Myth II: Soulblighter
Basically, Bungie left no stone unturned in its quest to improve an already solid product. As a result, Myth II is about as good as a computer game can possibly be.
Going up against another player in Myth 2 makes me feel more like a tactical leader than any other RTS has before. You feel more in control of the flow of battle; after playing Myth 2, battles in other RTS games feel like you're just throwing guys at the enemy.
While touted as a full-fledged sequel, Myth II shares so many similarities to the original that it feels somewhat more like an "expansion pack" than a brand new product. While this isn't necessarily a bad thing ("If it isn't broke, don't fix it"), some players might hope for more enhancements and alterations.

Great Sequel to a great RTS, the only problem is that it is too short. I reply to this game from time to time...

If any series deserves a refresh (similar to Diablo II: Resurrected) it's this one. Modern Game Economics may not allow for a successor to follow in the footsteps without making it a gross cosmetic-infested cash grab, but a refresh would be a great happy medium.

Unreal game. Single player story is fantastic, multiplayer is great. Game play is unique. Game is still really good fun 20 years on.

With various scenarios and landscapes, free Internet play, an excellent story and presentation, and one of the most terrifying main villains I have ever seen, Soulblighter will keep you happy (I haven't even mentioned the map editor yet!).

Simply put, Bungie did an excellent job at reading the faults of the original by making change where change was needed and leaving the successful areas alone... In the end, whether playing single player or multiplayer, Myth II offers the best real-time strategy experience in the industry.

The beginning of Myth II grabs you right by the throat and won't let go to the very end... While the story may be wonderful in Myth II, it's the gameplay that really shines, both in single and multi player, a claim that many games can't make.

Myth II has wanton carnage, great multiplayer action, and killer graphics. What more could you want? [May 1999, p.101]

One feature I really loved about this game was the way terrain was handled... This is something that I felt was missing from most other games of this genre, and is a welcome feature that really brings the game to another level, especially in multiplayer.

Every mission gives you a new perspective on the game, causing you to re-evaluate your prior thoughts and strategies, giving priority to different units in different battles.

I have been playing this game since I was 7. Get this game, go to ****, download 1.8.1 beta (the newest version as of this review) and play online with the rest of us every weekend. This game is AWESOME once you know how to play it. The 2-team strategy involved with other players is so beautiful, exciting, and complex. Myth II deserves a true sequel.

A fantastic game. Fun single player, awesome creative multiplayer. Mods galore. I had years of friendships and entertainment from this game. Pure strategic, tactical, and teamwork fun. Top honors.
