from my youth leaves much to be desired. I understand that for the most part a lot of what the remaster brings to the table makes for a better, more bearable experience. Underneath all the jank are still the bones of one of the greatest strategy games of its time. I just think a few more patches to iron out the kinks wouldn't be amiss. The enemy AI isn't really competent or logical in battle or on the campaign map, many times sieging a province and asking for a ceasefire, only for you to accept and see them start sieging you down again. The pathfinding is still horrendous; glitches and the aforementioned horrible pathfinding ruin quite a few field battles, let alone sieges. The AI will feel no remorse stabbing you in the back even when you have 100 trust and have never in your life threatened them with anything, which makes any alliances you have feel brittle and useless. The battlefields feel as empty as ever despite the graphical upgrades, etc. If memory serves me right, the outcome is a remaster that stays true to the source material. Yet for my liking, I wish they brought more of the clearly ancient systems from 2004 into the modern era with this remaster.

A complete waste of time and money, as a die hard fan of the original I was really looking forward to this game. What I got was some fancy graphical update that doesnt even stand on its own two feet. The game crashes constantly, the gameplay seems slow and dated, and I didnt even attempt the campaigns as I couldnt even get the custom battles to run without crashes. Take it from an OG total war fan skip this one!

The interface is really not user friendly compared to Rome II, Attitla, Shogun 2 and other games in the series.
