This game **** , the first 3 god of wars were amazing , this feels more like a movie than a game , the dialogue is cheesy , the over the shoulder camera is ugly , the gameplay is clunky and repetitive and boring , the stupid trope of running and having full conversations gets old quickly , cratos being a dad is just stupid and not in his character, the game feels shallow and feels like it caters to the generic gamer that doesn't actually know what makes a game good , this is just putting people in front **** screen , it feels very soulless compared to the past games . Lokis parts are pretty boring and hard to get through , over all .. it just feels like another generic game and not God of war . They need to go back to the first 3 games and take some notes on tone , gameplay and just overall pacing . Graphics are pretty but that's pretty standard these days so not that impressive .. yeah feels like a god of war game that was made by people who don't really understand God of war . Don't trust Anyone who says this game is a 10/10 .

Atrocious pacing made this an absolute chore to play from start to finish. Pretty graphics but alot of bland environments. Braindead puzzles, so easy they feel pointless. Unless you're passionate about Nordic mythology, you'll probably find the story boring too. I do, however, recommend the DLC if you're a fan of roguelikes.

Overly simple puzzles that give you the solution if you pause for more than 2 seconds. Never ending cutscenes. Crap combat and a meh story. Didn’t like this one at all

A really good game, good story, it made me feel things, graphics are excellent, acting, motion, all excellent. No microtransactions. The puzzles were not my cup of tea but okay. Some enemies are really unnecessarily hard to beat. I lowered the difficulty, finished the game and then STILL could not beat an enemy from a random side quest... I'm not the best but I've been playnig games for decades, including Ghost of Thushima, Witcher 3, etc. So I'm not sure what's up with these enemies. But the game itself is really good, the father-son story is touching, I love it and I can recommend it.

God of War: Ragnarök is just on another level. The combat is sharper, the world is bigger, and the story hits with this perfect mix of chaos, heart, and “oh damn” moments. Kratos and Atreus feel more human than ever, and every realm is packed with stuff worth exploring. It’s gorgeous, emotional, and constantly throwing something memorable at you. Easily one of the best action games out there — absolute 10/10.

This game has it all. Story, gameplay, progression, characters, pacing, atmosphere. All perfectly executed. I didn't think I could like this more than the 2018 prequel but they really improved on everything. A perfect sequel to an already perfect game.

Amazing gameplay and beautiful graphics in both sweeping imagery and close quarter combat. Just too many cut scenes for me personally in this story. GoW 2018 felt significantly tighter in terms of its plot and keeping the moments of literally doing nothing to a minimum. Still a really fun 75+ hours of game nevertheless!

God of War: Ragnarok is a great game. This is simple to play and get a great story with extras for the players who want more of a challenge. As someone getting up in the years, this is one of those journeys that make you realize maybe live service multiplier isn't the only choice on the market.

ı dont agree with the comments like ''this game is same as the 2018 gow'' they kept the awesome formula and add new elements to feel fresh. combat is more entertaining than the first game. personally i liked playing with atreus and i like the atreus's story parts. i think story of the 2018 god of war little bit better in ragnarok: end of the game was too fast ı didnt get what is going on beatiful game to enjoy

God of War Ragnarök is a technically impressive game, but as the conclusion to the Norse storyline, it’s a major disappointment. What makes it worse is that the problems didn’t start here — the 2018 game also struggled with Norse mythology, but at least it had better pacing and a clearer focus. Ragnarök takes those same issues and exposes them even more. The biggest problem is that neither game really commits to the Norse mythos. The world feels strangely empty for a mythology that should be full of creatures, spirits, strange beings, and folklore. Both entries lack enough characters, enough monsters, and enough locations to make the world feel alive. The 2018 game got away with it because it was smaller and more intimate. Ragnarök doesn’t have that excuse. It’s supposed to be the big expansion, the payoff, the moment everything opens up — but it never does. Instead, Ragnarök feels smaller. The new areas are short, linear, or forgettable. Many of them feel like one‑time set pieces rather than real places you want to explore. The game skips huge parts of Norse mythology entirely. There’s no sense of a larger world, no deeper folklore, no real variety in creatures or environments. Skyrim — a game from 2011 — still does a better job capturing the feel of Norse‑inspired fantasy than this. The story suffers from the same lack of depth. The pacing is messy, and the tone jumps around constantly. The 2018 game at least had a consistent emotional rhythm, even if it didn’t fully explore the mythology. Ragnarök tries to juggle too many tones at once, and the result is a story that feels rushed and uneven. Characters who should feel important barely get any development, and major plot points are resolved too quickly to have any real impact. Kratos’ arc is a good idea, but it doesn’t feel earned because the story moves too fast. The game tries to wrap up the entire Norse saga in one go, even though the world clearly needed a third game to breathe. Ending the arc after only two entries makes the whole thing feel unfinished. It’s hard not to feel like the studio simply didn’t want to deal with the complexity of the mythology anymore. And here’s where the disappointment hits harder on a personal level. As someone from Wales, I’m part of a culture that sits right next to the Norse world — a culture shaped by Celtic, Brythonic, and Northern European traditions. I actually care about this mythology. I grew up around the landscapes, stories, and cultural echoes that tie into it. So when a game claims to explore Norse myth and then barely scratches the surface, it doesn’t just feel like a creative misstep — it feels like a missed opportunity to represent something that matters to me. The Greek era got years of development, dozens of characters, huge locations, and a full trilogy. The Norse era got two games, fewer characters, fewer monsters, fewer locations, and a rushed ending. It’s hard not to feel robbed when the mythology closest to my own heritage gets the shallowest treatment. Visually, the game is inconsistent. Some areas look great, but others look barely improved from the 2018 game. The worldbuilding also takes a hit. The first game felt mysterious and atmospheric, even if it was limited. Ragnarök feels like a checklist of locations you rush through once and never revisit. The sense of scale and discovery is gone. The lack of monsters and enemy variety is another major issue. Both games reuse the same handful of enemy types over and over. For a mythology full of strange creatures, spirits, and beasts, the series barely scratches the surface. It’s disappointing to see such a rich mythos reduced to a small roster of repeated enemies. Overall, God of War Ragnarök is fun in short bursts, but as the conclusion to the Norse storyline, it’s a letdown. Both games mishandled the mythology, but Ragnarök exposes the problem more clearly because it tries to finish a story that never had enough characters, locations, or creatures to feel complete. It’s not a bad game, but it’s far from the sequel the 2018 reboot set up — and it leaves the Norse world feeling unfinished, underdeveloped, and, for anyone who actually identifies with that cultural space, genuinely disappointing.
