6- Good. Was a super fun game, I dropped it when they patched out the option to time travel. I disagree with Nintendos approach of making players engage with a game their “intended way”. ACNH wasn’t competitive in any way so why were they bothered by people time traveling? I’m just not the type of gamer to play something a little every day, checking in on my island as if it were a phone app. I hope whatever’s next for Animal Crossing doesn’t restrict player choice like ACNH did.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a relaxing and charming life simulation filled with creativity, personality, and endless customization. Building your island, meeting quirky villagers, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere make it incredibly addictive. Its slower pace may not suit everyone, but it remains a wonderful escape.

The worst animal crossing, not even good graphics can make up for the terrible music and dialogue. Just go play new leaf

De toute la licence, c'est bien celui-ci qui offre le plus de personnalisation possible dans ton île (et ailleurs !). Le jeu est dans la ligné des précédents, très cool et cosy. Le DLC, Happy Home paradise, donne au jeu tellement de contenu en plus. Pas mon favori de la licence cela dit, mais très bon.

Can’t say it’s a bad game at all. It is a great game, knowing New Leaf is my favorite game of all time. New Horizons was m-my first game in the **** I have a little soft spot for it, I suppose.

Absolutely one of the best life sim games ever to exist. The graphics are great but the characters are hands down the best part

The main gripe is that the game simply doesn't respect your time. Every single action will take way more time that it should - slow animation for something that barely needs it, loading screen over immediately access something, slow text typing, etc. It's just as if it was made to be as inconvenient as possible to spend as much of your time as possible. You get less **** and convenience for the same price or more. It can still be fun, it surely can. But feels like a missed opportunity to be way better

A really lovely, peaceful, beautiful, interactive game that I would recommend to anyone who has, or is planning to have a Nintendo switch or Nintendo switch 2.

Starts off strong then goes downhill from there. Over time, you realize villagers all say the same lines according to which personality type they fall into. Of which there are only 4, I believe. At first, the game gives you objectives but once they are done, credits roll in and you're left to rot on your island. I guess the point was to keep decorating my island forever and ever but who does that? I personally know one person who did and she's autistic. Make of that what you will... there is just nothing to work towards for, the one and only goal is just to keep decorating forever. That's literally all there is to it. This game starts off so strong then goes in nothing-land so fast. All the previous Animal Crossing games were better, especially New Leaf.

Absolute nonsense. I bought this game expecting a fun, creative experience, especially so my daughter could build and manage her own little town. Instead, we were hit with Nintendo's ridiculous "one island per console" **** doesn't matter if you have separate profiles or completely different Nintendo accounts on your device. Whoever launches the game first gets to be the "Island Representative" and has full control over the story, building placement, and town progression. Anyone else who logs in afterward is reduced to a second-class citizen on that exact same island. They can fish, catch bugs, and decorate their own house, but they have zero power to actually play the core game or develop the town.This isn't a hardware limitation; it's a purely artificial, greedy design choice meant to force families to buy a separate console for every single person in the house. If you are planning to share this game on a single device, don't bother. It completely ruins the magic for anyone who isn't Player 1. Complete waste of money.

It has a good overall presentation and gameplay, but the depth and detail of the content are terrible.

There was a certain level of hype surrounding this game, the switch and how a community was formed during COVID lockdowns. I joined the party two years too late. This game is easygoing, eventually, I got bored

LO ADORO. Non ho giocato molto alla saga di Animal Crossing ma questo gioco l'ho divorato, è bellissimo, non potrei compararlo ad altri giochi storici della serie perchè non gli ho giocati. Per il resto, il museo è una genialità, mi sono fatto in 4 per trovare pesci ed insetti da trovare per completare il museo cosa che adoro. Ripagare i debiti di Nook è una cosa fantastica e decorare la propria casa è stra rilassante. Per di più mi sono divertito un sacco nell'esplorare le isole degli utenti. L'unica pecca del gioco è che magari agli inizi può risultare noioso oppure non si sa cosa fare ma se avete pazienza arriverete al cuore del gioco e lo adorerete. Se vi piacciono i giochi tranquilli e non tanto movimentati ve lo consiglio al 100%

the vibes of this game are unmatched and the villagers, fishing and collecting bugs for your museum are the best thing ever and gave me hours of enjoyment over the years but tbh decorating your island and house is tedious as hell and very clunky and i almost never bothered to do so

