Gameplay is okay. Everything else is extremely irritating. New features not working/untested. The most generic and unskippable cutscenes ever. MyGM story mode is a complete and unplayable mess. Some glaring design issues: For example: The answers to interviews are not presented on the same screen as the question, forcing you to actually read every bit of the generic "I am paid to write 50 words here." text in order to answer. Progression in MyPlayer without buying VC is virtually impossible and resembles playing a (very grind heavy) MMORPG. PC optimization is just as bad as the years before. Must be hard to write a sports game that does not ignore the user's controller input from time to time.

Once I got the hang of it the game turned into my favourite strategy game. This game feels like a survival game. My 1st playthrough ended in total defeat. On the easiest difficulty. UI is a bit weak, graphics are serviceable. It's very cheap. Watch a video and try it. I was very pleasently surprised. Game's very hard and I Love it.

Better than 2k15. It's a basketball simulation game that actually simulates a TON of stuff determining the outcome of a basketball game. Currently learning some plays, re-learning how to dribble, re-learning how to pass, re-learning how to defend and everything seems improved. New motion offense works really well. AI defense strips and blocks the ball like a madman when I try to pull of stupid layups or jumpshots. I feel I have to work hard on the offense and defense. If I hit all the right buttons AND if I make the right decisions to drive, shoot or pass, I will get the lead or mount a comeback. I have less rubberband feeling when playing vs AI. It's really interesting to try and find the best shot every possession. I like it. 9.5/10 -0.5 for some minor nuisances like mycareer cheese and too many cutscenes.

Might & Magic: Heroes VII0
Sep 30, 2015
Copywriters are pushing the game. Interesting: Apparently this game is such a heap of **** that nobody will buy it after the truth becomes obvious 3 weeks from now. You enjoy some of the marketing slogans, pardon me, reviews of course, below: General Gonzo: "The best of Heroes III and Heroes V combined to a thrilling turn-based strategy-rpg highlight, Heroes VII brings back the great feeling of just one more turn! " Lance Upperkill: " There are some bugs in game at the moment but give it time and they will be patched. If your a fan of HOMM3 than you are really going to want to give the game a crack" Mothebo: "Heroes VII has become best game on the franchise. After Part 6 I was skeptical, but they have learned from their mistakes. It has good quests, graphics, gameplay and fractions. It is strongly reminiscent of Heroes III" JJ Doe: "Heroes 7 really manages create again this awesome feeling of “just-one-more-turn” to collect, build, fight and explore. ... To sum up, I can say that it definitely is one of the best Heroes games I played (started at H3) and a must buy for people interested in the strategy genre." Nerots: "Heroes VII manages to get back to the roots of the franchise. Simple mechanics, nice synergies for the factions, a strong magic system and a beautiful and smart level design. I'm glad to say that Heroes VII has finally beaten Heroes III, which since yesterday I thought it will be unbeatable EVER."

Stopped playing after 6 hrs. Bad performance, bad AI, confusing mechanics + incomplete documentation, slow in game encyclopedia, defending a village works best by leaving the village cause of maneuvering inside village = pain in the ass, random attacks out of fog of war because of huge campaign movement range, extremeley sluggish campaign play, TONS of waiting: pacing and performance wise, 30-60 seconds turn times, very strange upgrade trees, unnecessary grief mechanics (sanitation)

Dragon Age: Inquisition8
Dec 9, 2014
Finished the game in about 100 hours and still had some maps/areas that I didn't complete. Pros: 1) Story 2) Atmosphere 3) Story 4) Atmosphere 5) Scope/Size 6) Story Cons: 1) Camera 2) UI 3) Strange/boring/pointless minigames and/or quests 4) A bunch of gameplay simplifications The Pros are so awesome that I actually started to play Dragon Age again. For the sole purpose of reading each and every codex entry. The world and history of Dragon Age is vast. And Dragon Age Inquisition does a good job of filling this vastness with life, details and characters. And the gameplay... well, it's okay. Gameplay/mechanics is mildly fun and the game doesn't crash. But magnificent world design/graphics/writing make up for this. 8/10

