I have enjoyed this game beginning to end! The atmosphere was top notch and kept me on the edge of my seat pretty much all the way through. The story alone is worth the experience and fits the silent hill franchise so well. The combat isn’t anything special but not the worst thing ever but for the most part it’s recommended to play it stealthily even though combat is an option especially when caught and cornered. Overall I enjoyed this game so much and looking forward to future Silent Hill games definitely recommend this game!

Outstanding game. Perfectly paced, well balanced and well written. They incorporated way more gameplay mechanics than any previous chapter and the puzzles are the best since the first 2 games in the series. The all stealth-debacle is way overblown, the game delivers in every single aspect and it's the most ambitious entry in the series, probably since 2001. It's great to see a story-driven horror game that still presents a challenge rather than just being a walking simulator. The idea behind it is solid and the execution is absolutely perfect.

The complaints I keep seeing about stealth are overblown and illustrate a lack of skill, resourcefulness & or intelligence in approaching this game. Screen Burn did a fantastic job with this, both as a horror game & as a Silent Hill game. St. Amelia might not related to the original town, but it captures what it is to be a Silent Hill game (and not just because of the fog although that, too, is very well done). The setting/location, graphics, story, gameplay, new CRTV mechanic, New Game+ unlocks and the 5 different endings are all just great. The attention to detail in St. Amelia is top notch. They nailed the 90's Scotland aesthetic. I've yet to see a poster or writing on objects that is gibberish or low-effort lorem ipsum. The Strange Postcards are also a great addition. Love the Otherworld aesthetic too. I'm probably going to be replaying this game for a while. I'd rate this equal to or slightly above SH2R and both SH2R & Townfall far above SHf. SHf was an action-fest and the farthest thing from a Silent Hill game in my opinion, so that shouldn't come as a surprise. Side note: the complaints about The Weight are also overblown. I've had no issues getting through the Medical Center on Normal mode. All this to say: straight 10/10.

Silent Hill: Townfall is easily one of my favorite Silent Hill games. The atmosphere is incredible, the music is haunting and beautiful, and most importantly, the story is genuinely mature, emotional, and meaningful. This game reminded me of what I loved so much about the Team Silent era. Silent Hill has never been just about monsters or trying to scare you. At its best, it uses horror to explore people—their guilt, trauma, emotions, relationships, and the darker parts of the human mind. Townfall understands that. The characters feel human, and the story actually gives you something to think about long after you finish the game. There is a purpose behind the horror. There is a message behind what you are experiencing. It doesn’t feel like you’re simply fighting monsters because the game needs enemies to throw at you. That’s what separates Silent Hill from many other horror games for me. I enjoy games like Resident Evil, but Silent Hill gives me something completely different. I’m not here just to survive monsters. I want a story that gets inside my head, makes me uncomfortable, makes me emotional, and leaves me thinking about what it all meant after the credits roll. Townfall did exactly that. The atmosphere, soundtrack, writing, and characters came together beautifully. I honestly did not expect it to affect me this much. It captures the psychological and emotional side of Silent Hill that made me fall in love with this series in the first place. For me, Silent Hill: Townfall belongs among the top Silent Hill games. Well done, ScreenBurn very well done

It's a good game but lacks Silent Hill lore. I hate how they are using the nine red squares but not explaining why it's here. Beside that i enjoyed my time with Townfall.

I enjoyed this game much more than Silent Hill f. The CRTV mechanic is a fantastic idea and works incredibly well. The story genuinely hooked me, and the graphics are solid too. As a millennial, the 90s setting really hit me. The 1996 atmosphere is absolutely fantastic — floppy disks, payphones, old company logos, flyers, corporate videos and advertisements… all those little details are a masterpiece and brought back so much nostalgia. I’ve heard people complain about frame drops, but on PS5 I only experienced them a few times. There’s more stealth than combat, but once I learned how to play the game properly, it really clicked for me. At this point, it’s easily in my top 3 games of the year. The puzzles are challenging, but solving them without any hints is incredibly satisfying. I’m playing on Normal difficulty when it comes to combat and with puzzle hints turned off, and I think that’s the perfect way to experience it.

The worst Silent Hill game in entire history, puzzles are awful, history doesnt make sense, stealth is disgusting, this "game" doesnt deserve being called Silent Hill

Silent Hill Townfall stands out for its exceptional atmosphere, near-flawless level design, and a mature, human story that is deeply integrated into the game world. Its puzzles are particularly outstanding: varied, challenging, and seamlessly connected to both the narrative and the **** audiovisual presentation is surprisingly impressive for an AA production, featuring photorealistic visuals, highly detailed environments, and an outstanding sound and musical design. The horror works especially well thanks to its constant tension and organic moments of danger, avoiding an overreliance on jump scares.Although the combat and certain enemy encounters could use more polish, these are secondary aspects in an experience that excels through its cohesion, atmosphere, narrative, and design.

