Imagination will always substitute for visual splendor if a story is told in a genius way, and Space Rangers 2 does exactly that. This is one for the record books, and simply must be played.

Space Rangers 2 should have shipped with better documentation, and beating the game can prove difficult for new players, even on the easiest difficulty setting. But at 29 bucks(which includes the original <i.Space rangers, a game that never shipped in the U.S.), it's the deal of the century. [July 2006, p.66]

I used to love this game. Sadly, can't play no more since the developer is from russia.

Not only is the best game I've played this year...it probably just cracked my top 15 games of all time.

If I were to describe this game in a single word, I would simple say, "Vast."

Graphics are not what make this game. But when you add on the addictive gameplay, easy controls, great storyline and replay value, you have one solid game.

Space Rangers 2 is one of those rare games that you don't just finish and stick on a shelf. Even after "beating" the game several times you're left with the feeling of having just scratched the surface.

Like "Pirates!" in space, but not as good as that suggests. [Oct 2005, p.92]

A game from my childhood, excellent quest systems, and plot. The gameplay is just unique.

Лучшая космическая пошаговая стратегия с уникальными механиками, системой прокачки, запоминающимися юморными квестами, офигенской музыкой!

A hidden gem. Give it a try and you will be lost for hundred of hours. Music and atmosphere are unforgettable. Gameplay is mix of 4X, RPG, text adventures and RTS. RTS missions are average but optional. Text quests (optional too) are well written, have good humour and many laughable moments. Core elements, 4X and RPG, are solid. A lot of advanced settings for character creation, difficulty, etc.

This will be two reviews in one. First few hours of the game, I rate an eight (first 3-5 hours). The fights look cool, tend to be thinking-based, you can trade here and there - you know, the usual.
Quests are fun, script-based text adventures.
However, after those 5 hours, you'll see that the possibilities game offered had just ended. And you don't want to play it anymore. It gets irritating then, and you rate it a 0. What I mean is, all the things that made me like this game to a point of an 8, turned the other cheek and began irritating me. Pointless battles, pointless fighting, pointless pointless pointless.