2020 safe place, never got me bored after 6 years and 350 hours of play. Possibilities are endless since it's full of items and ways to personalise them and the island itself, and the collecting of fish, insects and so on is addicting to me. Only con, after some years it got left out by Nintendo without a true successor (which appears to be Pokopia lately). However, it's still THE cozy game on Switch platforms.

Animal Crossing is my happy place. Even with all its quirks and limitations, it’s the one game I can always return to and instantly feel at ease. There’s something magical about starting with a quiet, undeveloped island and watching it slowly transform into a flourishing, beautiful town of your own creation over the course of a year. That contrast — from nothing to something personal and alive — is the heart of the experience. But for a game built around real‑time seasons and daily life, it’s surprisingly light on holidays and events. The calendar often feels empty, almost unfinished. What made it more disappointing was that the free updates focused heavily on room decorating instead of expanding the real‑time world — the very thing that makes Animal Crossing special. It felt like the developers lost sight of that. There are other things I wish were stronger too: better multiplayer, less emphasis on interior design, and a proper free‑camera to appreciate the world from more angles. There’s so much room for improvement. And yet, I love this game. Celebrating real‑world holidays in‑game adds a gentle rhythm to the year, and I’ve even made a habit of writing letters to myself dated one month ahead, just to see how life actually played out when I finally read them. I fall asleep playing it all the time, and there's no gameplay risk. Despite its flaws, I can’t wait for the next entry.

I’m so sorry to all the animal crossing fans out there but this game was not for me. Even tho it looks nice and cozy the gameplay loop is sooo tedious and the gameplay is very clunky for my taste. I honestly didn’t understand the game and it just felt like I was wasting my hours instead of enjoying them so I gave it to a friend who apparently loves it

Shockingly rubbish, massive real time waiting ( unless you change console time ) in between waiting there is nothing to do, its slow, boring and not good at all. Pokemon pokopia is a better choice. Worst game i bought in years.

After 6 years and hundreds of hours played, I still routinely check in on my island and renovate areas. Any game that spends the better part of a decade in regular rotation is a 10/10.

this game is sooooo **** fire. every year or so they release some engagement bait update and it works im not gonna lie. Maybe im blinded by nostalgia but best game series ever. -1 point cause the villagers are lame now.

this game was never finished, it has less features than any previously existing version of the game and absolutely nothing to do besides collect or decorate with cosmetics. every previous edition of the game had drastically more activities, this one just feels like a toy set rather than an interactive experience. there are also massive QOL issues that were better handled in previous entries. in general, i'd suggest that you try playing ACNL on the 3ds if you can access it, since it is a drastically better experience in every aspect besides the resolution, which can easily be upscaled if you play via an emulator.

An excellent way to spend to your time if you just wanna relax. Loved all that you could do on your own little island, even though endless games aren't for me, this was really fun. My biggest gripe was the 'one island per switch' which just seemed kinda scummy to me, but if you aren't sharing a switch then it shouldn't be a problem.

30 FPS refund worthy slop game. Not worth 5 euro for the upgrade... Typical 2026 Nintendo

However, the "Dandori" here is often interrupted by tedious menus and slow pacing. The biggest elephant in the room is the "one island per console" policy; forcing an entire family to share one island—and giving only the first player the power to progress the story—is a baffling move that holds the game back from greatness. If you are a solo player with plenty of patience, it’s a dream. If you are sharing a console or value your time, it can be a test of endurance. PROS: UNMATCHED CREATIVITY: The addition of terraforming and the ability to place furniture anywhere outside allows you to truly make the island your own. THE ULTIMATE ZEN LOOP: A perfect, low-stress experience that rewards you for checking in every day. It’s the gold standard for "comfy" gaming. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a wide fantastic cozy Nintendo game that makes you feel somewhat nostalgic and feel like a kid again. It has a lot of amazing side characters, and so much things to make on your little island and to expand. The customization in the game is limitless with plenty of creativity to unleash around you. Tom Nook may be a con artist but no way I am turning down a deal he gives me. The character customization and the clothing is quite unique. You can choose what you want to set to yourself and what you want to wear in general and including what your style of your character can be. anyway this is my full review of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and if you read this review thank you.

