NOT a Persona clone, but just as great! You’ll love this! Perfect substitute for not having the series on Switch.

NEO: The World Ends with You10
Aug 4, 2021
If you like Persona, you’ll LOVE this game!! Just keeping it short. It’s such an amazing game. Easily my favorite of the year so far. Combat might look button mashy but for Groove attacks and Killer Remixes you need to learn and swap combos!! The pins basically give every character hundreds of different attacks. Story is deep, dark and the characters feel lively. So so good. Must play!

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD3
Aug 4, 2021
It doesn’t play as smoothly as I’d wish it too. Everything feels very slow and dragged out. And of course, $60 for a barely enhanced HD port is steep. I’m really against the expensive and limited amiibo blocking fast travel as well. It’s just incredibly unhandy.

Dead or Alive 68
Jul 14, 2021
It looks really good. It has some of my favorite fighters in it! I just feel like it’s incredibly difficult for newcomers. There needs to be a feature to just name T, P, K, etc buttons after what they are on the controller. The tutorial is definitely helpful and very detailed, but I’m having difficulty with fancier inputs like + K. Or two at once. It doesn’t tell you what exactly to do. Do I hold the button? Do I have to be fast? When you get something right randomly, it automatically progresses to the next level. I would prefer if you could continue practicing certain things and move on when you’re ready and didn’t just get lucky with the input. I wish there were more stages, even if they have to be DLC. What I don’t like is that they’re pushing really hard to make you buy the DLC costumes. Costume sets are incredibly expensive and considering that each fighter only has 2-3 for free, this really ****. It takes ages to get points for different (free) color options and you don’t get a lot of coins easily either. It’s really annoying that in random battles, you always see all the locked DLC outfits when looking for something that you have. Creating custom slots is a hassle for me, personally. And it takes away lots of storage space on your console if you could just manually download what you want. I also really dislike that the paid fighters are always shown. My last complaint is that there should have been a fancier main menu. More animations for the characters. It feels very empty and lifeless. Wish they would move or something.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury7
Jun 27, 2021
Very fun with friends! The levels are amazing. Not hard at all, not too easy. Since it's a port, I'm glad that Bowser's Fury was added. Although it's really short and I don't see myself playing it again.

Mario Golf: Super Rush2
Jun 27, 2021
I miss the times when Nintendo released finished games. This game works, but it's bland. It just feels like they didn't have the budget to make a really good new golf entry, which is such a bummer. Releasing free DLC over time just doesn't work for me.

Sonic Rush Adventure10
Jun 26, 2021
The best Sonic game in my opinion. Blaze the Cat is such a good character that should really be used again. The rush-gameplay is so unique and it's fun to constantly do tricks and boost. This game is a major upgrade to Rush. It's way longer and I only really miss Cream, her mom and Cheese because they really went well with Blaze. Other than that, the levels are fun. The bosses are easier than in Rush (which I appreciate). I felt like the overall difficulty was more forgiving. There was just way more to do. Also, I loved unlocking stuff on the island in return for doing missions! The exploration mini games are also pretty good. Absolutely amazing game that really deserves a remake.

Sonic Colors10
Jun 26, 2021
The rush-style gameplay is the best in the series imo. It's just satisfying and perfect for Sonic. The stages never feel too long or too short. Even with constantly boosting, it feels just the right length. I consider the DS version to be vastly superior to the Wii version because side quests were actually fun! So many characters had cameos in this game.

Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood8
Jun 26, 2021
This game has its flaws, but it honestly isn't bad. I really enjoyed choosing characters and unique movesets. Using moves and having to get all of the combos right on the touchscreen was really stressful, but in the end it worked out just fine. I really enjoyed all areas and how interactive all the characters are! The comic-style cutscenes were also very enjoyable!

Sonic Forces6
Jun 26, 2021
I actually really really like the levels. At least visually. It's just that they're generally way to short and not a lot of them are designed fun enough to justify replaying them. It's a fine game to play once if you like Sonic, but it really isn't the best. Lots of characters are back, which is cool. It just could have been more and even the story progresses too quickly. 10/10 for the soundtrack though!

Sonic Mania Plus8
Jun 26, 2021
Visually, the game is an absolute blast. Also quite a few characters to play as. It's really a perfect remake of the original games if you liked those. I'm probably one of the few people who are more into Sonic Rush, Rush Adventure and Colors (DS)-style levels though. I always found the rush system to be perfect for blasting through stages and it feels so much more satisfying than constantly getting stuck on walls and just everywhere. Precise platforming is also incredibly hard in Mania. You know, jumping around moving blocks for example. My only complaint really is just the difficulty. Just like the OG games, if you're not good at this kind of game in general, it will take a few tries to get good in levels. Which is fine, but it can be frustrating. Especially running out of lives in the final boss stage and having to repeat pretty long levels just to try again. I have not figured out a way to farm lives either, so yeah. The difficulty is the only thing that I didn't enjoy a lot!

