This is quite possibly the most tedious game I have ever played and I have no idea why it is so highly rated by some people. I am convinced that anyone who likes this needs to get a job or something because this game is basically a tedious labor simulator. I would much rather just go out and power wash stuff around my house because at least then I would actually be getting something accomplished and doing something productive. I can enjoy the concept of some job simulators but this is just ridiculous.

This is just some odd free2play game that is hard to enjoy after getting through the initial introduction phase. I can see how there is probably a crowd for this game but that doesn't seem to be me. I came to check out the open world and driving and it's just really boring, the car physics are very weak, vehicles generally move slow, and there is no real collision with other cars, and characters and cars just sort of appear in front of you out of nowhere. You can't really mess around with the game and if you do you will get the attention of law enforcement that will throw you in a prison where you need to spend days of game time just hanging out in a cell. The combat is probably the highlight here and it's just your basic real time 3'rd person action/RPG sort of experience. The visuals are nice for that anime cartoony graphics but overall I just couldn't stay interested when I have so many better games to play. It's definitely the type of game that seems to demand large time investment to really get anywhere or for you to spend money to get things. Can't recommend this unless you're a big fan of it's style of combat.

Giving this a 5/10 because it feels like a total 5/10 game for what it is. Story, characters, gameplay, all very average feeling for some anime inspired turn based tactics deal. Best thing by far is the battle animations, they can look pretty good, but they also quickly get repetitive as it's all just the same few animations over and over for the different weapon classes. As far as turn based strategy games go this feels like a weaker one, I much prefer the way other games in this genre play. As a mech game it's alright, but lacking the customization that usually makes them fun. It was hard for me to care about the main characters, just your usual anime school girl sort of characters, there's more diversity away from the mains but they usually don't have much of a presence. It sort of feels a bit off to me having these young girls piloting these mechs, it feels like the sort of "fan service" thing that generally doesn't appeal to me. Overall it just feels like the story is the main focus here and like I said it's nothing special, typical for anime with it's themes. The actual strategy feels simple, nothing to really manage on the map, just managing unit distance and abilities. I gave this a go as a curiosity as a fan of mech stuff and I doubt it will be able to hold my interest long enough for a playthrough. If you're really into this exact sub-genre or anime style you will probably enjoy it more though.

Not sure what some people have been smoking to compare this to SSX, which is something I have seen a lot, but this has absolutely nothing in common with SSX. The gameplay is just like your generic mobile phone cash grab, as is the graphics, level design, gameplay, basically the entire thing just feels very shallow and basic and not delivering anything remotely near the promise of an SSX-esque experience.

I find it incredible how they could mess this up as badly as they did. I played Easy Come Easy Golf and that is a vastly superior game in every way possible, a real shame that is locked down to the Switch. This is easily the worst Hot Shots golf game ever made, and the worst Everybody's sports title as well. I find it amazing how overly hard this game can be in the dumbest ways, especially given how arcadey it is, you would think it would be relaxing and easy going but no, this is far more difficult than the realistic simulator golf games I play and those are actually satisfying to setup swings with, this is just all timing and meters and they just made it so miserable. Miserable game.

Seems like a lot of people were lying about how good of a port this is. For a Switch 2 title I have Switch 1 games that look and run better than this. The characters are awful as well, none of the charm or fun that the franchise was known for in the past. The open world also feels largely pointless and lifeless. It also does that thing during missions that the Battlefield 6 campaign does, creating invisible boundaries that really confine you with some countdown timer if you dare to step away from where they want you to be, which seems to totally work against the intended impact of an open world.

This game is about as solid and true of a 5 as any game I have played. Average, middling, mediocre, words I could use to describe this game. It's just a very basic platformer when it comes to it's gameplay and how it feels. Unlike Mario games there is no gymnastics or anything interesting to your jumping, so the platforming is simplistic and gets boring fast. It also lacks the rhythm you would find in something like a Crash Bandicoot game or the gliding and exploration you would find in something like Spyro. Levels are very linear for the most part, only with the occasional secret areas here and there for a collectable reward. So levels just wind up feeling kind of tedious and joyless, an issue made worse by the generally slow pace of this game. I think where this would really stand out is for young gamers and local coop play, where an adult playing solo might get really bored I am sure some kids playing the game together would have a lot more fun and the level design seems focused on that. So while this is not a bad game it's nothing special either. It's just a bland, basic, simple feeling platformer.

This definitely wasn't what I thought it would be. Looked like a fun car game, sort of an Outrun style game maybe with more of a roguelike approach to progress, but instead what this is turned out to be some highly narrative driven almost storybook game. The driving is broken up into what feels like almost minigames, just a simple outrun the timer or an opponent sort of thing, most of the time you are just managing a simple map and making "do this or that" decisions. Then there's the radio which is basically a source of more narrative dialogue you are supposed to listen to. It's like this game just wants to bombard you with it's story with the actual gameplay taking a backseat. What's even worse is being how this is so narrative and dialogue driven, the writing is just awful in my opinion and highly political, like it's basically just bombarding you with politics, and not even fake video game politics it's all very focused on political ideology today. Reality is this simply isn't what I come to play video games for. If I want to hear people's political banter I will tune into the news or browse social media or something. I play video games as an escape from that and that is what I wanted here, just a nice little game where I could drive a muscle car in a point to point go anywhere fashion. Yet what I got is something that just constantly tries to pull me back into the real world not allowing me to get immersed in a game world. IMO this is just bad game design and it makes me wonder why they couldn't just make it focused on driving.

