Saints Row IV: Re-Elected might be the developer's attempt trying to do something new while doing it under the guise of a popular brand name. The emphasis on super-powers that renders the tacked-on driving and shooting redundant is likely an intentional message from the team, that this just is not Saints Row anymore. The result is a weird and confusing action title with tons of features, which has a huge well of jokes that fly by really fast. The only aspect that makes Saints Row IV truly worthwhile, is the comedic, over the top spectacle and characters. It's not the mind-numbing gameplay.
The problem here is that not only does Saints Row IV look kind of bad, it runs abysmally. It takes a lot to get me to feel negatively towards one of my all-time favourite games, but this kind of achieves that dubious goal.
Overall, I’d say if you haven’t played Saints Row IV before to give it a shot. I honestly had a blast going through this. If you have, well, the novelty of having it portable might not justify the price tag. I have heard from Volition that the bugs ARE being worked on but, at the moment, there’s no definite time frame for when the DLC will actually be available for Switch players, and I can’t help but be a little disappointed at that.

Notice - I played on Switch 2. Funny, chaotic, interesting, a lot to do, deeper than it seems, best Matrix Game, not a GTA clone, absurd, one of its kind. On Switch 2 works well, looks well and is a very, very fun ride. Recommend it very much.

Aside from a less than stellar control system for combat, there’s very little negative to be said about Saints Row IV: Re-Elected. You get a tonne of content that will keep you occupied for a very long time. It’s a really good port of the game and does it justice. This is the sort of game that reminds you that even though it might not have the grunt of its competition, the Switch is a very capable system and can produce complex games.

Sure, it might be starting to show its age a little in places, but Saints Row IV is still a great way to cut loose and enjoy the fun that unbridled chaos and a childish sense of humor can bring. And the extra content you get in the Re-Elected edition that just released on the Nintendo Switch means you can enjoy it for even longer as you play through everything Deep Silver threw at the swan song of the main Saints Row series.

This felt like the main goal for this game was to have fun. I always felt like there was something to do and I never got bored because of all the different activities. I ended up 100% this game because it just had a stellar gameplay loop and felt really rewarding. The plot and humor in this was perfectly suited for me. I really appreciated what this game did with its cheesy B action movie plot. Even with the characters and plot it wanted to make sure you had fun with a constant flow of humor and high camp performances. The combat was also really well done and gave a good mix of super powers and gunplay.

While Saints Row the Third proved a more inconsistent port – mainly because it was a much older game – Saints Row IV: Re-Elected fares far better with better performance, minimal input lag and a refreshingly solid output in handheld mode. It’s gunplay is always going to be messy and its unashamed sense of humour will undoubtedly offend some, but having such an activity rich experience running so well on your handheld console isn’t to be sniffed at. And with so much extra content available in the Re-Elected package, Switch players have another long-term investment on their hands.

The bullet comedy extravaganza action game from Volition returns on Switch. It's old and a little bit messy, but you're probably going to love it anyway.

Saints Row IV: Re-Elected on Nintendo Switch is a fantastic port of a good game. Though it has not aged all that well graphically, the hilarious story and addicting gameplay of the original release translate incredibly well to Switch. Those looking for a sandbox game to play on the go will find a great one in Saints Row IV: Re-Elected. However, its $40 price tag is a bit high for a seven-year-old game.

Saints Row IV is a fun game that hasn’t aged very well, and this version has some rough edges and issues that make it harder to recommend. There’s a lot of fun to be had here, but keep in mind you’ll have to face some technical issues and obsolete gameplay features.

Forget what other people say....This is such a great game. Great gameplay, Great fun. Tons of hours can be sunk in this game if you really wanted too. The open World is larger then i have first thought and it is even a good looking game on the Switch. Dont run in to to much Framerate dips all much. A fun game to pick up and easy to learn. Good job Nintendo

I got this game on sale for a very low price ($3 equivalent) so I feel bad for complaining… but even the price of an espresso can’t excuse the amount of game breaking problems with this port. Several times the game got stuck on an infinite loading screen, forcing me to restart the game and redo long missions with no checkpoints. At one point at the end of another very long mission with no checkpoints the game hard crashed. It’s a shame as the game itself is very good, well written and a fun mash-up of GTA/The Matrix/Mass Effect and more. But it’s unplayable in this condition.

Before they add the dlc, this game was good, now the game crash every 15 minutes. The game is literally unplayable, I filled out my complaint to the developer but the just promised they would launch a patch to fix it some day.
