Well, the story for this game is absolutely immaculate. It is so ridiculously captivating. Gameplay is really fun as well. Overall, I’d say it’s around a 97, but I will round up to 100

I loved the original GoW 1-3 and the PSP games. However, this Game does not feature Kratos, the God of War. It shows a modern, socio political interpretation of the character - that has to struggle with the outcomes of toxic masculinity. Uncreative contemporary main stream writing from the far left. For their heavy political messaging, devs sacrified gameplay, because it is boring as ****, too.

I'm just gonna be very honest here fhe game looks absolutely amazing, but much of it plays like absolute dog ****, oh your doodging 2 out of 3 attacks? Well then eat the last hit of the boss. Your attacking? Well then wait 5 seconds after the attack before you can parry, I'm playing on give me god of war and the whole parry system is beyond broken, on gmgow difficulty you can expect a soulslike game but without the healing, and without a fast snippy combat system. And once you eat one hit because you can't parry you can't just parry or block the rest in the chain so eat all hits. On top of that you have fights with 20 enemies all attacking you from a entirely different side, and god knows when the attack happens because you can't 100% read it by the red, and if you dodge too early then the ai just hits you as if your a magnet, I really wonder how people are rating this game so high and this is why asian games are taking over they know that in a battle your input chain should just be cancelled by blocks or evades, instead of not being able to do that because Kratos first wants to finish his combo. You see the attacks coming from a mile away, but a enemy decides to attack you after you pressed a attack button and you can't parry anymore. This bs has to stop, there's so many games that are responsive yet the game company that has been making games for ages and has it's own consoles can't even have this.

God of War Ragnarök features a very well-written story and serves as a worthy continuation of the previous game. Exploring the world and completing missions was always enjoyable, and the game constantly rewarded curiosity and exploration. Both Kratos and Atreus have matured significantly since the events of the previous adventure, and watching their relationship develop was one of the highlights of the story. The combat system felt familiar and did not change dramatically, but it remained satisfying throughout the game.Among the many memorable moments, the battle against Thor stood out as truly epic. Combined with the game's cinematic presentation and beautiful graphics, it created an unforgettable experience. Overall, Ragnarök delivers a strong story, impressive visuals, and the grand scale expected from the series.

Higher highs than 2018 but lower lows that 2018. The game starts with it's foot on the gas pedal and seems like it won't stop until it slams the brakes so many times which really makes it hard to replay.

The story is not suitable for teenagers, so it’s perfect! For me it was the game of the year.

This is a good game but It doesnt bring something new after God of War 2018. Gameplay, graphics and story is good as always but I got bored after a while.

I was beyond hyped for it as a massive GoW fan but after playing it I have several problems with the game.First issue is that Kratos completely takes a backseat in his own story. The 2018 game was deeply personal and centered entirely on his growth as a father and his struggle with his past. Ragnarök constantly shifts focus to Atreus and other **** tone is another major problem. The 2018 game felt dark, mysterious, and mythological. Ragnarök often feels overly lighthearted, the writing is just not all there. Characters overexplain the feelings and motivations instead of showing them. Most of the characters are uninteresting and down right **** story feels directionless. After years of buildup toward Ragnarök itself, the game spends huge amounts of time on side plots and lengthy sections like Ironwood, while the actual Ragnarök battle feels surprisingly short and rushed. The apocalypse that the entire saga was building toward ends up feeling like an **** boss fights were good, but nowhere near as spectacular as I expected considering the game had the biggest, baddest Norse gods to work with. For a series known for epic scale, many encounters felt oddly restrained. This was the part where they could have upped the stakes from the previous game, instead they dropped the ball ****'s well known that the game was supposed to be a trilogy and they squished the story into two parts. Important character arcs and major events happen so quickly that they never get the time they need to fully develop. Cory Balrog did not direct this game and you can clearly tell **** yes, after spending two games hyping up Mjölnir, not letting Kratos wield it because it would be too predictable is just a pure copout. What hurts most is that the 2018 game did such an incredible job building mystery, tension, and anticipation. Ragnarok destroyed the mystery of the world and **** any immersion for me.When the credits rolled my soul was crushed. After all the buildup, all the theories, all the anticipation, I just sat there thinking : "that's it?"As a lifelong God of War fan, it was the most disappointing gaming experiences I've ever had.Upvote0Downvote7Go to commentsShare

What can I say? An incredible game with a divine story, breathtaking gameplay, beautifully written characters even more developed than in the 2018 title, and graphics that are a masterpiece as well. One of the best games I’ve ever played — I wish sagas like this would never end.

