For Potter fans of all ages, Chamber of Secrets is a must-have.

There is a glaring misbalance in the game progression, and additionally, the load times are almost grotesquely long, a fact that can lead to some unnecessary frustration.

Another strange weakness is the storytelling, which glosses over key events and explains itself so poorly that if you don't know the story already, you might not figure it out. [Jan 2003, p.36]

I don’t know who in the right mind would give this game less than 10. it was AMAZING 2002. Yeah, it had so many bugs. So like most games back then, it was a part of experience

I have some nostalgia for this, as a kid I thought it was a great game. Flying around hogwarts on the broomstick was awesome. As an adult though this game is so rough to play lol the controls are abysmal. I know it's a ps2 game but there are some ps2 and even ps1 games that I can still play and enjoy and this isn't one of them. Jeremy Soule's music is phenomenal in this game though.

I have no idea if this game is good, I meant to review the movie. So if this isn't an accurate reflection I'm not sorry

EA did a great job on this game capturing all of the looks and voices of the characters from the film and books, and a superb job capturing the environments that look almost identical, even if a tad scaled down, to the film.

It's incredible how accurately this game captures the look of the movies and the spirit of the books. [Dec 2002, p.204]

The biggest deal is the opportunity to actually explore Hogwarts. [Jan 2003, p.124]

It's boring. [Jan 2003, p.94]

It plays like a cobbled together collection of repetitive, below-par sub-games. Quite simply, it’s extremely boring, and the sensation of fun never once makes its presence felt.

Compared to the "Philosophers's Stone" for PS2, this one has definitely improved gameplay. Harry Potter fans will most probably enjoy it but both "Philosopher's Stone" and "Chamber of Sercrets" have a mess of a story line. Developers shortened it and skipped the parts that makes this game very difficult to follow if you haven't read the books.

A big request to the developers (if they still remain) to make a Russian translation of the game (text and voice-over)! I really like the game, but it's very uncomfortable to play without Russian translation.

What do you get when you combine fighting-against-the-controls style difficulty with easy-to-cheat-by-spamming-X style gameplay? One of the most pathetic, awfully designed Potter games there are. Just wretched.
SummaryPlayers enter fantastical free-roaming 3D environments from Harry's world. Players become Harry Potter and delve not only into Harry's world, but also into his personality, via an internal "voice."