I played offline mode, so maybe that's why I like this game. Last year's nba has been nothing short of a black (time) hole, and I suspect this will be the same with this year's nba. 10/10 -1 for loading times though :( What I like: - The game works (well, at least offline). - The story mode made me laugh a couple of times. Last year's interviews were a pain and I hated every boring pixel of my player. Now I just lean back, watch cutscenes and enjoy the cheese. - Music has improved. - Graphics are nice - Players have 0-20+ special abilities which is always nice if I need to come up with an explanation about why somebody hit or missed a shot. - Nowitzki is still a beast. - I can shootaround without having to maneuver through a labyrinth of menu screens. - Gameplay hasn't got worse. Best game of 2014 for me so far.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor2
Oct 5, 2014
Why make an open world game if the world is deleted every 5 minutes and starting a mission resets the entire world? It doesn't matter if you killed 0, 100, or 1 million orcs. When you start a mission the "start mission situation" is loaded. As soon as the mission ends, the "standard world" is loaded. So, the "open world" serves no purpose, it's a glorified tutorial/XP grind stage. What the player is left with is the combat and the missions. The game might be nice if you never played a button masher action game. But after playing for 1 hour I realized that I've already played this game 10 years ago. It was called The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and it had better mission, better combat, nice characters, humor, style, story and it was immersive, varied, and straight to the point. In comparison, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor feels bloated, generic, poorly thought out, unimaginative, repetitive, monotonous and needlessly long-winded/pointless. --- Oh, and WHO thought it would be fun to play as a UNDEAD NOBODY slaughtering 1000s of orc clones again and again and again?

Well, if you stop playing the game 1 day after its release it can't be that good, can it? I got extremely bored of everything in this game, even rotating the camera. Problems: 1) Combat is a nuisance, and tactical options are limited. 2) Quest/dialog system is weak. Entering keywords doesn't work. 3) Weapon customization is pointless, because it's all about DPS, no tactics involved. 4) Character development ist pointless, because you NEED a computer guy, a locks guy, a conversation guy, a doctor and on top of that everybody must be able to shoot like a pro (s. 1). Pretty sure, there's ONE optimal party build and one build only. Besides the poor execution of stuff actually included in the game, the stuff that's entirely missing (after playing Fallout1 and 2) is endless. Aimed shots, combat drugs, side missions, etc. Bottom line is: The game feels like a game from 1995 with graphics from 2005. Quick reminder: The year is 2014. Maybe the devs should play a game once in a while. Ah well, I'm out of here. Gotta find another hobby.

Tropico 50
Jun 23, 2014
I regretted buying this game after playing for more than 3 hours. Game mechanics are not documented anywhere. Politics: Rebels will rise based on faction standings, not based on happiness, leading to the ridiculous situation that your people love you, but you are facing rebel attacks every 3 minutes (real time) because some factions hate you because of (uninformed) decisions made by the player regarding the constitution of the island. Economy: Um... I made MUCH more money from selling coffee than I did from selling canned coffee. Importing raw materials (sugar) to produce something else (rum) does not work at all. 80% of the trade routes are import routes. At some point I simply ignored trade altogether and simply spammed farms, mines and lumberjacks. Humour: No. Tropico 5 is not funny. Music: Music is fine, I guess. Final verdict: Uninspired necromantic effort.

It's a solid turn-based game that's 15 years late. Battles are repetitive, only 8 out of 100 skills are actually useful. Gameplay is a series of (very similar) tactical battles. The RPG-part is clicking through dialogue. Game gets boring really fast.

Great tactical turn based combat RPG, the system is a nice invention (check out banner saga: factions). This game allows 2 playthroughs (8 hrs each). 1st playthrough (normal diff): roleplay and lead your army and then a caravan of refuges to safety. Battles will be hard but possible. Story is a bit weird but interesting enough to keep some interest. 2nd playthrough: powergame your way to the final battle on hard difficulty. THe good thing about the game: 1st playhrough is carried by story/decisions 2nd playthrough is carred by mechanics. I've spent about 20hrs playing this game and it's been fun/interesting and challenging 90% of the time.

This game gets a 10/10 for letting me design a fleet of ships that will shred the enemy fleets to space debris... The problem is: THere is no documentation (everything is guessing and trial&error, AI uses your ship designs but has no clue what it is doing), and the game is terrible when you try to wipe out another civilization or conquer their planets becuase of the way ground combat is organized. The idea of the game is absolutely great. But everything besides the ship design, ship combat part pretty much ****.

The Banner Saga: Factions10
Mar 21, 2013
TBS? I have played them all. Banner Saga is one of the best titles on the market and ever created. Although the rules are rather simple (just like chess) It takes a while to learn (or become good at). Once you know what you are doing, every game presents challenging strategical decisions, in every single turn. The game is multiplayer, so don't expect to win every game. This is a must-have for anyone enjoying thinking (and hitting stuff with big ass axes).

