Pikmin 2

Captain Olimar is now joined by larrikin Louie - a clever addition that allows efficient multi-tasking, more complex puzzles and absorbing two-player action.

A must own, as it's one of the very best games this year on any system.

A wholly enjoyable follow-up to the original and manages to keep things fun for a long, long time with its lengthier single-player adventure, host of streamlined gameplay additions, and extensive multi-player modes.

Nintendo has really stepped up to the plate on this one and hit a homerun. If you like the original Pikmin, you'll pee in your pants with delight when you play Pikmin 2.

With tons of new levels, characters, and treasures, this game will have you coming back for more, even after you've paid off that debt. They've taken everything that we've held dear about the original, and expanded it throughout, making a more complete game and creating something that is a pleasure to play.

Take the excellent formula to the original Pikmin and combine it with new Pikmin colors, a new character and a versus mode and you've obviously got a great game. Still, I found the sublevels and the limitations on being able to collect the white and purple Pikmin pretty tedious.

A great exploration-based real time strategy and puzzle game, but a fractured one.

Bruv Pikmin 2 takes down the whole series. Hey Pikmin practically killed itself in this case.

good, but the caves drag it down to being just kinda worse than the other pikmin games

PIKMIN 2 had the making to be the ultimate sequel to PIKMIN but feels bloated and perhaps could have been better with less content and greater focus on polish. I would highly recommend Pikmin 2.

The Good • The Pikmin AI has been vastly improved from Pikmin 1. • The quality of life added to throwing is really nice. Should be noted that it was added to Pikmin 1 as well in its ports. The Bad • Pikmin 2’s balance is bad. It gets way too difficult once you get past the 10000 Poko objective and a lot of the game's faults are related to that • The Doomsday Apparatus single-handedly makes Purple Pikmin a nightmare to deal with, as you need 100 Purple Pikmin to carry the Doomsday Apparatus. This means both wanting to reset upon a loss of a Purple Pikmin, and having to grind for them. • The game is mostly caves which is a problem because they aren’t really good. They’re randomly generated and are way too hard by the end. Overall Pikmin 2 is I can't imagine myself coming back to, at least not often. The poor balancing ends up spreading to the entire game and horribly messing things up.