A great return to Silent Hill, with influences from Kojima's P.T., all the mystery of the first Silent Hill mixed with Oulast. A great story, with truly challenging puzzles and visually spectacular. Highly recommended!

I am a big fan of the Silent Hill franchises. That being said, the game was a laborious chore to finish. The amount of back tracking was beyond excessive. If this game bores you early on stop because it will not get better. I was glad when it was finished so I can delete it from my hard drive.

Very well done atmosphere, narrative, game tone, save mechanic/enemy tracker. Also sound design and cinematic visuals were great. The stealth gameplay was barebones though. The problem solving with the puzzles was nice in the fact that it made you think for yourself, but the combat, little enemy variety, and exploration were tedious and repetitive.

Fantastically eerie, Silent Hill Townfall builds on the strengths of the Silent Hill formula for storytelling while examining gameplay reminiscent of recent Resident Evil titles. The story is engaging, voice acting superb and puzzles sufficiently challenging while not being off putting. This is a real win for Silent Hill and horror fans alike.

+ good atmosphere
+ cool mechanics such as safeing game + CRTV
+ exploration: everything is so detailed, it feels that the town is living!
+ story
+ storytelling
- nothing to do wiht the order
- nothing to do wiht the actual town silent hill
- NG+ is boring, pretty much the same experience, so no replayability
- Triggering Endings based on stupid things, could have done better +/- stealth horror: i like that but im not sure if it fits to the franchise. Silent hill f was action horror, which dont fit imo.

Realmente ame este silent hill. Una experiencia redonda. Para alguien como yo que su primer silent hill fue el 1 me fascinó.

Nice graphics and overall atmosphere. Gameplay is basic and frustrating with enemies that are a mix between stupidity and cheating one-shotters. weapons are almost useless and exploration is barely useless as well, with tons of rooms filled with nothing and empty drawers. With thousands of laid off designers I think it's a shame to see only bad ones working in the industry. UPDATE: Just found there's a critical bug that prevent you to collect a key in one of the most frustrating part of the game. It's ZERO out of ten this time, if you can't even test such a simple game you don't deserve to be a developer.

While the melee combat leaves much to be desired, SH Townfall delivers an incredible stealth-focused experience. The puzzle design is outstanding, easily some of the best in the entire franchise. Finally, the story is quite good, but it's told differently than what we're used to in a Silent Hill game. It leaves much less up to interpretation and takes a far more direct approach to storytelling

Game play was good but the story was awful and the cutscenes were designed to make you fall asleep before the next little jump scare. actually insane how you managed to make a games cutscenes that boring, and even for $50 the games too short

A massive disappointment that feels like a budget Outlast clone rather than a true psychological horror game. The gameplay loop is incredibly flat and repetitive, forcing you into a tedious "hide-and-seek" routine with rigid, predictable enemy patrols. The environments lack interactivity, the puzzles are uninspired, and the game completely lacks any real tension or unpredictable scares. It feels like a generic indie stealth title that simply slapped the Silent Hill name on the box to boost sales. Beautiful fog cannot save a game that is this mechanically dead and boring.

The setting, gameplay, audio, all of it is incredible. This game has instantly become my second favourite silent hill game, topped only by the original silent hill 2. Really hope the devs get a chance to make another

Silent Hill Townfall is not a bad game, but as a Silent Hill tittle it has disappointed me. What works best is the atmosphere, the setting and the graphics, I really liked the soundtrack and music too it has its own identity. The problem is that the game feels slow and tedious to play. The environments all look quite similar to each other, there aren't many different types of enemies there isn't much combat, there is only one boss who feels like they put it in at the last minute and without much effort, and in the end everything becomes repetitive. The puzzles aren't bad, but if all you have are puzzles and there isn't any action or an engaging story it becomes boring and slow. I got bored while playing it honestly. The gameplay doesn't help either, they prioritize stealth and that terror of feeling helpless with few resources, unlike other Silent Hill games that featured more combat and more resources, making the game more dynamic, and I don't think that change works well. Before you had very different locations, like the hospital and the hotel in 2 or the shopping mall and apartments in 3. Here there isn't that variety, and progressing through the game always feels pretty much the **** story of Zoe and Simon isn't very engaging either. It's generic and cold, and I never really connected with it. Neither the story or the characters made me feel much of anything. It's nothing like how intimate James's story was in 2 or Heather's in 3. On my PC the performance was also a bit rough. The only things that really feel like Silent Hill are the basics: the real world, the fog world and the Otherworld. The empty town, the fog, the feeling that at first the character doesn't know what's going on, and not much else. On top of that, I didn't really liked the Otherworld It doesn't look or feel much like the Otherworlds from the other Silent Hill games. I also haven't seen much hype around the game, and even though it has received good scores such as an 81 on Metacritic I haven't really seen people loving it that **** the end, Silent Hill Townfall is not a bad game It has its strengths and weaknesses, but I expected more from a title belonging to one of the best survival horror series like Silent Hill. Neither the environments, the story, the characters, or the gameplay really convinced me and although it has some redeeming qualities, it's not a game I'm going to remember.+