What could have been a fairly good standard hack'n slash turns into a complete and utter failure by implementation of a real money auction house that forces players to buy equipment there, because drop rates have been reduced dramatically in order to prevent the real money market from being flooded by too many items.
The items you CAN find are fubbish 99% of the time. Servers are not very stable. Overall the game annoys the hell out of me and I stopped playing it after 2 days. 0-/10

I will never understand why people think it's okay to release/publish a game that has very dated graphics while lagging and eating resources like (6GB RAM, 3,2 GHz quadcore) like it was the most complex simulation on earth.
The gameplay is okay I guess, but the game starts very slowly and just isn't nice to look at. The year is 2012. You either do good 3D-graphics or you offer something unique/with style. Nobody needs uninspired games done for the ceapest production costs possible.

Jagged Alliance: Back in Action0
Apr 19, 2012
The difference between 1999 and 2012 in video games. 2012 releases a half-finished game that lacks any kind of creativity, but has 3D environment.
The UI of this game is terrible and a whole lot inferior to Frozen Synapse. The gameplay is okay for about 2 or 3 hours, but after that you start to notice the AI issues (either rush or camp) and the lack of ... everything.
No destructible environment.
No throwing weapons.
No Fog of War.
No Stealth kills.
No story.
No cash management.
No (global) inventory screen.
No merc friendships or personality.
No aliens. It's a depressing piece of low-budget junk.
0.5 points to the guy who designed the engine. Because the 3D environment sort of works alright.

This game gets a 2 points score for video and animation only. The game is pretty much unplayable and crippled by terrible mouse keyboard control. Camera movement is clunky and annoying, click responses are not fast and not precise. The game itself is ok, maybe 70-80 points. But it is not playable on PC. To add to the fun you cannot play this game when you are not online because you have to prove to the ubi-servers that you have legally bought this shoddy console port. Overall: Bad and cheap console port with bad controls, substandard performance and annoying DRM. 2/10.

Apr 14, 2011
Civ5 is a rather bad action game. Controls are limited and it is best played with a gamepad. It also helps to be intoxicated while playing. I takes about 10 hours to beat the game on STEAM difficulty. Most of the time is spent navigating the mouse pointer and hitting "end turn" about 300 times. Everything else is more or less autopilot. Your opponents (barbarian tribes and barbarian boss tribes) don't know who they are what they are where they are and what they are supposed to do, so it is a single player. Mulitplayer is broken, but totally ROCKS according to the devs. I recommend thsi game to enyone who is short of hate and / or boredom.

Very disappointing game. Economy system is buggy and broken, several AI issues, obscure (and overly complicated) POP mechanics, a lack of control and SLOW code make this game a major waste of your time. Vicci 1 was so much better in every respect, which is sadly true for so many Paradox titles.
I spent 100s of hours in Vicci 1, gave up on this game after 10-20 hours.

Game is optimized for DLC. Disjointed story, chaotic combat. I recommend reading a book or watching 3 movies instead. If you throw a ball against an wall while wathcing the movie you can call your movie-watching interactive. You can even add a mulitplayer function by throwing the ball to some mate while watching the movie. You should however chose a good movie to watch (otherwise you'll be wishing to click through stupid dialogue like in DA2)

Mediocre at best. Nice gear recycling system, innovative magic system. I played TW1 for 5 hours before I got bored out of my mind. TW2 I played 5,5 hours before the same happened.
Why is that? Mainly because the combat is too simple. Even on hard there's no plan or skill required for fighting monsters. This gets old really fast. Running around aimlessly is what you'll be doing a lot in this game. Looting stuff only provides so much fun. Graphics are ok. Story and gameplay are very weak. Game has problems with connection and performance. 50 pages of tech problem thread in 7 days speak for themselves. Customer support is awful. Gameplay: Kill and fetch PvE quest system. Farm'n grind, nothing new. Several different currencies allow for specialized grinding. Rift events are permanently popping up everywhere and not challenging. PvP is chaotic, restricted, unbalanced and pointless (no gain whatsoever if the other player was attacked by a mob). If I was able to play it I'd rate it 4/10. But I get disconnected on a regular basis, so the game is unplayable = 0/10. Continuing to wait for Guild Wars 2.â