Any time anything happens you get dogpiled by everyone in the room only for the guards to get you in a hold far too easily which gets you sent to court which is a total RNG situation that gives you penalties. You lose stats far too easily and they are far too hard to get. To top it off there is this obnoxious insanity mechanic where your character will just lose control and start fighting everyone, which will result in the dogpile, getting taken to court, and penalties. It's really hard to have any fun playing this game and there is no access to editor for some reason. Just a highly restricted and frustrating experience.

As a big fan of Wrestling Empire this one is sadly hard to recommend. It's basically more of a chore to play than anything else. They give you this deep wresting character builder only to punish you any time you do any fighting. The emphasis is on running from class to class all the time where you just sit down, hold an object and hold taunt to use it once in a while, or answer a question once in a blue moon. Then there's all these odd grading penalties for not doing something that was vaguely requested, having to deal with NPC's constantly taking you away from what you're doing to address something they're telling you, and having to deal with your energy constantly draining and needing to sleep off your fatigue, then rinse and repeat. It's a very grindy and time consuming game where nothing really satisfying happens and progression always seems to be obstructed by some random event. I can always go back to Wrestling Empire and have some run, but with this, I wonder what the appeal is supposed to be.

This game requires mandatory data collection for online multiplayer. It asks you to agree to two different police agreements when you start it up and it also wants you to create or log into an Epic account on top of all this. Then the game it's self is nothing special. The handling is very simple and on-rails to the point where the brake feels completely unnecessary, the AI is very easy and lacks difficulty options, the music is very bland, generic and boring, the car selection is very limited, and despite featuring a character to play as you can't change or customize them. It honestly feels like a mobile phone game and a very average one at that, I have played better racing games on my phone. Highly overrated.

This is quite possibly the worst racing game I have ever played before, and I am a big racing game fan that has played most of what there is to offer. I got this simply because I haven't played a dedicated NASCAR game in a long time, and well, this is the only one right now on the market. Starting it up, I am amazed by how bad it is. Truly barebones career mode, nothing to it really. Graphics are awful, and despite that the frame rate is also awful. The controls are awful, no dualsense support, no ability to customize the buttons either, the default setup (which is awful) is all you get. No customization for graphics, only a brightness adjust, no real gameplay adjustments you can make either, only some basic assists settings. I have no idea how something this awful can get released with such a big license, but wow, NASCAR really needs to get a new developer to make games for them because whoever made this did the worst, most low effort racing game I have played this gen. Not even kidding when I say I have played far better indie racing games on my Nintendo Switch, that's how bad this is. Heck I can't even think of anything I have bought on Steam that is worse than this, even the worst indie devs seem to be more capable than whoever made this. Truly awful stuff, just the worst game I have bought this gen. I'll just go back to older games for a NASCAR fix because no joke I have some last-gen offerings that look better than this and play a lot better as well.

This game is alright, I guess my biggest complaint is how unnecessary it feels unless you're a mega-fan of this game or something. If you have played Cybernator, as it's known in the west, you would probably struggle to notice any differences between this and that version of the game, unless of course you're a big fan of it, and have played through it enough to notice. Overall I'd say this is easy to pass on if you have a means to play the original western release, the historical information is nice but you can find most of that on the internet. The thing that makes me most critical of this release is how it really didn't do anything to improve upon the controls, the game literally plays about the same as it did originally on SNES. This is really just a fan service treatment.

This is a review for the 2022 version of the game. I have both the 20 and 22 versions, and the 2020 version was fantastic for what it is on the Switch. The 2022 version however, is a ruined game. For some odd reason they decided to remove the touch screen controls in the 2022 version, forcing you to use the analog stick, and that makes the game nowhere near as fun to play. Honestly, this just isn't a good game if you're controlling it with an analog stick, it feels awkward at best, unplayable at worst. This might be a decent game if you're playing it on a PC where you can use a mouse, but seeing as how the Switch isn't a PC and doesn't have a mouse, that doesn't do me any good. The touch screen controls felt perfect in the original 2020 version, and without it, I found myself only playing this new 2022 version for a short while until I deleted it and went back to the 2020 version. Sadly, I don't think that version is for sale anymore, hence the low score here, as the game you would be buying today is terrible.

While Sniper Elite is this deep game with numerous modes, lots of levels, great AI, and great shooting mechanics, this manages to have basically none of that. There is only 4 levels by default, 6 when you include the "expansion" (basically a free update because the developer knew the game was too short on content), and 7 if you include the pointless tutorial level. That is just nowhere near enough, especially given the lack of much diversity to the environments, and how linear they can feel.