I'm seven hours into the game and I just had to write a review because this game truly deserves to be recognized. I played the Silent Hill 2 remake and I've been a huge fan of the series ever since. I wish I'd had the chance to play the original games from the '90s, but I was too young ;). I love the color palette of Silent Hill Townfall, the way the story unfolds gradually, its gameplay with very few hints, its music, its sound design, and especially its atmosphere. You want to know what happens next, you want to unravel the mystery of this hell that is Silent Hill. The opening menu alone is worth experiencing for its iconic music. You immediately understand what you're getting into. I realize that by playing so many horror games, I've developed a very particular relationship with this genre. I love them primarily not for the fear they evoke, but for their atmosphere and art direction. A well-crafted horror game needs to be subtle, believable, with effective gameplay and a compelling story. This blend of Alien: Isolation and Silent Hill is superb. And all for €35, incredible ! Go for it, it's worth it! Psychological horror, deep emotions, and profound reflections await.

Overall a good game with a great setting, good characters and a good story. The stealth sections are pretty rough, i found them a slog to get through. Some of the puzzles without a guide make absolutely no sense

Great game, enthralling story, Great performance on ps5 pro, smooth. Probably bombed by base ps5 players expecting it to run Great. The console is old now. Combat is more hide and take 1 out if you can bear theough to the end then it's like endgame SH2 shotgun vibes, realistic. Its got the SH2 goosebumps vibes. Don't listen to anyone voting it under 7 its lies. Sincerely a horror gamer lover for 30 years Really pisses me off as this is a brilliant game! I'd give it a 9 all day. Not quite as good as sh2 but man I loved every second of it. Only a few monsters did some jank things like 1 percent of the time but so does every horror game lol

Game was awesome. Might play again to get another ending. IMO the best Silent Hill since SH2 and 3. For most of the game it’s very much like SH2 but the player hits way lighter and enemies hit way harder, and its first person.

Atmosphere and audio are great but gameplay is bad. It’s a hide and seek game and you have to read notes everywhere to progress the story. Mostly a fetch quest , go to X location only to find out you have to go back somewhere else to get a key and come back, it’s an old out of date gameplay style.
I’d give this one a hard pass as it’s worse than Silent Hill f

When I found the alien isolation devs did most of this game I was excited. The CRTV is genius. A chunky little handheld TV that hisses, scans, and shows you what’s waiting through walls. It’s not a gimmick. It’s your lifeline, your puzzle tool, and your worst friend.Stealth is tense. Combat is ugly and desperate when you have to fight. Puzzles actually make you think. The story — guilt, corporate rot, a town that won’t stay buried — lands like a punch.Pilotpriest’s score slaps. The Otherworld still slaps. Multiple endings give you a reason to go back.Best new Silent Hill since the classics. Play it.

I honestly really loved this game, by the time I finished the game and wrapped the story up I actually though it was a pretty refreshing take on the series, the atmosphere was great, the story was different in a good way, I personally think this game had some of the most challenging puzzles in the series, I really really enjoyed my time with this game and I’m excited to do a ng+ run, definitely a solid entry to the series

Overall a pretty good horror game, but not as replayable as I was hoping because of some annoying areas (the ending of Part 3 in particular). Parts 1, 2, most of 3, and 4 are the most enjoyable for me. The combat is far more serviceable than some people are complaining about. I actually enjoyed it, despite the game punishing you for engaging with it in the ending cutscene (silly choice by devs). Sound design is incredible. The way it builds dread and changes when an enemy is close or spots you is so well done. I love that the game doesn't hold your hand or assist you when stuck. More games need to get back to this style, but some choices were just insane to me. Overall, I enjoyed this and thought the puzzles were great. They're difficult and engaging without being impossible, aside from the control room symbol nonsense in Part 6 - the only time I broke and googled. I think many people will find them to be obtuse, though, and I get it. Glad I played.

It's the worst Silent Hill i ever played: the plot is "meh," the characters are flat and unengaging, there’s stuttering even with a 5090 at times, and the gameplay is forgettable (way too much stealth), with puzzles that are both boring and overly complex. The only saving graces are the setting and the sound design... P.S. Most of these issues seemed less noticeable at the start, but from the halfway point onwards, that’s how it is.
