If you've played Halo: Combat Evolved back and forth over the past 25 years, there's little new here. The short additional campaign that comes with it isn't worth the price of admission alone, and since this is purely a campaign, with co-op for up to four players, there's no further multiplayer options here. Not everyone cares about that, and if what's most important to you is your first journey with Master Chief, either solo or in delightful co-op fun, Halo: Campaign Evolved is a great way to experience an essential piece of gaming history.

A rare adventure – I can already say that this is the craziest gaming experience of the year.

It's not far off the mark on the character scale - this is clearly the best version of Black Flag - but the experience clearly bears the mark of the time it came out and pales in comparison to many of the games that have come since.

If you're a fan of Sword Art Online and like big games with highly variable challenges, Echoes of Aincrad is made for you. For my part, I feel like I've had enough, and I won't remember this game as anything other than a game that could have been a summer favorite if it had made a few very simple changes. Balance the difficulty, and fix the level design. Half the game could have been shredded, with good reason.

A remake of the classic N64 title Star Fox delivers a visually overhauled experience that stays faithful to the 1997 original. The updated graphics look fantastic, and the orchestral music stands out as never before. The new Joy-Con mouse controls are awkward, but the core gameplay holds up well for both newcomers and returning players.

Deer & Boy is visually endearing, clever and incredibly fun at times, but suffers from a lack of depth, both in its characters and mechanics.

Gothic 1 Remake offers a ruthless, uncompromising world full of secrets and unique moments – but technical issues and an unforgiving learning curve will test even the most patient players.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales doesn't quite reach the heights of other recent Square Enix games. It has great level design, but too much repetition from traveling back and forth between nearly identical versions of the same map.

Jötunnslayer: Hordes of Hel is a fantastic autobattler with great skills, levels and some of the best music you'll ever hear in a game.
