Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Every time I think I'm losing interest in Pokémon, Game Freak does something to reinvigorate me. The Pokémon Pearl and Diamond remakes last year were fine, though I ended up spending more time just playing the original Pokémon Pearl again. I needed something like Arceus, I think, to get me to once again drop dozens of hours into a single game. This is a brave, bold game into new frontiers for Game Freak, and it confidently promises a new and revitalised future for the series.

Pokemon Legends Arceus delivers the kind of Pokemon game experience so many have been hoping and asking for such a long time and the potential to do more is huge. The satisfaction of the main story to the new style of battling and focus on exploring this world rather than just being in it gives it an amazing tone that is not about just “I wanna be the very best” and instead has a far richer “I want to learn everything to share that knowledge with everyone” goal that I thrive on. What an incredible way to kick off 2022 as a Nintendo Switch owner.

Generally speaking, the Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a work with outstanding plot and depth, excellent open world design and interesting new battle mode. Although there are many deficiencies in explicit aspects, it still creates the most ideal form of Pokemon world in my mind, and thus becomes the best series of Pokemon works in five years, worthy of the suffix of "Arceus" in the name.

Arceus is one of the big games of the year. Perhaps not the best or the most polished, but one of the most fun and relevant to the industry, which is no small thing. The philosophical and mechanical change that it can trigger in the saga is one of its letters of introduction, despite the more than improvable technical section.

Pokemon Legends Arceus outshines the open-world concept of Sword and Shield and revisits the natural elements of the series and their environment first introduced in Pokemon Snap. Not everyone will appreciate the departure from the main series, however, and the lack of battles, missing multiplayer, and small number of Pokemon make for a very different experience that leaves you wanting more. The ideas and potential are definitely there, and if this is just a small sampling of what Game Freak can do with the series — we can’t wait for more.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is far from perfect. The visual issues and boring opening stretch make that clear. However, the title is still a majorly fun and exciting evolution of the franchise. Getting out there in the world and interacting with the Pokémon has never felt better. I'm excited to see where Game Freak goes from here, which is not something I would have necessarily said after prior entries.

Pokémon Legends Arceus should have been the next new step for the franchise but it turned out to be a disappointing experience.

legends arceus is a great game with a very good story and i love the contrast between irida and adamand or how you spell it sorry. but anyway still the characters are great beside from melly i hate him but almost evrything is perfect better than most games in the series

Arguably the best modern era Pokémon game that isn't a remake. Its a shame it still lacks in some areas.

I was really looking forward to playing Pokemon Legends Arceus on my Nintendo Switch. This game is developed by Game Freak and is an action RPG that takes the series in a new direction. The story takes place in the Hisui region, which is an ancient version of Sinnoh. In this world, humans and Pokemon are still learning how to live together peacefully. Unlike traditional Pokemon games, this one does not include the gym system as usual. Instead, it focuses more on exploration and research. As someone who really enjoys Pokemon games, I was very excited to try something new. When I first started playing, I immediately felt that the game was fresh and innovative. It felt like a modern version of Pokémon compared to the older titles. The gameplay and mechanics are one of the strongest parts of the game. Most of the time, you will be exploring large open areas, catching Pokemon, and completing research tasks to fill out your Pokedex. You can interact with Pokemon in real time, which makes the experience feel more immersive and realistic. For example, you can sneak up on Pokemon, dodge their attacks, and throw Poke Balls directly at them. Crafting items like Poke Balls also adds an extra layer of fun to the gameplay. However, some tasks can become repetitive, especially when you need to complete the same actions many times. The controls are generally smooth and responsive, although aiming can sometimes feel a bit difficult. The battles can also be challenging at times, but they are not too hard, and winning feels very rewarding. In terms of graphics and art style, the game has both strengths and weaknesses. The environments are large and open, encouraging players to explore. However, the graphics can sometimes look rough, with low quality textures or objects appearing suddenly in the distance. Despite these issues, the overall art style is still appealing and fits well with the historical setting of the game. The design of the world and the Pokemon helps create a strong sense of immersion. The music and sound design are also well done. The sound effects, such as wind and Pokemon cries, make the world feel alive. The background music is calm and relaxing, which suits the exploration aspect of the game. Although the music is not very memorable, it still fits nicely with the overall atmosphere. There are no voice actors in the game, but this does not take away from the experience. Finally, the game’s performance is not perfect. There can be frame drops and occasional glitches, especially in larger areas. While these technical issues can be frustrating, they do not ruin the overall experience. The game still runs smoothly most of the time and has reasonable loading times. Despite its flaws, Pokemon Legends Arceus is a very fun and engaging game. Its new ideas and unique gameplay make it a refreshing addition to the Pokemon series.

Make better games. Better art direction. Make it up to modern standards. People are going to stop buying the games eventually even if its Pokemon if you keep doing this. The game was fun but it can be soo much better. How can this game exist with this quality in a world where Monster Hunter world and Cyberpunk exists.

Jogo com boas ideias, mas que carece de polimento. Gráficos feios, personagens sem personalidade, história mal conduzida e escrita, jogo sem dublagem e com cenas vergonhosas de mal feitas. Como todo pokemon ele é viciante, mas isso não quer dizer que ele é bem feito.