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future10
Jun 26, 2021
This was peak Professor Layton. I can recommend this game to literally anyone who doesn't mind a lot of dialogue. The characters are REALLY good though, so this is more than just a bland visual novel. Features like moving around, inspecting all areas with your stylus and puzzles make this a very immersive experience.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade6
Jun 26, 2021
The game itself is great, but not worth releasing on its own for full price. The PS5 upgrade is free and the DLC is $20. I've often seen the PS4 version as low as $30, so this really shouldn't be more than $50. The new content is kinda minimal. Just some new cutscenes with the crew and pretty much everything else is Yuffie. If you don't like her, this really isn't worth it.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon9

Persona 5 Strikers6
Jun 26, 2021
The developers clearly focused on the Switch's limitations in mind when making this game. The characters and environments look absolutely crusty. There's barely any improvement PS4 and 5. Port beggars have no right to complain that the Switch 'only' got this game and not Royal yet. It's a gift that the Switch has this game to begin with, as it's ONE OF the few Persona entries on a Nintendo console. Appreciate it. The pixelated characters have lost all their previous charme and with such a heavy focus on characters, it ruins the entire experience for me. It looks so bad compared to the now 5 year old predecessor. There's lots of talking, so it really is not great. Gameplay and everything else is amazing though.

Fun multiplayer! This is really great for co-op. It could be the ultimate party game collection if the games had more different backgrounds, designs, etc. Some of them just feel very low effort. I also like the personalities of the little characters, but I would have loved if they were actually animated characters. Not just figures. Would have given the game more charme.

As a huge fan of SMT and Fire Emblem releases from 2010 onwards, I really tried to like this game. But it's just so flat. The characters have absolutely no depth to them and the whole idol concept wasn't executed very well. Combat is great though, as expected **** related to SMT!

Pokemon Ultra Moon4
Jun 22, 2021
An enhanced and better version of Sun & Moon. It's so similar to the first set of games that it makes them redundant. Considering the content, it's just like a remake with slight changes, some new additions. It's basically fixing a pretty mid Pokemon release and making it a little more interesting.

Professor Layton VS Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney10

AI: The Somnium Files6
Jun 22, 2021
A great game overall. Interesting story, good characters. The mechanics are fun. I didn't love it enough to want to replay it though. This is a game that you play once, appreciate it for what it is and that's it. One negative thing, it starts lagging A LOT during video calls. That's a reason why I would recommend playing the PS4 version over this.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars2
Jun 22, 2021
Fun because of nostalgia? Maybe. Other than that, not really. Personally, I feel like the controls are very wonky or just aged badly. Along with the clunky camera and the graphics are just okay. These ports are missing a polishing touch. Unfortunately, this was not that great for me. The 3D World port that came out alongside this game was way more enjoyable. It just felt incredibly smooth and fun in comparison.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons3
Jun 22, 2021
After 500+ hours, I can confidently say that I know almost everything about the game and I have no more motivation to play it. Even without time travelling, it has become too easy to progress. You quickly run out of essential things to achieve. You can decorate outdoors now, which is great, but the variety in items is too limited. The game also very quickly starts dropping below 30 FPS if you decorate MODERATELY (not even talking about cluttering!) and if you're sensitive to that, it's horrible. Island building is an amazing new feature, but this seems to be at the cost of many other things. Way too little events, no more fun buildings like the coffee shop and not many special villagers as well. It's really missing that depth. You can now go on island trips to 'choose' your own villagers and they don't randomly leave anymore. That's great. Other than that, their personality and quirkiness in dialogue is ultimately gone. They pretty much say the same every two days. In the end, the game is a fun decorating simulator with lots of limits. It desperately needs a 2.0 upgrade with many new features and items. Another big minus: Every island has a fixed color palette on all items that come in different colors. Instead of collecting color-changing items, you are now forced to buy Nintendo Switch online and trade. This is a big turnoff for me. Say, if you want a basic item like a white streetlamp, but your island only offers rusty red ones, you won't be able to get it unless you trade with someone else. I think this is a horrible feature and takes away the freedom of decorating. This applies to around 60-70% of all available items.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139...10
Jun 22, 2021
One of the best games for people who like gorgeous adventures with beautiful anime-style characters! The story is very deep and emotional, accompanied by one of the best gaming soundtracks ever. Nier never disappoints. Most sidequests are completely optional and so is grinding materials to max out all weapons. These two parts can get tedious, but if you're not playing the game to collect trophies, it's no issue. My only wish is for the game to be longer because I enjoyed every minute playing it!

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked10
Jun 22, 2021
A perfect introduction to SMT! It's more lighthearted than mainline games because you're almost always accompanied by friends. Your decisions matter A LOT and it's amazing how much depth it offers in terms of story and team creation. Great replayability, also because of multiple endings and an extra day compared to the DS version. It feels lively because the characters are voiced and very unique. The graphics are lovely thanks to all the detail and cool areas! So in a sense, if you like Persona with a bigger focus on demons and strategy, you'll love this game.
