Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition

Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 has not only avoided the serious problems that plagued the game on other platforms, but it is now positioned as the most interesting option for playing the title (whether again or for the first time), and I am sure that many viewers of the television series and Nintendo users will find it well worth the price.

Overall, this release is for those who can never get enough of the scale of Bethesda Game Studios games, have never played Fallout 4, love portability, or are weird Bethesda bug loving masochists, who like to see the ridiculous things that can happen when you put Bethesda’s Creation Engine to the test. After this port’s decent launch state, it will be interesting to see how future Bethesda games fare, such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, but only time will tell.

Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition does not revolutionize the formula but that's not necessary to deliver a fun and captivating experience in this Nintendo Switch 2 version. While the building mechanic is still inconsistent and the main plot is not the finest, Fallout 4's open world brings a myriad experiences that will grab players' attention in its very own unique way, the game's combat is still very solid, and the post-apocalyptic atmosphere is marvelous and has not changed one bit.

Let’s get one thing clear. Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition on Switch 2 isn’t trying to remake Bethesda’s RPG. Instead, it demonstrates how well the core design has aged. The Commonwealth remains a compelling world to explore. Its systems still encourage experimentation, and the environmental storytelling continues to reward players willing to wander off the main path. And most importantly, the Switch 2 version proves that large-scale open-world RPGs can work remarkably well in a portable format. And that is why you clicked this review. Ten years ago, Fallout 4 sparked debate about what the series should be, and a decade later, it feels easier to appreciate it for what it actually is: a messy, fascinating sandbox full of stories waiting to be discovered. And apparently, it fits perfectly in handheld mode. So, without further ado, I’m back to helping some settlements in need. Now I only need to find out how to turn my Switch 2 into a Pip-Boy.

Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2 is not the best version of Fallout 4, but it plays well enough to warrant a recommendation for Switch owners who don’t own a PC or any other console that has seen a Bethesda release in the past decade. It’s a surprisingly good port that’s giving me hope for future RPGs to make their way to the Switch 2.

Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition delivers a mostly compromise-free experience on Nintendo Switch 2, while the lack of gyro and mouse controls is disappointing, the game itself is worthy of new players jumping into.

The absence of new features, new mechanics related to Switch 2 or even fixes for bugs that have been known for 10 years would be grounds for automatic rejection. The abundance of content alone would not justify either the edition or the price. On Switch 2, however, the operation find his meaning in the debut of the saga on the machine and in the curiosity about the technical performance, which is certainly satisfactory, though not exciting.

A great port **** game. There is some performance issues, fuzziness, and bugs, but overall it runs great and brings Fallout 4 to handheld.

Fallout 4 to me is the best Fallout in its series. Many will not agree with me , but i truely think with these graphics and the whole story, it is the best

I know the jank, I accept the jank, I even love the jank. It’s part of the charm. Fallout 4, at its core, is a great game. The world, the atmosphere, the gunplay, the exploration — it all scratches that Bethesda itch in a way nobody else quite manages. But Bethesda… you broke this game. Again. The Anniversary Edition “updates” feel less like improvements and more like targeted strikes against some of the best mods the community has ever made. Mods that literally kept this game alive. Mods that fixed things you never bothered to fix. Mods that made Fallout 4 the game it should have been. And for what? More Creation Club fluff? Another round of “content” nobody asked for?Listen, Todd. We’ve all played through the main story. We’ve all built the settlements. We’ve all watched Preston Garvey assign us another radiant quest like he’s reading from a hostage script. We’re not here for the updates. We’re here for the mods — the thing that keeps your games relevant long after launch. So please. Stop breaking your own games with pointless cash‑grab updates. Let the community do what it does best: fix, enhance, overhaul, and breathe life into the worlds we love. Fallout 4 is still a great game. It just deserves better than being collateral damage in Bethesda’s never‑ending quest to sell us another reskinned pipe gun.
