Endling may look nice, but it is a monotonous animal adventure with simple fox-feeding gameplay, bland skills, and restrictive exploration.

I hereby announce that Endling as the animal game of the year. I'm sorry Stray.

A charming survival game carrying an ecological message. It can narrate without words and it clearly shows the dangers of living day to day in a hostile nature. But the most important thing? There are foxes!

Very sad game, and worth playing .......................................................

I really enjoyed the *idea* of subverting the post-apocalyptic wasteland game trope by giving the player the perspective of a fox, but the problem is the game struggles to iterate on it's own premise. It has a gorgeous little open world, great art style, interesting 2.5D movement mechanic, and the bones of some systemic gameplay. However, the core gameplay loop is based on finding food (super easy, if you get hungry enough food will conveniently appear) and chasing the red scents of your lost pup, which is painfully simple and low stakes to do, and which has very little consequence for failing.
There's potential in the idea, but the idea needs more variety in mission design. Also it's easy to get jaded about taking care of your pups once you realize the only threat seems to be the owl which the game heavily telegraphs.

Simple game and not for this a bad game but it's too distressing. If it was less distressing I'd probably would rate this game with a higher note and I'd also finish the game because it's not very long. Also, it says to use the skills of your puppies but it doesn't say how to acquire them. I tried it for one hour.

Endling: Extinction Is Forever is a visually beautiful game with a heart-touching journey and a unique perspective. The simple controls allow you to take in the world and manage the stress of the situations without it being overly complex. The developers have done a beautiful job creating situations that make you feel attached to your fox and her babies and generate stress as the world around them changes. This is a lovely addition to any gaming library and had me gripped for hours. If you want a fresh survival experience, look no further.

Games should not only be about graphics and gameplay. If I were to score Endling only on those 2 factors, I would give it an 8, however, the story is just amazing and the gameplay is very entertaining. What brings Endling to another level is the love that the developers put in the game, and how it makes the player think about the harm we humans are doing to nature. The story literally made me cry and touched my heart in levels probably no other game has done. For me, this is one amazing game, if you can buy it, do so, and support a crew that wants to bring awareness about the harm that humans are doing to nature.

The visuals are stunning, and the soundtrack excels at aiding in conveying the gravity of the bad, as well as the moments of light and joy included in the game. Overall, if you enjoy games with deeper meaning hidden beneath the surface, you’ll love Endling. If you enjoy games that make you cry, you’ll certainly find that with Endling. Bugs and minor issues aside, Endling is one of the more moving games I’ve played this year, and I highly recommend it. Just be sure to have some tissues on hand, just in case.

Endling doesn’t leave us with a positive feeling, but weakness. The story is depressing and at the same time full of hope. If you like short indie games with a serious ark and beautiful animations, Endling is for you.

Endling: Extinction is Forever is a tech-savvy game built around well-built gameplay. The repetitive process of hunting for survival and exploring whenever possible seems intentional and draws the player into this world. There are no ordinary moments in this wild nature, and any moments of routine or boredom quickly end with a bear trap or an encounter with a Scavenger. Endling knows what he wants to achieve and doesn't try to overdo it or over complicate it. Every choice matters to the designers, as well as to you when you're trying to survive and feed your puppies.

Endling: Extinction is forever has many improvable aspects, from its level design to its core gameplay loop. And yet, its repetitive structure is exactly what it’s needed to fully make you feel like you are the fox with her little cubs, to experience how hard it is to keep on living in a world that is trying in every way to get rid of you. A touching, sincere and heartfelt experience which can be told only through video games.

Endling: Extinction is Forever hides a monotonous experience behind a striking visual aesthetic and an empty message about the relationship between humanity and the environment. The gameplay never fully commits to building the relationship between the mother and her cubs, which leaves the whole story feeling emotionless and bare. The end result is more “call of the mild” than Call of the Wild.

Very good story, amazing music, simple gameplay, and a very important message to the world at the end of the game... I want to say that these were my hours of this game in which I got so involved.

An amazing work of art. This game has touched my heart. Sincere, wise, kind and wise game. Many thanks to the developers. They are geniuses.

Game length 4 hours Endling is a game about a fox searching for one of her lost cubs. It's set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans struggle to survive, trying to find something edible in everything. The story is captivating but aso too heavy . I feel that the post apocalytic world the devs managed to build deserves it's own game by itself. The story about the fox and he cubs could have been set in todays society and it wouldn't have changed the game a bit. It would probably have made it better and less confusing.

Endling: Extinction Is Forever is a pure survival game where the main protagonist is not a man but o fox, apparently the last specimen, and her cubs struggling to survive in a post-apocalyptic world following an unknown large-scale cataclysm. The gamestory is the best part of the entire game which deserves all the possible praise. The gameplay and level design are way behind the story's quality. Also I think the game graphics could have made use of Unreal Engine 4 in a much better way. Overall, my score for each game section is: Gameplay: 3.3 / 5; Story: 4.2 / 5; Characters: 3.3 / 5; Video: 2 / 5; Audio: 2.5 / 5; UI: 2.5 / 5