I was not familiar with this kind of game kinda relaxing and non competitive. But animal crossing just gain a new fan. The game is so unique, the characters the ambients and much more. But I don't see the end game

this rating would definitely be lower if i were rating the upgrade! however, i'm not the base game is pretty good! there's a lot to do in it, and it's pretty fun though this is just my opinion, I don't really like progression being gated behind real world days, but ultimately, I do think that is part of what makes the game what it is about the switch 2 upgrade, however: the graphics improvements are pretty nice, I like them I do realize that physics are tied to framerate, but also I think it'd be neat if it ran at 60fps? just a nitpick mainly though the megaphone is also pretty neat for finding villagers, though it is a bit hit or miss at times I don't find myself using the mouse controls added? though they do seem neat for decorating, I'll probably use them when I do the hotel the 12 player sessions seem kinda useless, as there's no way I could ever get 12 people to be in one game at the same time, but you know what I can see it being fun if you do manage that that's about it

Ce titre a été pour moi une révélation. Certes, il présente bien des limites par rapport aux précédents opus. Mais dans son périmètre, la liberté est folle. J'adoré. Evidement comme une grande partie des joueurs, je l'ai découvert, et j'y ai passé de très nombreuses heures durant le covid. Il m'a vraiment régalé. C'est un banger !

This has to be the best game I have ever **** hundreds and hundreds of villagers and items make this games opportunities limitless and exciting! You can do almost anything with your island (make rivers, cliffs, and waterfalls) to make creative and unique designs on your island. It is a great connection game with friends, or visiting someone’s island on a plane. This game is incredible, and will stay with you years to come.

Do never underestimate Animal Crossing. One of the BEST games of all time, in my opinion. Living in an island, with animals that talk and live in houses... Who ever thought of that? It's great! My favourite game of all Nintendo Switch games.

Biased review: my first and only animal crossing, I played in early 2020 during lockdown and it was an absolute treat. Especially playing with a bunch of friends. The day to day grind was extremely pleasant and the vibes were immaculate. Once I finished most of the main progression I slowly started to get burnt out, but it was a vivid flame!

REVIEW INCLUDES THE POST-GAME UPDATES, UP TO THE DLC: In 19 years, Nintendo had finally given players the tools to do what they wanted in the original. Terraforming is a huge part of this game, and you really have to earn it, in more ways than one. Rewarding though it is, the game is otherwise stifled by everything else. It is arguably the definitive Animal Crossing game with regards to the amount of content (and after all the post-game updates brought back most of the previous games' features), but at the same time it's a depressing reminder of how stagnant the formula is since the original game. Despite being an 8th/9th-generation console game, this series is STILL utterly plagued by waiting mechanics, gummy menus, lack of menu functionality, lack of reticles for basic actions like where your shovel is about to dig, lack of online features, absurdly strict item acquisition, etcetera etcetera. And this doesn't even begin to go into the things we lost after the first game. The hilariously bi-polar villagers, the quirky and iconic soundtrack, the 60fps frame rate (yes I know the Wii one had it, don't be a pedant), the Japanese cultural elements, aaaaand so on... The upside of course is that most of the magic is still there. I can't deny I got my money's worth at 1,000 hours of play time, which may be standard for a good Simulation game, but still an achievement when most great Action games wear out their welcome after barely 1% of that. Animal Crossing was a Legendary game when it first got localised in 2003. Even us fans couldn't work out what kept us coming back every day to meander around perfoming the same menial tasks, but that's the magic of Sim games and video game worlds that capture people's imaginations. Nintendo never quite recaptured the full quirkiness of the original in a way that the sequels would deliver. But they're undeniably still fun games. And yet, with how abominable New Horizons' many continuing (and even many NEW) transgressions are, I seriously hope this is the last they ever touch upon the series. The recipe system in particular is one of the most horrific gameplay implementations I have ever seen in 30 years.

