There’s a lot to do in Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl, which looks as good as a top-down Pokemon game is going to get for some time. It also benefits more than any other sequel in the series from a predecessor due to online capabilities. [JPN Import]

Pokemon Pearl is my favorite Pokemon game of all time and a game that truly changed my life as a kid. The nostalgia it brings is unmatched, and revisiting Sinnoh always feels special. Its story is easily top 2 in the entire Pokemon series, with memorable characters, legendary pokemon, and a sense of adventure that still holds up today. It's also one of the more challenging Pokemon games, making victories feel rewarding and team-building more meaningful. Visually, the game has one of the sweetest and most charming art styles in the franchise. Even years later, Pokemon Pearl remains a timeless classic that I’ll always cherish.

A great game with an ambitious transition from the gameboy era to the DS era. A bit buggy, but still fantastic

Pokémon Diamond/Pearl are great Pokémon adventures. The Sinnoh region is possibly the best-built region in terms of routes and map quality, making the game a "metroidvania". The lore of the series was greatly expanded in this game, and the new species are very good overall. The game offers a good amount of content, both main and secondary (such as contests, searching for minerals, building secret bases, etc.)However... the adventure has significant problems that make the Platinum version and the remakes Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl better options today. The gameplay is considerably slower than in other games, the game seems poorly optimized and slow. This is even more problematic when we see that the region is made to be explored carefully by the player. Furthermore, the HMS here are very invasive or even forced. The pokedex in this version is extremely limited, many characters do not have Pokémon of their corresponding type, and the player has few options. Many Pokémon from Sinnoh are ridiculously rare/hard to get or only obtainable in the post-game. This also makes the game more repetitive, as you will always encounter the same Pokémon in battles. To top it all off, I think the story is poorly told in this version. Conclusion: Pokémon Diamond/Pearl are good games, however, there is no real reason to play this version if there is Platinum or the Switch remakes. Despite this, it will be guaranteed fun, I guarantee that!

There are a metric buttload of Pokemon to catch and you'll be hard pressed to finish everything this game offers in under 100 hours, much less 150 or maybe even 200.

Whatever anyone tells you, you're never too old to enjoy Pokémon. Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot, a liar or possibly both. No, the immense depth, inescapable charms and boundless personalisation found here is enough to put most other commercial releases to shame, with the new battle mechanics making Diamond and Pearl even more covertly complex than the series has previously been.

this was a great pokemon game for it's time. if you're reading this in 2021, don't buy the remake, it's just this game but with better graphics. the didn't improve anything.

Pokemon Pearl version is my favorite pokemon game hands down and the only pokemon game where I had more than 200 hours. The game was entertaining both during the main journey and afterwards. I spent hours in the mines digging and setting different traps. I loved making poffins with my sister and then doing contests. It very multiplayer friendly and just so fun in general! That being said, I would give it a 10.0!

While naysayers can decry the repetition, the strength of the handheld series continues to be that nobody will whip through the games in few weeks. Diamond’ or ‘Pearl’ are worthwhile investments because they represent months and months of gameplay.

The addition of online trades and battles finally delivers on the promise that the first Pokémon games made. The crucial social interactivity aspect of Pokémon now takes place on a global scale. It only took 10 years!

Whether you’re a hardened Pokemaniac, an open-minded person with a love of great games or even an impressionable child, you’ll struggle to get better value for money than you will find in this glimmering pair. [June 2007, p.124]

Though the online mode fails to reach its potential, the game itself is polished to perfection.

A Super Game With An Intense plot. You See, in this game, you are a trainer who goes on a journey over a region. there is a new villain group called team galactic who want to wake up either dialga or palkia with the use of uxie mesprit and azelf. So go on this great journey and find yourself in it.

Awesome presentation but the gameplay is subpar, tiny regional dex and slow battles. It is challenging though which I do like

Overall - 7.5/10 Difficulty - Hard Platform - PC Replay Value - 7/10 Gameplay - 6.5/10 Hours Played - 70 hrs Extra Notes: I played a soul-link vers. of this which was much more challenging compared to the newer games and overall personally one of my favourite Pokemon games.

Utter Garbage. Slowest battle pacing along with Pokemon Diamond. What did the devs smoke when they decided that it takes 5 minutes until the life bar is empty? Waste of time not recommended
SummaryPokemon Diamond and Pearl are traditional Pokemon RPGs that takes place in a region called Sinnoh. When you set off on your travels, you'll be able to play as either a boy or girl Trainer. Pokemon fans have caught glimpses of Lucario, Munchlax and Weavile in Pokemon movies, and these Pokemon will are debuting in this adventure. Diamond a... Read More
