Speed Golf is undoubtedly the main attraction of the game and it is a pity that other modes aren´t also so good.

It’s great to see Mario Golf back with some great new modes to play but changes to the gameplay take the series one-step forward and two-steps back. [Issue #4, p.53]

Mario Golf: Super Rush is an enjoyable but ultimately fairly average Mario sports game that never quite reaches the heights of the series’ best entries. The core golf gameplay is still fun, easy to pick up, and backed by reliable controls, making it a good fit for quick sessions with friends or relaxed solo play. It is nice to see Mario Golf finally arrive on the Switch, and the arcade-style approach keeps matches moving at a good pace. Shot mechanics feel solid, and multiplayer works particularly well when playing casually with others. Speed Golf is entertaining enough for a while, though it feels more like a novelty mode than a game-changing addition. The Adventure mode at least gives solo players something more substantial to work through. While it drags a little in places, it adds some welcome structure and progression beyond standard matches, even if it never becomes especially memorable. The main issue is that the overall package feels a little thin and lacking in personality. The courses are decent without being particularly standout, and there is a lingering sense that older Mario Golf games offered more charm, depth, and long-term appeal. Once the initial excitement wore off, there was little reason to keep returning regularly. Mario Golf: Super Rush is perfectly enjoyable for a week or two of concentrated play, especially in multiplayer, but it never quite captured the magic or depth of the older Mario Golf titles. A competent and accessible sports game, though one that struggles to rise above “good enough.”

I created an account just so I could rate this game. Though it has its moments as a great couch playing game the story mode is a different beast all together and the reason for my review. The XC level comes out of nowhere and turns a fun, casual, relaxing golf game into a rage inducing experience. Out of no where you are expect to hit balls up literal mountains and if you make one wrong move the last 30 minutes you spent on the course is wasted. The internet will tell you "just start on the highest hole and work down from there" while the highest hole is 5-10 shots away and you only have 45 shots to do 9 holes. So you are expected to waste almost 20% of your available shot just to start off correctly. I hate this game for this alone.

With its frantic new modes and spot-on gameplay, playing Mario Golf: Super Rush is the most amount of fun I've had with a sports game in a very long time. Throw in that iconic Nintendo charm and comprehensive multiplayer and you're left with a hole-in-one.

Although Mario Golf: Super Rush doesn't do anything groundbreaking, it does what it does, from a great solo career to sophisticated serious golf to crazy Speed and Battle Golf. Singleplayer and multiplayer are absolutely equal partners here, to such an extent that even if you are only interested in one of them, the game can still be recommended without hesitation.

Mario Golf: Super Rush is a good game with lots of great things going for him, but it can fell too shallow at times, both in the Adventure mode and the the single and multiplayer modes.

With everything above said, there’s an obvious draw here in it just being a Mario game, which alone will pull people to it. And there’s some fun to be had, and Nintendo gets a lot right with it, we just need the gimmicks and party favours turned down. Invincibility Star isn’t a number, so dialling the game up to that just isn’t something we can tune into on the reg. Especially given golf on its own merits is a game of strategy and patience, that can still be fast and fun without needing addressive rolling rocks impeding your path all the time.

Mario Golf Super Rush is a fun way to spend a few hours with friends on the course, but it struggles to maintain any momentum after that. Adventure mode is short and a little dull, and while Speed Golf (and to a lesser extent, its Battle-based sibling) are fun, I found myself wishing there was more to see and do here.

Mario Golf: Super Rush is the best installment in the franchise. It brings back old memories and creates new ones. The new features bring a fresh twist to the game, down to the little details like giving the characters new outfits and unlocked better golf clubs. This game is a wonderful and relaxing game to play; It breaks up the monotony of playing games you have to stay focused on. This game gives you a nice break to just sit back and play a couple rounds but also gives you a couple of game modes that give you that “super rush” you get when you are focused on a good video game for hours. The Mii story mode is another refreshing creative twist that gives this game another way to play. It’s fun and fresh and a great addition to the game as a whole. With the near future holding more updates to this game I can only say that it is going to get more and more fun for the family. I give this game a thumbs up to Nintendo in their line up of sports themed games. My only complaint would be that I wish the game had more courses and character options, but as shown in the trailers for this game they already have plans to add more of these in the near future. In conclusion, I give Nintendo praise for delivering a great wholesome video game that gives the Golfing franchise a fresh coat of paint while adding more to what we loved from the past. With that being said I encourage others to play this game. It’s relaxing, fun and brings a good balance to daily gaming. .Xx

It is not a bad game, but it is true that the adventure mode is quite boring. The better thing about this game is possibly the Speed Golf (without being anything impressive, though), but all other modes are boring, and just like the game itself, it doesn't have any impressive content and mechanics.

This game is not good. The game is bland and does not have a soul. The game came out with content missing and even after the updates the game is still boring and bland. The story mode is short and bland. The game has one positive and it's the graphics. 4/10

I don't know what's going on with Camelot but they haven't been able to provide a good Mario Sports game in years. This started with Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash and seems to continue in the present day. Mario Golf: Super Rush is lacking the charm from the previous games and is severely lacking in content. Gone are the ring shots modes, cup tournaments, challenges, best badges/birdie badges and star characters. None of the game modes are interesting and are very boring and basic. The graphics are pretty bad for the Switch (especially Shelltop Sanctuary golf course, it's awful). The characters only have one animation for a good or bad outcome when winning/losing a hole and it's very lazily done compared to the previous entries which had very flashy animations. The only thing good I have to say about the characters is that they have pretty good golfing outfits (save for a few like Yoshi and DK who don't have any). If this game was 20$ or cheaper I would have gave this 7 or more but the fact it's a 60$ full game price is why it's a problem, it's like Nintendo doesn't simply doesn't care if they're ripping their off customers and simply charging that amount of money for being a Nintendo product. The seal of quality once used by the company has completely lost it's meaning. Play the previous golf entries or spend your money on another actually good Switch game.