I have always loved Animal crossing, and having more than 900 hours in this game kinda requires me to give it at least 8:) But i wouldn't recommend for someone who is looking for adventure and tons to do.I do miss the harsher dialouge from the earlier games. This one gets stale pretty quickly

I love it, my significant other loves it, my brother loves it. This game is good for every audience, even for me, and I don’t like casual games as much. I easily spent 150 hours decorating, and I’m not even close to finishing my island. I hope they will return to the old formula in the future.

I adore this game, you haft to be in a certain mood to play it, but nonetheless possibilities are endless in this gameI've clocked about 100 hours into this game, and yet,IfeelI've only scratched the surface of this game,there's infinite activities to do. And great with friends. Great game!

New Horizons is one of the most overrated games of all time. Although I did enjoy my time doing all of the missions in New Horizons a lot, for me that is where the fun stopped, I hope the next Animal Crossing has a lot more missions and more types of missions.

A cute and fun game, I enjoyed my time in it but I don't think I'll ever come back to it besides to try and complete the musuem, it's just slow paced for me and even though I have time, I didn't want to waste it. I completed the whole story but after that i might've abused gift islands!! With that being said however it's a very fun game for what it's worth, I just think there's many better games in the switch

Modern Animal Crossing with endless customising possibilities. Tom Nook welcomes you to a remote island, where he is going build a society. With your help of course. This game is heavily implemented with customising options and even more collectibles. And of course there are new villagers, that every AC fan would sacrifice any unfortunate NPC villager just to have a Raymond or Audie in their island. But even with these new editions, there are also some downsides. Like dialogue regardless who you talk to, they all say the same thing despite having a personality type. And the fact that tools deteriorate upon usage. Which can get very annoying, while collecting all the fish, bugs and fossils. And bigger inventory space doesn't fix that issue. As I mentioned earlier, customising has a prominent role in this game. One of the main gameplay features introduces you to crafting. You will be very reliant on this skill in order complete your island, and progress through the small tasks given by Tom Nook. Museum's collection has also grown from the previous games. And little shops and points of interests can be unlocked as you slowly build up your island. There is also an achievement system as well to track your progression. For every task and achievement you get points, that you can later use to buy furniture or other items in Nook ATM. The game really highlights it's upgraded graphics, but loses some substance along the way. But that's just a minor nitpick. This is one best ones games to pick if you are buying Nintendo Switch for the first time or if you are new to Nintendo in general. It's a simple slice of life game with unlimited customising possibilities.

This game was a godsend during Covid, but looking back it was not very well designed. By far the worst part about it is that everything--from animations to quests--took incredibly long to complete. For example, you can't even craft more than one item at a time. This doesn't seem like much, but once you've been playing the game for tens of hours (which its supposedly designed for) these kinds of things really drag on and make the game a slog to play. It appears cute and fun on the outside, but I'm not even joking when I say, the thought of playing this game again fills me with dread and stress. It's addicting if you have a lot of time on your hands, though.

This game is a dopamine deprecation simulator. I don’t know how everyone got so hooked on this during the pandemic because it’s SO boring. Every interaction or use of a mechanic requires 2 menus and 4 dialogue boxes like just let me craft you don’t have to confirm that I want to. I don’t care for any of the characters and the progression is basic. I do not hate slow or “cozy” games this one is just bad.

New Horizons is undoubtedly one of the most important games of all time because of what it was when it came out. In a seemingly indefinite period of stress, paranoia, and social distancing, this game released at the right place to provide hours of comfort to millions upon millions of people, becoming one of the unexpected bestsellers on the Switch (and actually amongst all video games). It is gorgeously presented, full of whimsy, and provided the core experience that Animal Crossing is known for... but it unfortunately doesn't do much to stand out. The game is still good, but especially in comparison to other Animal Crossing games, the content feels very sparse.
