This is a very underrated game. The only thing is that it gets boring over time.

Playgrounds 2 is the most overlooked game in the NBA 2K franchise and there is some reasons why it should be overlooked, while there's also reasons why it shouldn't be. The starter packs you get as a new user are very underwhelming. Like WWE 2K Battlegrounds, the game's microtransactions is a big issue and requires a lot of grinding to get good packs and players. In the good side, The gameplay is smooth and has an arcade style to it. It's also easy to pick up and play. If you want a casual basketball game that you can play with friends, get this game.

Microtransaction scam! You start with like...5 players, and theyre all horrible. Have to pay $ to get any players. $20 to unlock the whole roster. Do not buy!

WTF is this!??this game should cost 1$ with its content!!its like a mobile **** cant change any option,you only have nba season and 3point contest and thats it!all players are locked!!you cant even change the time for playing!no dificulty option,no nothing!!its like you buy a locked game!i changed my mind,they should make it free to play..eitherway you have to pay to unlock players..

Awesome fun to play with friends... havn a blast What is wrong with you people who complain about microtrans. 2 things can happen... ● you either use microtrans or ● you **** dont... you morons rate a game low over a **** (optional) extra that you dont even have to do... Do you morons put fuel in the car to drive somewhere??? If you do thats your **** option to... you dont like fuel transactions... **** walk... your choice... Same as here on ghis game....

WARNING: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME AS CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE THAT ARE DESIGNED TO RIP YOU OFF!!! Yes, I am warning everyone to avoid this game because they have taken away the ability to unlock all the characters with one cheap pack, now you are forced to unlock every individual player with a significant amount of virtual currency, and forget the grind of slowly trying to unlock everyone some other way. This game is a total rip off now, it was fine back when they had that unlock pack for every character, but now that it is gone this game is a total scam.

The control scheme is simple. That's great. Collaborative game mode is good. BUT Empty content. The game card is expensive to open. Three-way competition mode is bad. There are micro payments in game. AS A RESULT, NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 is fun with Arcade gameplay mechanics, it is a poor game in terms of content.

Gameplay is top notch. It is improved over the first Playgrounds in noticeable ways while still feeling instantly familiar. The pace is fast, but as the controls become familiar you will start to learn your character's strengths and matches never feel like mayhem. With so many players ranging over so many different combinations of strengths I feel like you could mix up your playstyle to fit whatever mood you're in and never feel boxed in to a single "best" way to play. CPU AI rarely feels unfairly overpowered.. at least not for long. Sure, when you get too far ahead AI opponents will drop threes like crazy, but who wants every match to be a runaway? It doesn't feel like punishment. When the CPU does get on a roll it keeps local matches fun and it doesn't happen enough to stay frustrating for long. If you are finding it overly difficult, or eventually begin finding it easy to win there are four different match difficulties. The AI gets smarter as you ramp up these difficulties without feeling like it is cheating. Also, this game is pretty! So many different character animations. So many beautifully over-the-top moves that are just crazy enough to bring a smile to your face without becoming repetitive or annoying. The court variety is nice, and they are all gorgeous. And, you can build your own court!.. with cosmetic bonuses that you'll need to either grind or pay for.. which brings me to my next point.. Lets talk about paying real money to unlock the full player roster and for cosmetic items. Cosmetic items both for your players, and for parts to build out your own court. Technically you don't NEED to pay to get these things. You can grind for everything, but you will be grinding A LOT. This would be a much bigger issue if the gameplay wasn't great, but it is! I don't count off a lot for this because grinding is playing the game.. and playing this game is fun! That said, I get it. Micro-transactions ****, and if you are coming to this game wanting to play as your favorite legend your options are going to be A.) get really lucky B.) Grind, or C.) Pay real money. The same goes if you want to get heavy into decking out your players in fresh gear. That stinks. I understand. However, if what you want more than anything is simply to be able to play as your favorite legend, there are ways to make that grind easier without paying. Winning an NBA Season with your player's team is guaranteed to unlock a Legend from that team. Even without grinding for dozens of hours or shelling out real money for upgrades, just playing this game is top of the heap arcade basketball fun and after a handful of exhibition games to get your footing and an NBA season or two you will have unlocked enough players to build a team to fit your playstyle and you will have had fun doing it. If you didn't, then this type of arcade basketball game probably just isn't your thing. PROS: Controls are tight and responsive. Smart/fair AI. Courts, players, and animations all explode with color and style. Fun power-ups. Massive roster means massive amount of variety in gameplay strategy. CONS: Grindy. Not enough variety in music selection. The main dashboard menus are pretty bad. Micro-transactions.

Effin' garbage. It is a mediocre game set up behind a super grindy progression system dedicated to micro transactions. I deleted this crap an hour after playing and realizing the main function of this game is... to rip you off! The trailer looked great. I thought it was going to be like NBA Street Vol 2 or even the NBA Jam remaster. Nope! I should have known better when 2K Games put their name on it. Stupid me. They got my $30 bucks. But not another dime. I stopped buying NBA 2K since '16, when the micro transactions began to be utterly ridiculous, which is a shame because way back when they first started on the Sega Dreamcast, they were the **** You are better off with NBA Jam or NBA Live 19 or 18. Dont waster you time.

This might be the worst game i have ever played, could've been a good game but 2k had to milk it like they do to NBA 2K19. I feel Like every game I get into they have all the "Legend" Players probably because they are the only ones that play the game still so they dont feel like they wasted money.

I have had more fun playing this game than any other title this year. People complain about microtransactions but two points about that : 1) **** is incredibly fun who cares 2) I have only about 20 hours invested and already unlocked 12 players without using microtransactions. God forbid if you have to invest time to unlock players. You don't have to pay to unlock players, but you do for swag items....something you don't have to have. A best friend played 2 games with me and bought a copy for himself on the way home. Great game.

The game is a bit ****, we all get that but it is not the end of the world. Do you become a star over night? no. The transactions are there for you to grind out, level up your player(s) stats and beef up all the teams. So many complaints about this game and the transactions DON'T BUY THEM THEN, actually put in the time like you have to do with most games and you will get the most out of it. The gameplay is a much better improvement over the first one and it is a great pick up and play game especially with your friends. Every mode you play earns you baller points and I find myself starting new seasons on the regular to rack up baller points to spend on the big gold packs which I got a legendary in every pack with one pack including two legends. I really enjoy the season mode, fun new take and can be completed in about an hour or so if you fully crush through it. Much improvements over the first game so if you enjoyed that one you will continue to enjoy this series.

It's unacceptable to sell a 25£ "full" game that's actually a microtransactions scam. You start with no decent players and after hours of season gameplay it unlocks only a few crappy players. The game is designed to trick you into buying coins to unlock the players. Absolutely disgusting.