Absolute masterpiece. An epic, emotional story fit for the movies. Lovingly crafted Open world with all the side content goodies you'd want to extend this beautiful game. Visually it is one of the best looking games with world class sound design and music that fits every scene perfectly. Combat is fantastic as usual and Atreus sections, maybe not quite as fun as Kratos, is a nice change of pace to the brute force style we love. Plenty of challenge if you want it and if you thought the Valkyries were hard from the first game buckle up. Absolutely my GOTY from 2022. God of War: Ragnarök shows you what true AAA and next-gen gaming is.

After how good the first one was, I had huge expectations for Ragnarök. Visually, it’s even more stunning—the action scenes are executed unbelievably well, and the scale of everything is just massive. I enjoyed it enough to go for the Platinum, but I have to be honest: it didn't quite hit the same heights as the 2018 game for me.The gameplay is still great, but it felt like "more of the same." It didn't stand out or feel as fresh as that first experience. That said, the optional boss fights are where the real challenge is. Taking on the new "Valkyrie" equivalent and King Hrólf at the end was intense—easily some of the hardest and most rewarding combat I’ve dealt with in a long time.As for the story, it was okay, but it left a lot to be desired. After the emotional journey of the first game, this narrative didn't really elevate things the way I hoped it would. It’s a fantastic sequel with tight mechanics, but it lacks that "lightning in a bottle" feeling that made the previous game a masterpiece.

Merci Santa Monica Studio.

The game is an easy 10 if you like the slower paced action games. There is a lot to explore and it is your standard puzzly God of War fare. The story is mid but that is because I am not a fan of this arc. The game performs flawlessly and you get unique weapons that play differently and are fun to use. A 10/10 for me but def not for everyone

my first GoW game and this game is a masterpiece the combat system is very good but i don't like the rpg style, even the missions where you play as Atreus are sick and i think that the gameplay when you play as Atreus is even better then when you're playing as kratos

It’s very much the 2nd instalment in this series from continued storytelling to more evolved gameplay. However its essentially the same experience from the first game. Which was a huge success and a greta game. Now there is just more.

Very overrated/mediocre cinematic slop game from Sony with endless cutscenes and far too much focus on story. The game looks quite nice and the combat is not bad, but you'll be forced to walk one mile an hour and listen to annoying NPCs rant about nonsense for half the game, not to mention the handholding during puzzle segments for all the low IQ dunces. Then there's the fact that this game is loaded with subversive propaganda (which should be surprising to no one) and features a very obviously forced DEI character that has to accompany Atreus for a large section of the game. This is the type of game that came from the success of The Last of Us, made for the normie tourists who decided video games were cool after 2013 and killed gaming for gamers.

Combate mejorado y variado.
Personajes bien desarrollados.
Gran diseño de mundos.
Excelente cierre de la saga nórdica.
Punto débil:
Ritmo lento en algunas secciones

After more than 80 hours on PS5 to earn the platinum, God of War Ragnarök delivers a solid continuation of the story. The narrative has some good twists and the relationship between characters evolves in interesting ways. The sections with Atreus and the different art direction in his world are refreshing and break the rhythm nicely. Combat is still satisfying, but it feels very similar to the 2018 game, using the same engine and systems. The staging is also less spectacular and the bosses are good but not as memorable. Still, it remains a strong and enjoyable sequel

Game is absolutely excellent – an adventurous, challenging, and puzzle-driven experience with a great story and well-developed characters. The combat and weapons are also very good, and the game never feels boring.
The only small downside is that you need to have played God of War (2018) to fully understand and appreciate the characters. But both games are easily a 10/10 – highly recommended.

One of the best character development sequences in gaming history, and the most dialogue-rich story - I literally have a huge ass document on my phone with all the "lessons" that I learnt through Kratos, Sindri, and of course Mimir the Wise.

Great story, a bit on the short side - making it 20 hours long wouldn’t have hurt. The story, music, and gameplay are all way better than in part 4.

It's okay. I was having fun playing it, but sometimes I wanted to rush some sections. I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of skills, moves etc. Overall, it's just GoW 2018 with more mechanics and story continuation.
