If you're looking for a short, relaxing experience full of charm with puzzles just tricky enough that you'll need to think, but not too hard, Gecko Gods is the perfect Sunday afternoon game to chill out with.

Gecko Gods delivers a serene and visually enchanting exploration experience, capturing the tactile joy of movement as a gecko. Its mystical atmosphere and superb art style foster a constant sense of discovery, yet persistent technical performance issues and an erratic, frustrating camera frequently mar this otherwise charming and meditative puzzle-platforming adventure.

While playing Gecko Gods, there is a constant desire to praise the game for its cozy atmosphere, gameplay design, and puzzles that seamlessly come together into a unified structure. It evokes incredibly pleasant memories, shaping the overall impression into a positive one. However, segments where the game can block progress and trap the player inside one of its main puzzles kill the desire to praise it too highly.

Gecko Gods doesn’t provide much challenge, with repetitive puzzles and trivialized platforming thanks to its generous movement mechanics. That won’t be a problem, however, if you’re just looking for a cute, relaxed experience. Chances are, if you were drawn to this game because of the cute gecko you can play as, the title has everything you’d want, if not much more.

I'm sad that Gecko Gods didn't ultimately resonate much with me. It's a game with clear indie charm and care poured into it, but also one that never clicks in terms of puzzles, platforming, or exploration. The presentation is nice, but it's also held back by many technical hiccups, both cosmetic and core progression-based alike. The devs do seem eager to keep improving this one, but it unfortunately wasn't quite ready for release.

Relaxing experience, a nice but not Great game in my humble opinion. Looks like a Nintendo switch 1 game.

I had higher expectations. Protagonist is not charming, visuals looked unfinished, clunky controls, full of bugs/glitches, boring soundtrack and uninteresting level design and puzzles. For me, the last straw was having to solve a sliding puzzle that I hate and still dealing with bad controls at the same time. Mediocre at the best.
